RACE 1

FARROKH (5) started from the widest gate last start in a similar race last week running on strongly into second. He may get back in the run again from the wide gate in this race but was impressive enough first up and should definitely be better for the run there. Looks hardest to beat.

BUSTER DAN (3) was able to run down Down South Daisy last time out for third after getting dragged out the race at a crucial stage. He is likely to be suited by the small field and should he get a better run into the race this time he can figure in the finish again.

JUSTABITLIKETHIS (4) showed ability early as a 2YO and just hasn’t quite been able to replicate those efforts since. She returns in this race having trialled reasonably two trials ago finishing alongside Iconic Image who was a winner last week of the 2YO trot on Thursday.

SELECTIONS: FARROKH (5), BUSTER DAN (3), JUSTABITLIKETHIS (4)

SUGGESTED BET: FARROKH (5) to win.

RACE 2

FENOMENAL (12) worked hard last start outside of Dhoni Trouble had had a 10 metre handicap advantage and was able to make the most of that to score. He had been racing in heats of the Inter Dominion his two runs prior including a solid run in the 2138 heat where he wasn’t beaten far. He is the class runner and should be in the finish again.

MY RUMOUR HAS IT (8) was able to step quickly and find the front in the race and never looked like losing after that leading all the way. She is usually a reliable fast beginner but did make a break at the start two starts ago and was very good to be beaten as far as she was in the end.

VOLTAIN (3) is rarely far away in races and looks to be well handicapped again in this race. If she can step quickly and land a good position up on speed she should be running into the money again.

FLASH KYVALLEY (9) was an eye catching run two back when first up in the state flashing into fifth late. He then ran well again last start when second up running third. He’s likely to be nearing peak fitness in this race third up and should be hard to hold out late.

SELECTIONS: FENOMENAL (12), MY RUMOUR HAS IT (8), VOLTAIN (3), FLASH KYVALLEY (9)

SUGGESTED BET: FLASH KYVALLEY (9) each way.

RACE 3

STUNNING STRANGER (2) took on a strong trial field recently and wasn’t beaten too far after working to the lead. He appeared to run the gate well in that trial which might mean he can work to the front in this race and give them something to catch from the good draw.

GOTTAGO BARNEY (6) made a break at the start last time out and took no part in the race. Had been impressive in a recent trial when appearing to travel easily in behind them with nowhere to go. If he brings his best manners this time he could be hard to beat.

ELKA ANGEL (8) draws to get a soft run through in the early stages having impressed in her two runs back this time in. She ran a close up second behind Duke Of Argyle last start at this track and trip. If the luck comes at the right time she can be in the finish again.

MYSTICAL DRAGON (4) was on debut last start when drawing a wide gate and getting a long way back in the run. He was doing his best work through the line and should be better for the experience on debut as well as the improved draw in this race.

SELECTIONS: STUNNING STRANGER (2), GOTTAGO BARNEY (6), ELKA ANGEL (8), MYSTICAL DRAGON (4)

SUGGESTED BET: ELKA ANGEL (8) each way.

RACE 4

LOVIN MISS DIXIE (6) has excellent gate speed and showed that last start find the front before being run down by Whykikamoocow late. She rated good time for the grade there at Redcliffe. If she can lead again she could be hard to run down this time.

BETTORS MOON (10) took on a much stronger race last start won by Captain Bart where she was off the pegs and working in the fastest sectionals of the race. She drops right back in grade here and can probably be put into the race this time. Can bounce back.

FULL OF CHARM (3) has been in better races in recent starts including a fourth behind Decipher two back at this track before a third last start behind Sabala after starting from the inside gate. She will find this race easier and shouldn’t be too far away from the good gate.

HEZA MAYWYN (9) returns from a spell in this race and looks well graded. Trialled sharply behind Bettor Cullect in a recent trial where he was driven quietly before hitting the line well late.

SELECTIONS: LOVIN MISS DIXIE (6), BETTORS MOON (10), FULL OF CHARM (3), HEZA MAYWYN (9)

SUGGESTED BET: LOVIN MISS DIXIE (6) to win.

RACE 5

LA MIKI (7) took on the Oaks last start and was very competitive there beaten 10 metres running a fast last personal half sectionally. She drops right back in grade in this company and looks the clear standout on class. She draws widest which looks to set her a difficult task but off recent efforts she should be up to it and can win with luck in running.

MACKLEMORE CHEX (2) was second behind Captain Bart last start after sitting on the leaders back. He has moderate early speed and seems to be improving each time he steps out. If he could find the front he would be hard to catch.

GREAT WHITE (1) led last start and showed greenness failing to quicken initially when challenged before seemingly holding the margin right down to the line kicking back well once headed. He might be better following and could be an improver stepping out the 2138 journey.

IMANI (8) hit the line strongly two starts ago when sitting back in the field in a quickly run race when over a month between runs there. She then took on a harder race last start won by Captain Bart and wasn’t suited there. This draw looks suitable doing no work early.

SELECTIONS: LA MIKI (7), MACKLEMORE CHEX (2), GREAT WHITE (1), IMANI (8)

SUGGESTED BET: GREAT WHITE (1) each way.

RACE 6

FIRE AND PASSION (7) had no luck last start when starting one of the favourites in the $500,00 Ladbrokes Protostar he was badly checked early and things didn’t go his way after that. He was an impressive winner of the Paleface Adios his start prior finding the front and zipping home a quick last quarter of 26.2. He is clearly hardest to beat in this race and is likely to go around a short-priced favourite.

