RACE 1

AMYLEE (3) took a trail on debut two starts ago and was second there to The Luvbug. She was driven for luck last start from a wide gate and ran on strongly late into second behind Kash Fund in a quick last half. May have the speed to get to the front in this race.

TIMMYTEO (8) has trialled up impressively scoring two good trial wins. He draws the back row in this race but appears to have the ability to overcome that and should be thereabouts on debut.

LONGSHOT (6) scored a very impressive trial win by a big margin. The time was solid enough for a 2YO. Will need to overcome the widest gate in this race but is unlikely to live up to his name on debut and looks one of the main chances.

SHES MY MISTAKE (7) has started her career with two seconds from two starts. Her last start third was good after making a break in the run.

SELECTIONS: AMYLEE (3), TIMMYTEO (8), LONGSHOT (6), SHES MY MISTAKE (7)

SUGGESTED BET: AMYLEE (3) and TIMMYTEO (8) quinella.

RACE 2

KIVICI (8) starts off a 20 metre handicap in this race but has often faced much bigger handicaps including last start when coming off 40 metres. He hasn’t won for some time but has raced well when doing everything right.

VOLTAIN (4) was an impressive winner last start closing best late to score. He again starts off the front tapes in a short course stand and looks well suited. If he can secure a good run in the race he can be in the finish again.

MELPARK MAGIC (7) was a good winner three race starts ago before heading out for a spell. He has trialled recently and was good enough there to run second to a very smart pacer in Iron Clad.

DOWN SOUTH DAISY (6) has only had two career starts for one win and one fourth where she made a break mid race. She has shown ability at trials and could measure up on her best behaviour.

SELECTIONS: KIVICI (8), VOLTAIN (4), MELPARK MAGIC (7), DOWN SOUTH DAISY (6)

SUGGESTED BET: VOLTAIN (4) to win.

RACE 3

SITTING ON EIGHT (2) was able to beat Mighty Crunch last start who’s since won impressively. He hasn’t raced for over a month which is a slight query. He starts from a low gate in this race and should be hard to beat if fit enough.

YOURSOSPECIAL (6) broke through to break maiden status last start when leading and winning at this track. Is likely to find this tougher in a race with a bit more depth starting from a wide gate.

THE LUVBUG (4) led and won last start at Albion Park running solid enough time for the 2YOs. Showed good gate speed on that occasion and shouldn’t be too far away early in this race.

TOGETHER WE PLAY (1) starts from a good gate in this race after three good runs to start her career. She will certainly find this race tougher but has drawn favourably.

SELECTIONS: SITTING ON EIGHT (2), YOURSOSPECIAL (6), THE LUVBUG (4), TOGETHER WE PLAY (1)

SUGGESTED BET: SITTING ON EIGHT (2) to win.

RACE 4

SCRUFFY DOOLAN (4) led last start over the mile and was a good second to Ajay Volstead which had the cold sit on his back. The handicaps see him well placed in this race.

BANFF (6) can begin quickly from the stand start. Ran on nicely last start behind Ajay Volstead to get into third. His latest win was when facing a 10 metre handicap in a heat of the Jim McNeil at Albion Park in March.

CALL ME TROUBLE (8) has returned to form in recent starts with a strong second two starts ago in very fast time behind Thebestbourbon before running well for a midfield finish last start after starting from the widest gate. Needs to bring his best manners to figure in this.

SON OF A SUN (2) is capable of a quick getaway on his day. If he is able to step away cleanly and quickly he can run well in this race off the front mark.

SELECTIONS: SCRUFFY DOOLAN (4), BANFF (6), CALL ME TROUBLE (8), SON OF A SUN (2)

SUGGESTED BET: BANFF (6) to win.

RACE 5

ROCKNROLL DA GAMA (2) ran on strongly last start in similar company to run third behind My Ultimate Rudi. He draws much better in this race and shouldn’t be too far away from gate 2.

MAN OF ACTION (4) was able to show good gate speed last start at Marburg and scored a big win there. Draws outside of a few moderate beginners in this race and if he was able to cross in the early stages he’d prove hard to catch.

KNOCKAWARWON (5) returned to form with a dominant win two starts ago when leading all the way. He then took on a heat of the trot rods last start and was a good second there after doing all the work.

SIX TIMES A LADY (6) is faced by a wide gate in this race but has been going very nicely. Hasn’t missed the placings in her last four starts and has scored two wins in that time.

