RACE 1

UNIT FORTY ONE (6) was a brilliant winner two starts ago when sweeping home over the top to nab October Racketeer with a big gap to third. That horse he beat there has since won. He didn’t have the race run to suit last time when getting back in a slowly run race.

COPY WRITER (7) follows out a gate speed horse in the race and should get a good run through. She is seemingly a horse that’s more high speed than she is tough but she sustained a long run around them two starts ago and wasn’t beaten far suggesting she is racing well. Should be thereabouts with even luck in running.

ZAC DANIELS (9) took on a heat of the QBRED Breeders Classic last start won by Hell Im Smooth. He was well beaten there but this is a big step back in grade and he draws suitably on the back row to do no work early. Should be hard to hold out late.

HOIHO (1) has good gate speed and should land in front in the early stages. He worked to the lead two starts ago and was only narrowly beaten by Jukebox Jet who has since won again.

SELECTIONS: UNIT FORTY ONE (6), COPY WRITER (7), ZAC DANIELS (9), HOIHO (1)

SUGGESTED BET: COPY WRITER (7) each way.

RACE 2

STUDLEIGH MARK (10) is usually a horse that does his best work up on speed and has very good gate speed so the outside back row doesn’t look ideal. He does look well placed in this company having taken on much stronger races in recent starts including running a good second to Ignite The Fire two starts ago. He can be saved up for one run at them and should be closing strongly late.

SIX TIMES A LADY (8) was a good winner three starts ago at Albion Park when leading all the way in solid time. She got a long way back two starts ago in a race taken out by Sweet Options. This looks more suitable and she looks one of the better chances.

WEHAVTIME (4) scored a dominant win two starts ago when securing the right run. Draws inside of his main rivals in this race and might be able to hold that advantage in the early stages.

PENNIE PACKER (5) has had a few weeks between runs which looks a query. Her latest run was good when closing strongly into the race and only beaten by Peejay Mack who has since won well at Albion Park. She draws awkwardly but can’t be ruled out.

SELECTIONS: STUDLEIGH MARK (10), SIX TIMES A LADY (8), WEHAVTIME (4), PENNIE PACKER (5)

SUGGESTED BET: STUDLEIGH MARK (10) to win.

RACE 3

WHOS WATCHING LILY (1) didn’t have much luck when checked at the start before being badly held up at a crucial stage before finishing off well enough once clear. She has good gate speed and at the 2040 start point should have options in the early stages.

BETTYS GOLD CLASS (7) looks likely to get a good run through in the early stages of this race on the back of Whos Watching Lily. She has had plenty of success when racing behind the leader and has a sharp turn of foot when able to secure that soft trip. Should be hard to hold out.

TAYLORS FOUR (4) is having her fourth run for the John McMullen stable. Has been good in her first three runs for the stable not beaten far by Imani last start and third to Brookfields Beauty the start prior. This looks the easiest race she has taken on in a while and should be thereabouts with the right run.

SHEREACTS (5) ran third at Marburg last start behind Splashndash in fast time for the grade. Draws wide in this race but she is versatile and can do work in her races.

SELECTIONS: WHOS WATCHING LILY (1), BETTYS GOLD CLASS (7), TAYLORS FOUR (4), SHEREACTS (5)

SUGGESTED BET: BETTYS GOLD CLASS (7) to win.

RACE 4

FOR NO REASON (5) was a dominant winner at Marburg four starts ago when leading all the way over the 2200 in near track record time. Her runs since haven’t been quite as good sitting on the back of Splashndash last start at Marburg before pulling into the clear and failing to run on when finishing sixth. Her best may just be too good for these.

SAMMYS SECRET (1) was shuffled back early from an awkward gate last time out before hitting the line strongly late up the inside. He should be nearing peak fitness now and draws ideally in gate 1. He likely has the gate speed to dictate in the early stages and should be thereabouts.

DON’T FEAR FOR ME (6) was a good winner last start when closing over the too late. That was his fourth run back from a spell and he is likely to be nearing peak fitness now. Has always had good ability and seems to be putting it all together now on a more regular basis.

GHOST TRAIN (7) draws awkwardly inside the back row. She led and won easily two starts ago over the 2040 at this track and then was a month between runs when racing last start. Should be better for the run there and can go well in this race.

SELECTIONS: FOR NO REASON (5), SAMMYS SECRET (1), DON’T FEAR FOR ME (6), GHOST TRAIN (7)

SUGGESTED BET: FOR NO REASON (5) to win.

RACE 5

WEE BONNIE (8) raced three back on the pegs last start at Marburg and had no luck there when badly held up at a crucial stage. She had raced reasonably well in the heat and consolation of the QBRED Breeders Classic series for the 3YO fillies. This looks easier and she should get a great run through at the start.

BELMER BETTY (2) put in a solid run last start when racing behind Cullectingcardles and battling away well enough for third there. She has reasonable gate speed and if she was able to find the front in this race she would give them something to catch.

ELIARN (4) took on a very strong restricted wins race last start won by Post Painter and was well beaten but put in a really good run considering the time and class of the first three runners home there. She is likely to get back from the awkward gate but should be finishing off well late.

TEQUILA EN ICE (3) led and won comfortably enough three starts ago at this track. Did too much work last start while over racing and was well beaten there but he had excuses. If he can secure a good run he can bounce back.

SELECTIONS: WEE BONNIE (8), BELMER BETTY (2), ELIARN (4), TEQUILA EN ICE (3)

SUGGESTED BET: WEE BONNIE (8) to win

RACE 6

CONVAIR HUSTLER (1) has good gate speed and should have the speed to hold in this race. He was a strong winner recently at this track when leading all the way five starts ago. He led two starts ago at Marburg and was only run down late by Saint Louis Beat.

GELDOF (8) was a winner four starts ago when racing at Albion Park. He took on Llanfair Llewellan last start and was well beaten but this race looks a lot easier. He draws reasonably to do no work early and can be running on late.

NIGHT NINJA (4) started inside the back row last start at Marburg and appeared to have plenty to give and nowhere to go up the home straight behind October Racketeer. He draws awkwardly this time and may get back but does have a very nice turn of foot when he is racing well.

DOOLITTLE DAYS (7) could secure a good run on the leaders back in this race. Should get a great run through early and getting a run where she does no work should give her every chance to fill a position in the minor money.

SELECTIONS: CONVAIR HUSTLER (1), GELDOF (8), NIGHT NINJA (4), DOOLITTLE DAYS (7)

SUGGESTED BET: CONVAIR HUSTLER (1) to win.

RACE 7

HEAVENS BABY (9) worked hardly early last start but wasn’t quite able to get across to the pegs. She finished off reasonably despite the early work she had done and looks hard to beat in what appears a much easier race.

LESVOS LAD (2) started inside the back row last start and ran on well when finishing just behind Ideal Tiger who has since won again. He isn’t a horse with great gate speed but does draw favourably in this race and shouldn’t be too far away early.

MAGIC NITRO (7) draws awkwardly inside the back row behind a horse that’s likely to be longer odds. She raced two two runs ago not beaten far after facing the breeze which has never been her preferred racing pattern. If she gets any luck she should be finishing off well.

BEYONSKI (3) secured a good run on the leaders back last start at Marburg behind Todays Hero. Draws wider out this time and may get back in the run.

SELECTIONS: HEAVENS BABY (9), LESVOS LAD (2), MAGIC NITRO (7), BEYONSKI (3)

SUGGESTED BET: HEAVENS BABY (9) to win.

RACE 8

TULHURST SMOOCHER (5) brings the best form into this race with a second to Scruffy at Marburg two runs ago in fast time for the grade. She might be able to push forward at the start and if she found the front she would prove hard to beat in this company.

HAWK EYE (6) was a big improver two runs ago when battling away much better to be beaten 12.6 metres in what was probably a slightly stronger race. She was very poor last start when beaten a big margin at Marburg. Her best is well and truly good enough.

CHAMPAGNE REACTOR (1) has good gate speed and can dictate in the early stages. She generally does her best work with something to follow which she was able to achieve last start then second to Typhoon Torque.

BERTILS FIREFOX (4) hasn’t been at his best in recent outings. He should be nearing peak fitness and drops back into a race that seemingly lacks depth. Should be an improver in this race.

SELECTIONS: TULHURST SMOOCHER (5), HAWK EYE (6), CHAMPAGNE REACTOR (1), BERTILS FIREFOX (4)

SUGGESTED BET: TULHURST SMOOCHER (5) to win.

RACE 9

DIAMANTINA DAISY (9) put in a good run last start when having her second career start finding the fence early and driving through late for second. Draws outside the back row this time but this doesn’t look an overly strong maiden and she should be better for the experience last time out.

IMA BALLERINA (8) has had a few chances to break her maiden and just hasn’t quite been able to break through in her 16 starts. She draws to do no work in this race early which may suit. She was forced to work last start at Marburg before finding the front and over racing.

THE POST GIRL (6) took on a lightly stronger maiden won by Lustre last start at this track. She left the gate reasonably before finding a position 3 back on the pegs and battled away fairly well for fourth.

FUNTIMES (1) has moderate gate speed and may be able to do enough to drive through and lead in this race. She was first up from a spell last start at Marburg and battled away well enough behind Digby Devil when not having the clearest passage up the straight.

SELECTIONS: DIAMANTINA DAISY (9), IMA BALLERINA (8), THE POST GIRL (6), FUNTIMES (1)

SUGGESTED BET: DIAMANTINA DAISY (9) to win.
