Sunshine Coast Turf Club meeting update

Racing Queensland confirms that a back-up race meeting has been programmed for the Polytrack at Sunshine Coast Turf Club on Sunday, May 18, in the event the club’s race meeting on its course proper on the day is unable to proceed.  

The track is currently in the Heavy range and with favourable weather the meeting should proceed on the course proper.

In the event there is further rain which causes the track to become unsuitable for racing on, the Polytrack meeting will be introduced prior to 5pm, Saturday, May 17.

The back-up race meeting’s program is:

• Benchmark 68 Handicap, 1400m, $28,000;
• Benchmark 55 Handicap, 1400m, $28,000;
• Benchmark 68 Handicap, 1100m, $28,000;
• Benchmark 55 Handicap, 1100m, $28,000;
• Maiden Plate (Set Weights), 1600m, $30,000;
• Maiden Plate (Set Weights), 1100m, $30,000; 
• 3YO Maiden Plate (Set Weights), 1400m, $30,000 + QTIS bonuses; and
• 2YO Maiden Plate (Set Weights), 1000m, $30,000 + QTIS bonuses.

Deadlines for the meeting are as follows:

• Nominations: Thursday, noon;
• Acceptances: Friday, 10am; and
• Jockeys: Friday, noon.
