RACE 1

BARRETT (2) hasn’t led for quite some time in his career but finds a race where he might get another opportunity to control the race out in front. He did some work last start and raced off the pegs behind Congo Line and wasn’t beaten far. He is going well enough to take this out with the right run.

COTE DAZUR (1) has good gate speed giving him options from the good draw. He is seemingly a horse that does his best work with something to follow and last time he led he was quite well beaten which may mean he elects to take a trail in this race. Should be right in the finish if able to secure the right run.

GLENLEDI BOY (7) should get a good run through in the early stages on the back of a gate speed horse. He looks well graded in this race having often taken on stronger opposition including a Band 5 victory three starts ago.

BETTERTHAN POPSY (5) was third last start in a stand start at Albion Park behind Mossdale Terry. He was able to run well at this track when scoring in fast time over Gem Punter Pete three starts ago and a similar effort would likely see him competitive in this race.

SELECTIONS: BARRETT (2), COTE DAZUR (1), GLENLEDI BOY (7), BETTERTHAN POPSY (5)

SUGGESTED BET: GLENLEDI BOY (7) each way.

RACE 2

HES SWEET (2) was a good second behind Xpress Party two runs ago after racing off the pegs. He led last start and didn’t go to his best there when well beaten. He generally does all his best work when able to lead and can bounce back in this race if able to do so over the 1780.

SIR BRIGADOON (3) started from gate 1 last start and was crossed by one of the lesser chances ending up three back the pegs and had no luck when looking for clear running late. He appears to be racing into some better form of late and this race looks suitable if he can get the right run.

MISTER FONZI (1) has options from the good gate. He generally looks for a trail in his races and could get a really suitable trip in this race. He was restrained to the pegs two runs ago and was badly held up before eventually finishing off well when clear behind Hot Rod Harry.

NYOTA (8) dropped back in grade last start and was taken back to last on the fence there from a wide gate. She went to the line without clear running and appeared to have plenty to give late. She looks well graded in this race.

SELECTIONS: HES SWEET (2), SIR BRIGADOON (3), MISTER FONZI (1), NYOTA (8)

SUGGESTED BET: SIR BRIGADOON (3) each way.

RACE 3

MULLUM DOC (2) was one of the more impressive wins you’d ever see in this type of grade lasts start. He worked hard early couldn’t get to the pegs and over raced badly the whole way and was just too good for Tiger Tommy who had the cold sit on his back and couldn’t reel him in. He can lead this time and will take plenty of catching.

HELL OF A HAND (5) returned from a spell in a strong race two starts ago won by Little Bolt. She comes into this race third up from a spell and should be fitter for her first two outings. She would be suited by a solid early tempo and can be running on late.

MISSTREPO (9) worked to the breeze last start in a race that ended up being dominated by the runners up on speed on the pegs with the first three runners home all racing on the pegs. She starts on the back row in this race but is versatile and can be put into the race.

SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (1) comes into this race second up from a spell and should be fitter for the first up outing. He has generally does his best work when securing a soft run on the pegs so should be suited from the draw in this race.

SELECTIONS: MULLUM DOC (2), HELL OF A HAND (5), MISSTREPO (9), SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (1)

SUGGESTED BET: MULLUM DOC (2) to win.

RACE 4

MISSED CONSEQUENCES (5) led last start over the 1780 and was taken on almost the whole way by Mullum Doc who went on to win. She was still a solid enough effort to get into third after the way the race was run. She has good gate speed and shouldn’t be far away in the run.

UNCLE CRAIGO (7) hasn’t started since April and is first up for a new trainer in this race. He draws awkwardly inside the back row but with luck he should be thereabouts in this company.

SHEEZ GOT TORQUE (2) has good gate speed and might be able to work her way to the pegs in the early stages before having options from there. She led over the 1780 last start and was able to run third there.

ACCELERE (10) has seemingly returned to some of his better form. He took on what looked a strong race last start taken out by Mullum Doc in a race it was difficult to make up too much ground given the solid tempo throughout.

SELECTIONS: MISSED CONSEQUENCES (5), UNCLE CRAIGO (7), SHEEZ GOT TORQUE (2), ACCELERE (10)

SUGGESTED BET: MISSED CONSEQUENCES (5) to win.

RACE 5

ARKUNA (1) doesn’t have brilliant gate speed but was able to do enough to drive through and lead a Trot Rods race and was good enough to score there. She appeared to have every chance to finish in the placings after getting the run of the race on the leaders back last start but the race did get home a solid last half. If she could do enough to lead in this race she’d take beating.

THERESACHANCE (4) went back at the start last time out before running on solidly into third. He is best when able to find the lead in his races and would become the one to beat if he could cross in the early stages.

TIGER TOMMY (3) obtained the 1-1 trail on Mullum Doc last start in a race they ran along in. She appeared to have every possible chance to beat Mullum Doc who did all the work but she just wasn’t quite able to reel in that runner late. Should secure a good run again and should be running on strong again.

KEAYANG OMAR (5) started his career with a strong win when leading all of the way. Hasn’t quite had the same luck since that win. Last start he only just got into the clear late for third in what became a dash homme.

SELECTIONS: ARKUNA (1), THERESACHANCE (4), TIGER TOMMY (3), KEAYANG OMAR (5)

SUGGESTED BET: ARKUNA (1) to win.

RACE 6

OUR LUCY LOU (10) scored an impressive win last start to begin her career when running down Twilight Tango late. She steps right up in grade to take on this race having not elected to take on restricted win company but the way she won that race she is likely to be hard to beat again.

JUST A COOL DUDE (4) raced off the pegs last start in a heat of the QBRED Breeders Classic and was making up good late ground behind Braventreacherous. He draws somewhat awkwardly in this gate in gate 4 and doesn’t appear to have great gate speed.

FAVREAU (6) got into an awkward position last start and was shuffled to the rear of the field before he was able to get out and make his run. He is rarely far away and if the tempo suits he can be running on late.

GRIGORA (5) is consistent and rarely far away when the race is run to suit without often winning. He was able to secure the right run two starts ago at Albion Park and finished third behind Botticelli.

SELECTIONS: OUR LUCY LOU (10), JUST A COOL DUDE (4), FAVREAU (6), GRIGORA (5)

SUGGESTED BET: OUR LUCY LOU (10) to win.

RACE 7

OUR SWEET JESS (6) took on a heat of the QBRED Breeders Classic last start and was well beaten after getting back in the early stages. She draws wide in this race but does have very good gate speed and may look to get forward in this race.

TWILIGHT TANGO (9) led two starts ago and was just run down late by the horse that had the run on her back. She was forced to do plenty of work last start and just faded late into third behind Bronx. She draws to do no work early and can be running on late.

FRANCS FOR COMING (2) has good gate speed and might be first to the pegs in the early stages. He scored his maiden win last start on his fourteenth attempt when leading all of the way at Bendigo.

TWOSIPSALLY (4) showed decent gate speed last start to be first down to the pegs before taking the trail on Im Alby. Once pulled into the clear she picked up well to score her maiden victory.

SELECTIONS: OUR SWEET JESS (6), TWILIGHT TANGO (9), FRANCS FOR COMING (2), TWOSIPSALLY (4)

SUGGESTED BET: OUR SWEET JESS (6) to win.

RACE 8

JUKEBOX JET (2) has been in impressive form recently with a win and a second placing to his name in his last two starts. His latest run he was able to run home over the top late to score narrowly which followed up a nice run when making the first move 3 wide over the 2040. Draws well again and should be hard to beat.

BETTING BARON (1) did all the work last start after making a mid-race move to the breeze he battled on gamely. This time he draws to lead and over the short course he will take some catching out in front.

PERFECT FEELING (3) was a dominant winner of a Trot Rods heat five starts ago when leading all of the way. Draws reasonably in this race and generally likes to get forward in his races. Should be thereabouts again.

PROSPECTUS (6) draws widest in this race but her best form is certainly good enough to figure in a race of this nature. She would appreciate a solid early tempo and can be running on late.

SELECTIONS: JUKEBOX JET (2), BETTING BARON (1), PERFECT FEELING (3), PROSPECTUS (6)

SUGGESTED BET: JUKEBOX JET (2) to win.

RACE 9

MULLUM ARETHA (1) showed good gate speed last start to hold the lead and was just run down late by Our Ultimate Jessy who has since run well. She was first up there and is likely to be better for the run and can lead again from the good draw.

BLAZING TART (3) did things wrong first up from a spell after just a moderate trial. She showed good ability last time in and if she can recapture some of that form she can be hard to beat in this race.

SWIFTIE (6) is first up in QLD having previously raced in WA. Trialled reasonably in a recent trial at Albion Park albeit in what was a very slowly run trial. She draws widest in this race and may need the run first up.

IM ALBY (8) led last start at Redcliffe and was run down late by Twosipsally. He appeared to take some driving throughout the race to keep his mind on the job and may be better suited at this stage to racing with cover.

SELECTIONS: MULLUM ARETHA (1), BLAZING TART (3), SWIFTIE (6), IM ALBY (8)

SUGGESTED BET: MULLUM ARETHA (1) to win.

RACE 10

MY ULTIMATE ZANDER (8) was an impressive run in a heat of the QBRED Breeders Classic series when flashing into third there in what was a much stronger race than this. He then did things wrong in the final of that series. Dropping back into a maiden he should be extremely hard to beat.

HEAVENSENT (4) has good gate speed and might be able to zip across early in this race. She handed over the lead in the consolation of the QBRED Breeders Classic to Sweet Nellie Joy who she couldn’t quite reel in late.

UNCANCALLMEAL (3) went around as favourite on debut at Albion Park and was doing his best work late in a slowly run race. Should be better for the experience and would appreciate a more genuinely run race.

AUNTY CODY (6) was a good run on debut when working in the breeze before running a good second just beaten by a horse that had done no work. She is likely to be better for that outing and looks one for the minor money in this race.

SELECTIONS: MY ULTIMATE ZANDER (8), HEAVENSENT (4), UNCANCALLMEAL (3), AUNTY CODY (6)

SUGGESTED BET: HEAVENSENT (4) to place.
