Form Analysis: Redcliffe May 8

8 May 2025

RACE 1

UNCUT GEM (5) started inside the back row last start and ended up 3 back on the pegs there. Appeared to be travelling easily with nowhere to go. Showed good gate speed two runs ago and may use that in this race to find a prominent position.

TACTICAL ILLUSION (3) showed gate speed last start to find the top before rolling along the last 1200 and was just nabbed late by the horse that had the cold sit on her back. Looks another race she might be able to find the peg line and would be hard to beat from there.

MISS BLUETRUMP (2) looked impressive in an educational trial running through the line nicely before being restrained onto the pegs from a wide gate in a qualifying trial and going to the line travelling easily. Draws a good gate on debut and should be thereabouts.

THEFAULTINMYSTARS (7) was an impressive debut last start. Did plenty of work there and was good enough to battle on for fourth.

SELECTIONS: UNCUT GEM (5), TACTICAL ILLUSION (3), MISS BLUETRUMP (2), THEFAULTINMYSTARS (7)

SUGGESTED BET: TACTICAL ILLUSION (3) to win.

RACE 2

SHEZAMATERIALGIRL (3) has good gate speed and ran a good race two starts ago at Redcliffe before being luckless last start at Marburg. If she can launch onto the front she’d prove hard to catch.

KIWI ROYALTY (1) ran an improved race last start when driven quietly early. Can secure a similarly economical run in this race and should be thereabouts again.

CONNIES SPIRIT (7) should get a good run through in the early stages on the back of Kiwi Royalty. She has a nice turn of foot when able to secure a soft run throughout.

MISTER DELWIN (6) ran on strongly last start and was just nabbed late by Tackas Last Dance. Will likely need the race run to suit or will be forced to work from the wide gate.

SELECTIONS: SHEZAMATERIALGIRL (3), KIWI ROYALTY (1), CONNIES SPIRIT (7), MISTER DELWIN (6)

SUGGESTED BET: CONNIES SPIRIT (7) each way.

RACE 3

IRK MCGLURK (4) brings solid NSW form into this race and may find this company easier. Draws a somewhat awkward gate which could make things tricky in the early stages. Should be thereabouts if able to secure a good run in the race.

ABSOLUTELY STOKED (5) worked off the gate early last start and wasn’t beaten far behind Mullum Doc at Redcliffe. Looks to face a much more difficult task from a wide gate in this race but a similar effort to last start would see her competitive.

TULHURST SMOOCHER (8) didn’t have much luck last start after looking to work away from the pegs and locking stays. Should get a good run through early in this race and can be finishing off well late.

SHEZA LENNY (6) did plenty of work last start from a wide gate and wasn’t far away at the finish. Draws wide again and may be forced to work in this race again but this doesn’t look any tougher than recent outings.

SELECTIONS: IRK MCGLURK (4), ABSOLUTELY STOKED (5), TULHURST SMOOCHER (8), SHEZA LENNY (6)

SUGGESTED BET: IRK MCGLURK (4) to win

RACE 4

ILLBEWATCHING (2) found the front last start over the 2040 and rolled along the whole way there and was only just beaten by Good Word That in the concluding stages. He looks likely to find the top again in this race and should give a good sight again.

FAVREAU (5) was narrowly beaten two runs ago by Oyster Stride who was able to get things his own way out in front. Ran bother good race last start behind Doolittle Dexter and Misstrepo. Can be closing off strongly again late in this race.

YA RACIN ARLO (9) is a newcomer to the state for Tom Pay as driver and trainer. Numerical form doesn’t look good but his best form appears good enough for a race of this nature.

TIGER TOMMY (10) is racing well having finished in the top four her past six starts.

SELECTIONS: ILLBEWATCHING (2), FAVREAU (5), YA RACIN ARLO (9), TIGER TOMMY (10)

SUGGESTED BET: ILLBEWATCHING (2) to win.

RACE 5

OUR ULTIMATE JESSY (1) has the ideal draw in this race and appears to have moderate gate speed. If she can drive through and lead off her recent trial and latest race win at Penrith she looks hard to beat.

ALICE RHAYNE BOW (7) draws to follow through the likely favourite in the race. She has been racing consistently and may appreciate the softer trip after a run of two worse draws.

PERFECTLY QUIRKY (6) has very good gate speed but is faced by the widest gate. Has been racing well enough to figure with luck in running.

GLENEAGLE RULER (9) was well driven last start to nab the position behind the leader. Ran on into fourth late after the leader got tired.

SELECTIONS: OUR ULTIMATE JESSY (1), ALICE RHAYNE BOW (7), PERFECTLY QUIRKY (6), GLENEAGLE RULER (9)

SUGGESTED BET: ALICE RHAYNE BOW (7) to win.

RACE 6

OCTOBER RACKETEER (1) has good gate speed giving him options in the early stages. Ran a good second to Imxtraspecial four starts ago from the same gate he starts from in this race.

GOOD WORD THAT (9) was a last start winner when finishing best to score late at this track over Illbewatching. This race looks a touch tougher on face value but he is racing well and can figure with the right run.

THE HARRIS HAWK (10) scored a well deserved win last start when finishing over the top late. Looks to have landed in a slightly tougher race this time and has been done no favours by the draw.

RESERVE BANK (5) has been in stronger races her last two starts. Secured a good run last start from a good gate and battled well for third behind Theresachance. Her start prior she finished third behind Seaside Glory who has since won at Albion Park on a Saturday.

SELECTIONS: OCTOBER RACKETEER (1), GOOD WORD THAT (9), THE HARRIS HAWK (10), RESERVE BANK (5)

SUGGESTED BET: RESERVE BANK (5) each way.

RACE 7

CYCLONE TONY (1) was left 3 wide a long way out last start and did a very good job to battle on for fifth first up from a spell. He is likely to have derived plenty of benefit from that run given he was first up since November. He has good gate speed and should lead for a long way.

DREAM MELODY (2) led for a long way last start after showing good gate speed last start. She ran a 28.8 third quarter so was probably entitled to be a touch vulnerable late and the gap appeared for Theresachance who was good enough to score. Should secure a good run from the low draw.

MISSTREPO (6) has been in excellent form and was a good second again last start after sitting outside of Doolittle Dexter. She is likely to need to work again in this race from the wide gate.

JIVE MASTER (7) returns to QLD where he has previously had success at Redcliffe and is first up for new trainer Ben Battle. Looks likely to secure a good run through early.

SELECTIONS: CYCLONE TONY (1), DREAM MELODY (2), MISSTREPO (6), JIVE MASTER (7)

SUGGESTED BET: CYCLONE TONY (1) to win.

RACE 8

LITTLELIONELJAMES (1) took on a significantly stronger race two back at Albion Park where they set a strong tempo and recorded a fast mile rate of 1.54 for the 2138. He hasn’t done a lot of racing in recent times at the trip but has previously placed at the track and trip. He has good gate speed giving him options early.

BLACKJACK BART (9) is racing well and finished off nicely behind Birkirkara last start in what became a dash to the line. He races well over the middle distance and can be put into the race.

COTE DAZUR (5) led last start and was well beaten finishing eighth. He races best with a helmet to follow in the run and may have found a suitable race to be sat up and run home late. This race looks easier than the one he took on last start.

LORD MEMNOCK (7) has drawn well in this race and if he can do enough to drive through on the back of Littlelioneljames he shouldn’t be too far away in the run.

SELECTIONS: LITTLELIONELJAMES (1), BLACKJACK BART (9), COTE DAZUR (5), LORD MEMNOCK (7)

SUGGESTED BET:
