Increased prize money pool for QOTT Cup Final
Showjumpers from across the country will have even more incentive to compete in next year’s Queensland Off-The-Track Cup Final with the prize money pool increasing to $100,000.
The QOTT Cup Final will once again take centre stage during the Pacific Fair Magic Millions Polo and Showjumping on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at Doug Jennings Park on the Gold Coast.
It will be the third iteration of the QOTT Cup following a successful debut at the 2024 Magic Millions Carnival.
Competition is set to be even more fierce with the prize pool rising to $100,000, up from $75,000 earlier this year, with prize money being paid down to 20th place.
This year’s Final was taken out by Makaylah Fenwick and retired thoroughbred Rainbow Man.
The Queensland qualifying round for the 2026 QOTT Cup Final has also been announced and will be held at the Peachester Lodge Festival of Showjumping at the Queensland State Equestrian Centre at Caboolture on Sunday, June 22.
The details for the other state qualifiers will be confirmed later in the year.
QOTT Board Chairperson Dr Christine Johnson said the boost in prize money was a reflection of the growing popularity of showjumping across the country.
“Racing Queensland and Magic Millions committed from day one to continue to expand the Queensland Off-The-Track Cup,” Dr Johnson said.
“The increase in prizemoney to $100,000 reflects that commitment as we aim to recognise and incentivise equestrian men and women who invest in the retraining of retired racehorses for a showjumping career after racing.
“The Queensland Off-The-Track Cup awards the largest prizemoney pool in Australia for an individual showjumping class exclusively for retired racehorses.
“We look forward to welcoming all entrants at the first QOTT Cup qualifier on Sunday, June 22 at the Peachester Lodge Festival of Showjumping.”
The QOTT Cup Final will be held alongside the Juniors Individual Showjumping and the Seniors Team Showjumping, combining with a thrilling afternoon of Polo at the 2026 Magic Millions Polo & Showjumping.
Magic Millions co-owner Katie Page-Harvey said she was looking forward to welcoming participants back to the Gold Coast for the day of highly competitive showjumping.
“The Queensland Off-The-Track Cup prize money pool increase to $100,000 takes the overall showjumping prize money pool awarded at the Pacific Fair Magic Millions Polo & Showjumping to a remarkable $1.56 million – the largest prize money pool in Australia,” Ms Page-Harvey said.
“Magic Millions is grateful for the ongoing support of Racing Queensland and Queensland Off-The-Track to ensure we continue to expand the profile of the retrained thoroughbred racehorse and increase prizemoney incentives for the QOTT Cup.
“Good luck to all the Queensland entrants in June, and we look forward to welcoming the successful qualifiers to Magic Millions and the Gold Coast in January next year.”
Racing Queensland’s partnership with Magic Millions compliments the support available for all horse sport disciplines and levels of competition through the QOTT Event Sponsorship Program.
