Form Analysis: Redcliffe May 7

8 May 2025

RACE 1

CELESTINE (1) is a gate speed horse that’s been in great form recently. Was a narrow second last start to Tobefairtoyou which followed a second to Bettys Gold Class her start prior when leading. Looks a horse that’s likely to be suited to the Trot Rods format.

SWEET LAD JUJON (2) has options in the early stages having drawn alongside a horse with very good gate speed. He was a dominant winner last start controlling the race and dashing away for a big victory there.

REDS STAR DEAL (4) swept into it and loomed as a big threat to Prince Joy before just peaking on his run and finishing third last start in what was a solid run. Has previously has success over this journey and should be in the money again.

GOODTIME CRACKER (5) hasn’t had any favours when it comes to the draw in this race but is racing well.

SELECTIONS: CELESTINE (1), SWEET LAD JUJON (2), REDS STAR DEAL (4), GOODTIME CRACKER (5)

SUGGESTED BET: CELESTINE (1) to win.

RACE 2

RAINBOW TITAN (2) trialled just fairly recently albeit in what was a strong enough trial field. Has previously shown good gate speed and if he found the top he’d be hard to beat.

NAUTIE GALVINATOR (3) was a very good effort last start when leading and running along the whole way over 2040. Steps back to tackle the 947 trip in which he is likely capable of doing some work.

SHARDS MATRIX (6) is one of the class horses in the field but hasn’t quite been at his absolute best in recent times. Would appreciate a nice run into the race and can be thereabouts at the finish.

SHEVCHENKO (5) was disappointing last start when beaten 43.8 metres but it was later noted she had been treated for a cough shortly prior to the race and that may have been detrimental to her performance.

SELECTIONS: RAINBOW TITAN (2), NAUTIE GALVINATOR (3), SHARDS MATRIX (6), SHEVCHENKO (5)

SUGGESTED BET: NAUTIE GALVINATOR (3) to win.

RACE 3

SHEREACTS (5) was a very good run three starts ago worked hard for the lead and battled on impressively to not be beaten far. She didn’t have the best of luck last start when drawing inside back row.

GRIGORA (8) took on a stronger race two back won by Allegretto and was well beaten but was a solid enough effort for this type of race.

TAYLORS FOUR (4) is having her first start for a new stable in this race. Is a capable horse and her best would certainly be competitive.

PRETTY LITTLE LIAR (6) is first up off a solid trial recently. She will need luck from a wide gate.

SELECTIONS: SHEREACTS (5), GRIGORA (8), TAYLORS FOUR (4), PRETTY LITTLE LIAR (6)

SUGGESTED BET:

RACE 4

BETTERTHANPOPSY (6) looks the standout class wise in this field. He was sixth behind Air Express two back behind running seventh behind Lochinvar Jag last start. This race looks a lot more suitable despite the wide draw.

GEM PUNTER PETE (4) has some early speed and there’s some chance he could work to the top. Would likely prove very hard to catch if able to lead off the back of a really solid run of form.

ZOOM PARTY (3) has very good early speed and finds a race there’s not much gate speed underneath him. If he can launch across early he has options from there and should be in the finish.

ACHROMATIC (1) isn’t a horse blessed with great gate speed but should be benefited by drawing gate one at the 2040 start point. If she does lead she’d prove very hard to beat.

SELECTIONS: BETTERTHANPOPSY (6), GEM PUNTER PETE (4), ZOOM PARTY (3), ACHROMATIC (1)

SUGGESTED BET: GEM PUNTER PETE (4) to win.

RACE 5

ONE LAST ROLL (3) showed speed at the start and won easily in a heat of the Trot Rods series recently. Lands in a race he might be able to launch onto the front in and if he did that he’d prove extremely hard to catch.

DONT FEAR FOR ME (1) has drawn well in gate one but there has to be somewhat of a query on whether this will be an ideal gate 100 metres after the start. If he’s able to hold the lead he’d prove extremely hard to catch. Can still prove hard to beat from a trail after a good run last start.

GET ME OUTTA HERE (9) made up really strong ground last start from a long way back in a dash home behind Oyster Stride. Is better served from an improved gate in this race and should be better for the run last start.

SHES CLASSY (8) was a very impressive Trot Rods winner last start after seeing a gap up the sprint lane and powering away late. Draws to do no work early in this race.

SELECTIONS: ONE LAST ROLL (3), DONT FEAR FOR ME (1), GET ME OUTTA HERE (9), SHES CLASSY (8)

SUGGESTED BET: ONE LAST ROLL (3) to win.

RACE 6

GOT THE GLOW (6) made a break at the start last start when drawn inside the back row. She was tailed off with seemingly little to no chance of even beating a single runner and she’s put in an incredible run to get into fifth coming widest on the track late. If she’s on her best behaviour she will be very hard to hold out.

FITY EACH WAY (9) took on a stronger field two starts ago and was able to run into third there after find a position on the pegs. Last start she was luckless when being shuffled back and forced to come widest late when running into fourth.

TOGETHER WE PLAY (5) resumes in this race after two good efforts in two career starts to date. Will need to navigate a wide draw and lands in a solid race.

FREELANCE DANCER (8) scored her maiden victory last start after finding the front. Won’t find the front in this race and it looks a more competitive field. Will need the right run.

SELECTIONS: GOT THE GLOW (6), FITY EACH WAY (9), TOGETHER WE PLAY (5), FREELANCE DANCER (8)

SUGGESTED BET: GOT THE GLOW (6) to win.

RACE 7

WHOS WATCHING LILY (1) took on a heat of the trot rods last start when starting from a wide gate and running fourth. Her start prior she was left without cover and was well beaten. She draws to lead in this race and steps back to the 1780 journey which could be suitable.

SHES IN LINE (8) was stood down to trial after being beaten 92.4 metres in her last race start. She worked far too hard there and was entitled to tire. She has since trialled up quite nicely and looks well placed in this company.

IGNITE THE FIRE (6) has had two trials ahead of a return for new trainer Alex Johnson. She has been impressive in those trials sitting without cover in the latest trial and battling on for second behind Pretty Little Liar.

MILLIEWOOD (2) put in a good run two starts ago when close up behind Prince Joy in good time. Last start sat close to a solid speed and just battled away late.

SELECTIONS: WHOS WATCHING LILY (1), SHES IN LINE (8), IGNITE THE FIRE (6), MILLIEWOOD (2)

SUGGESTED BET: SHES IN LINE (8) to win.

RACE 8

PERFECT FEELING (8) was a dominant winner in a Trot Rods heat last start. He sat without cover his start prior and was beaten just 5.3 metres behind Hoiho. This race looks very suitable.

HIGHWAY WRITER (2) led last start over the 2040 journey in a similar race and battled on well for second. Steps back to the 1780 here and is likely to prove hard to catch if able to lead again.

BOKHARI (1) was first up from a spell last start and sat leaders back before running fourth. This looks a similar race and he should have derived benefit from that first up effort.

MATAI REACTOR (5) got well back in the run last start and finished off fairly there. He will need the tempo to suit in this race.

SELECTIONS: PERFECT FEELING (8), HIGHWAY WRITER (2), BOKHARI (1), MATAI REACTOR (5)

SUGGESTED BET: PERFECT FEELING (8) to win.