RED BULL BERNIE (1) was able to score a strong win three starts ago when sitting outside the leader at this track. He’s since run two good races finishing second and third at this track behind the likely short priced favourite in this race Fire and Passion both times.

TIMMYTEO (5) trialled up smartly recently beating Barsby in a 1.54.7 mile rate running home a sharp last half. He has good early speed and might look to get forward in this race. If he could find the fence he’d be a strong chance of finishing in the money.

JAMES ALFRED (9) finished second to stablemate Barsby in a recent trial. He has won twice including a win that came in a heat of the Qbred Breeders 2YO colts and gelding series. He can be running on strong late in this race from a good draw.

SELECTIONS: FIRE AND PASSION (7), RED BULL BERNIE (1), TIMMYTEO (5), JAMES ALFRED (9)

SUGGESTED BET: FIRE AND PASSION (7) to win.

RACE 7

RUBY RULES (3) had very good early speed this filly and may look to zip across to the lead before having options. It would usually be quite a big ask for a filly to take on the older horses but she has shown well above average ability throughout her career including a fifth beaten just 2 metres in the South East Oaks three starts ago and a close up third two starts ago in the Oaks Qualifier behind Soho Americano after doing the work. She was too bad to be true last start dropping out after racing on the pegs and might have just been too keen there.

HOT ROD HARRY (5) ran into third last start behind Darin in quick enough time for the grade. He is a horse with a sharp turn of foot and might be suited to racing over the 2138 journey should he get a suitable tempo and run into the race.

HELL IM SMOOTH (2) was able to win last start despite not finding the front early being forced to race off the pegs. He has moderate gate speed and if he found the front he’d likely be hard to beat. Having drawn well he should secure a good run however it plays out early.

POST PAINTER (7) has been impressive since landing in QLD landing three victories from 5 starts. She didn’t have much luck last start when starting inside the back row and never getting clear going to the line appearing to have plenty to give. She looks well placed in this company but does face an outside of the front row draw which will likely mean she needs to work at some stage.

SELECTIONS: RUBY RULES (3), HOT ROD HARRY (5), HELL IM SMOOTH (2), POST PAINTER (7)

SUGGESTED BET:

RACE 8

CHARGE AHEAD (10) took on the 4YO Championship last start taken out by The Janitor who led and controlled things to suit. Charge Ahead was able to make up good ground after securing the right run in the race to get into fourth there. He drops back considerably in grade and may be put into the race at some stage.

MY ULTIMATE BUDDHA (4) has excellent gate speed and might be suited by the step back to the mile and good front row draw. He draws the best of the main chances and may be able to zip across to the lead. If he found the front he’d give them something to catch.

OUR SUNSET DELIGHT (9) was suited two runs ago when running on over the top after sitting off a strong tempo. He beat Dragon in that race who has since gone on to win recently at Albion Park. He looks suited by the draw and if there is tempo in the early stages he can be running into the finish again.

O B LEGAL (6) worked off the gate to sit outside the leader after not showing his customary gate speed in the early stages. He draws wide again in this race and looks an awkward draw where he may need to do work but isn’t ideally suited under those circumstances. Will need luck.

SELECTIONS: CHARGE AHEAD (10), MY ULTIMATE BUDDHA (4), OUR SUNSET DELIGHT (9), O B LEGAL (6)

SUGGESTED BET: MY ULTIMATE BUDDHA (4) to win.

RACE 9

I GOT CHILLS (3) was able to zip off the gate early last start to take the lead off Toro Loco at this track. He then controlled the race through the first half was able to zip away and score a comfortable win leading all the way. He draws a low gate in this race but does have some gate speed to his inside.

APHRODITE (2) is a gate speed horse that loves to lead. She generally gets away best when drawn between horses which she is in this race and with the stablemate drawn to her inside she may be able to work to the lead.

KNOW THE SCORE (1) was close up in the finish last start after racing off the pegs at Albion Park in what became a dash home after horses up on speed had controlled the race won by Rock Hammer. He did early work two starts ago in a race taken out by Jive Master and was well beaten there. Could secure a more economical run this time and be in the finish late.

HARPERVILLE (8) loomed into the race strongly last start before locking wheels and making a break. She then took on a strong trial at Albion Park won by Bad Habits in 1.51.6 where she was only beaten 24.6 metres.

SELECTIONS: I GOT CHILLS (3), APHRODITE (2), KNOW THE SCORE (1), HARPERVILLE (8)

SUGGESTED BET: I GOT CHILLS (3) to win.

RACE 10

MAJOR JELLIS (5) burned hard early in one of the fastest lead times I’ve ever seen at Albion Park before battling on well not to be beaten too far in eighth. He then found the front over the mile last start and was good enough to run third there behind Betterthanarocket who had raced off the speed in that race.

HE AINT FAKIN (7) ran a solid fourth two starts ago after starting from this same wide draw. He then did early work last start before obtaining a good run and finishing fourth again behind Betterthanarocket. He might be suited by the small field and can be in the money again.

LAST TIME JOE (4) was finishing off strongly out wide last start behind In Excess over the 1660. He is racing well and should be hard to beat stepping up to the 2138 in this race and back into veterans company.

OUR MAJOR DAY (2) has good early speed and worked hard two starts ago when getting quite keen early in a very fast lead time. He then drew poorly and didn’t have a lot of luck last start. Draws better in this race and can bounce back.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR JELLIS (5), HE AINT FAKIN (7), LAST TIME JOE (4), OUR MAJOR DAY (2)

SUGGESTED BET: HE AINT FAKIN (7) to win.