SELECTIONS: ROCKNROLL DA GAMA (2), MAN OF ACTION (4), KNOCKAWARWON (5), SIX TIMES A LADY (6)

SUGGESTED BET: ROCKNROLL DA GAMA (2) to win.

RACE 6

HATTIES JEWEL (3) has very good gate speed and was impressive when leading and being beaten by Kyloan Queen two runs ago who has the perfect run on her back. She had no luck last start when caught wider and forced to the rear of the field before making up solid ground late.

THE TIGER ARMY (6) was a very impressive second two start ago in a really sharp last half at Albion Park. Last start he was left without cover outside Megs Boy who was a dominant winner and ran strong time. The wide draw means he may need to work again in this race.

YANKEE C J (10) swept into the race strongly last start and was just run down late by Little Hoofananny. Draws a wide gate in this race and faces a back row draw which could make things difficult but he is racing well.

RACE FOR RICHES (4) has been impressive this time in. Scored a good win four starts ago when sitting without cover. Two starts ago he ran into a strong second behind Ultimate Miki before running on strongly into third last start behind Megs Boy.

SELECTIONS: HATTIES JEWEL (3), THE TIGER ARMY (6), YANKEE C J (10), RACE FOR RICHES (4)

SUGGESTED BET: HATTIES JEWEL (3) to win.

RACE 7

EDWARD JAY (1) hasn’t had much luck in recent outings. Last time he was able to lead he scored an impressive win over the 2138 at Albion Park rating good time. He should have the gate speed to lead in this race and if he does he will be the one to beat.

LITTLE HOOFANANNY (3) started from an awkward draw last start inside the back row but was able to work away from the inside and finished best to score over Yankee C J. Should secure a reasonable run again in this race from a low draw and can be thereabouts with the right run into the race.

SCRUFFY (6) made a break early last start which leaves him ODM for this race making his bid for victory much tougher. He was very impressive to make up a lot of ground there after the early error.

LA MISTRESS (7) should get a good run through in the early stages. This is a touch harder than her recent outings but a likely economical trip could negate that factor.

SELECTIONS: EDWARD JAY (1), LITTLE HOOFANANNY (3), SCRUFFY (6), LA MISTRESS (7)

SUGGESTED BET: EDWARD JAY (1) to win.

RACE 8

MACH ASSASSIN (1) has good gate speed and should have enough to dictate in the early stages of this race. He had a brief look for the top last start but was unsuccessful in that challenge before being restrained. He finished off nicely there in an effort that would see him competitive in this race.

HOLD ONTO YA BLING (7) has been in good form and appears to be closing in another victory. He seems to really appreciate a soft trip on the pegs closing off strongly a few starts ago to be narrowly beaten by Barrett.

MIGHTY JOLT (8) started inside the back row last start and didn’t have the momentum of the winner when making ground up the inside late. He scored a strong win his start prior and appears to be racing well. Has options in this race.

SELSEY BILL (5) was forced to do all the work two back and was a strong second to Applied. Starts from a wide gate in this race but has shown he can do work in his races.

SELECTIONS: MACH ASSASSIN (1), HOLD ONTO YA BLING (7), MIGHTY JOLT (8), SELSEY BILL (5)

SUGGESTED BET: MACH ASSASSIN (1) to win.

RACE 9

BETTERTHANAROCKET (5) has arguably been in career best form of late having recorded two wins in his last three starts both in very fast time over the 2138 and 1660 at Albion Park. Draws wide in this race but he is a versatile horse and can be driven a number of ways depending on tempo.

ALTA EQUUS (1) is a horse with very good gate speed and should have the speed to dictate in the early stages of this race. He was fast enough to zip across two starts ago and take the trail on Rocks Or Diamonds before narrowly beating that horse up the sprint lane late.

LAST TIME JOE (7) draws to get the perfect run through in this race. He led three starts ago and recorded a fast mile rate there just beaten by Betterthanarocket who’d had a much more economical run.

MAJOR JELLIS (6) has been in consistent form without having won in over two years. He made an error at the start last time out and now finds himself ODM which makes his task a lot tougher in this race.

SELECTIONS: BETTERTHANAROCKET (5), ALTA EQUUS (1), LAST TIME JOE (7), MAJOR JELLIS (6)

SUGGESTED BET: LAST TIME JOE (7) each way.
