Form Analysis: Redcliffe May 14

RACE 1 

MAYWYN TROUBADOUR (1) has very good gate speed and appears a horse that’s likely to be suited to leading over the 947 journey. 

BOLD MEDLEY JUJON (5) is the class runner in the field and trialled up sharply ahead of his return in this race. The Dixon stable has previously had plenty of success in this series and he looks another strong hope. 

ALLMIGHTY MAX (6) is faced by a tough draw in this race over the short course but he has been in good form this time in. He ran fifth last start but was beaten just 4.9 metres there. 

MISSTREPO (2) doesn’t appear a horse that would be ideally suited to the trot rod format being more of a one paced staying type than a really high speed type. The low draw does likely allow her to get a good trip in the race which could see her in the finish.

RACE 2 

WAR CLUB (1) has good gate speed. Generally seems to go best with something to follow but over the 947 distance he may try his luck out in front. Has been racing very well. 

B MAC C (2) could secure a really good run in the race close to the speed. He has always been a fast horse and could be suited to this format. 

BLACKJACK CRIPPA (3) is one of the class runners in the race and resumes here. He may be forced to do the work if he can get across in the early stages but certainly has the ability to still figure in the finish. 

CYCLONE TONY (5) led last start and appeared to over race badly which contributed to him fading late into a midfield finish. Draws wide but may be suited to the short course.

SUGGESTED BET: WAR CLUB (1) to win. 

RACE 3

GEM PUNTER PETE (5) got back in the run last start and swept around them to score a nice victory over the 2040. Steps back to the 1780 in this race and draws wide but should be hard to beat again. 

BETTERTHAN POPSY (4) was forced to do the work last start and didn’t quite finish it off when finishing sixth. He may appreciate the step back to the 1780 in this race. He has had success at this track and trip previously. 

CHAP DADDY (8) got a long way back last start in the early stages from an awkward gate. 

ART JESTER (9) ran well two starts ago in a very strong race behind Regazzo Di Tilly and Air Express. This looks a lot easier and he can be finishing off strongly.

RACE 4 

ZACH LOWE (1) has the speed to dictate in the early stages. He was a good run last start into third from a long way back in the race. He is a good leader and should prove hard to catch. 

ROCK HAMMER (7) was able to secure a really good run on the leaders back last start. He worked away from the inside at the right time and was good enough to score. Looks likely to secure a similar run in this race and can be closing off strongly again late. 

IGNITE THE FIRE (4) did the work last start and hit the front early before just being reeled in late by Shes In Line who’d had the softer run. This race looks a touch deeper but she can be thereabouts again. 

FLO RYDA (9) didn’t have much luck last when struggling to find clear running until the race was over. He looks well suited again in this race and can be running on late.

RACE 5

FAVREAU (6) loomed into the race strongly and hit the front early in the straight before being run down late by in form stablemate Tiger Tommy. This looks another race which might generate a solid early tempo. 

SHES CLASSY (1) has very good gate speed and can likely dictate in the early stages. She was an impressive recent winner of a trot rods heat coming from 3 back the pegs and sprinting strongly. 

MILLIEWOOD (7) looks likely to secure a good run through in the early stages following a gate speed horse. Has been racing in good form and should be closing off well again. 

CELESTINE (8) started one of the market fancies last start over the trot rods trip and was beaten a long way out there finishing last. She may appreciate the back up in trip.

RACE 6 

IRK MCGLURK (3) did plenty of work in the early stages last start and was still running on nicely late once clear. This looks a race he might be able to work to the front and would prove very hard to run down. 

KIWI ROYALTY (1) has been able to secure an economical run her last two starts finishing second on both occasions. She again looks likely to secure a good run from the law draw and can be in the money again. 

PROSPECTUS (6) has taken on slightly strong fields her last two starts at Albion Park and drops back into an easier race here at Redcliffe. Starts from the widest gate which makes her bid for victory a bit tougher but should be in the finish with the tempo to suit. 

ALTANA BLUE (8) scored a good win three starts ago when closing over the top late in solid time at Marburg. He was able to secure a good run last start and ran into the placings again there.

RACE 7

CHEEKY BABY (3) hasn’t been far away in any of her races without having been able to break through for that elusive second victory. She led last start and was beaten by Isla Rochelle who may well be a handy enough filly. Draws to advantage over her key rivals and should get her chance. 

BOSTON CHIEF (4) was a dominant winner on debut three starts ago before taking on tougher company his latest two starts. He was seventh behind Fight For Victory in his latest start after being forced to work hard in that race. He has since trialled well behind Call It Bling. 

SHEROCKSMYWORLD (8) is returning from a spell without a trial in this race. She broke through for a maiden victory last time in at this track when coming from three back on the pegs there and sprinting up nicely to score. 

FLY BURRA (9) was shuffled a long way back in the early stages last start and finished strongly late to run second. This looks an easier assignment.

SUGGESTED BET: BOSTON CHIEF (4) to win. 

RACE 8

MISTER DELWIN (5) was forced to do plenty of work last start and was well beaten late but was entitled to tire given the work he’d done in the race. This looks a race he could potentially even work to the front in and would prove hard to beat if he did. 

SIGNOR JUJON (1) has options from the good draw in this race. He seems to do his best work when able to obtain a trail which he gets the opportunity to do in this race should he choose to. Should be in the finish. 

GOTTA DREAM (7) made up nice ground last start behind Shezamaterialgirl. Look to get a good run through in the early stages of this race. 

TRACER BULLET (9) can do work in his races and lands in suitable company. He was forced to work hard last start and came in at the rear of the field.

RACE 9

MY SCIMITAR (2) will find this significantly easier than some of his recent outings. He took on a race won by Vintage Edition two runs ago before running on strongly in behind Our Ultimate Jessy. Can be driven a number of ways from the good gate. 

OHOKAREDROBINJUJON (9) is having his first start for the stable of Trent Moffat. He has trialled reasonably twice ahead of a return and can be making up good ground late in this race. 

ERAMUS (8) has seemingly improved each time at the races. Battled away nicely last start behind Sweet Lad Jujon running second with a big gap to third in that race. 

PINKCHAMPAGNE (6) is likely to find this much easier than recent outings when taking on Planet Downs two starts ago before taking on Isla Rochelle last start. This race appears to have less depth and she might be able to do some work.

RACE 10

IMA BALLERINA (2) showed good gate speed first up before handing over the lead to Freelance Dancer. Worked hard in the early stages and just got tired in that race. Sat without cover last start at Marburg and battled on for a solid third there. Should be fitter third up and would prove hard to catch if able to lead. 

OUR AUNTY PENNY (1) was forced to work last start and just over raced there when finishing midfield. She draws to do no work and get a really good run in this race. 

LOUARK (4) has been solid in two career starts to date not beaten far on each occasion. Looks to have drawn an awkward gate in this race potentially being forced to work or getting back in the run. 

THE POST GIRL (9) battled on well behind Animore and Uncut Gem first up from a spell. Finished off nicely last start behind Sooty Under Fire at Marburg to get into second.
