RACE ONE

The consolation of The Rising Sun kicks off proceedings where CAPTAINS MISTRESS (1) can chase a bittersweet victory. The most notable admission from the big G1 feature later in the night, she dealt a super victory in the Redcliffe Oaks last time out. With all the options from this gate, she can extend her tremendous record.

 AIR EXPRESS (13) 
was in an unfamiliar spot last time when sitting parked at the mile as BIRKIRKARA carved out a 1.50.6 victory. Hanging tough, he was gallant in defeat when holding 3rd. A wide gate stung in the Queensland Sun the start prior and with good tempo expected, he can be issuing a closing challenge.

 ATTACHMENT (6) 
was first past the post in The Hayden last start but was demoted in the steward’s room. Charging home the start prior, he is in great form this term and is right in the mix.

 ROYAL CRUISER (11) 
has sat parked in his past two appearances where he has been forced to work first over outside DON HUGO and LEAP TO FAME. Back to these conditions, he can feature.

RACE TWO

The first heat of a rejigged Inter Dominion Series will see SURE THING CAPTAIN (4) tackle the most open of the three pacing heats. Never in danger over the mile last start when resuming from a break, he can press forward early for position and look to take the top points on offer.

 ALWAYS SMOKIN (3) 
did well to finish as close to the winner in the Redcliffe Cup as he did after being set alight to take control in some gut busting early sections. With his last three starts all from the tapes, a return to mobile conditions should be ideal and from this gate can challenge.

 SPEAK THE TRUTH (5) 
has looked to have had a mixed season on paper but comes into the Series with a win against his name. That was over this trip last week when overcoming a tricky second line gate in strong sectionals. He is right in the fight.

 BEACH BALL (9) 
had his first look at The Creek last start where he chased home for the bronze behind LEAP TO FAME. That was from inside the second line, and he can be chiming in again here.

RACE THREE

The defending ID champion will need to overcome the second line to claim his heat, but DON HUGO (10) should have enough edge on his opponents to start his defence with maximum points. He scored in a romp over the mile last time at Menangle and can start ID25 in style.

 JIMARTEE (1) 
has had a mixed season that has not been helped by bad barriers affecting the campaign. Gate 7 ended his chances last start when taken back early and unable to get into the contest against the tempo. An improve barrier right when it is needed is a huge asset here.

 NYACK (8) 
has been in great touch in recent starts and secures the mapping favours from inside the second line. Hitting the line strongly last start, he will be searching for gaps to chime in.

 BLACKSADANCE (5) 
was sent around from the second line to sit parked over this trip last start and was fighting hard when beaten a half-neck behind SPEAK THE TRUTH. He can get forward to feature.

RACE FOUR

A tricky barrier for the local Champion LEAP TO FAME (8) but this year has seen the now 6YO produce arguably some of the strongest performances of his career. Scoring an effortless victory last start from the front over the 2680m trip, he can find clear space and land win number 54.

 PETES SAID SO (2) 
overcame a 30m impost t take out a standing start event in the lead up to the Redcliffe Cup and set a track record with the victory. Luckless in the Cup when making an early error before catching the eye with a strong finishing burst, a good marble at the mobile can see him run a bold race.

 WISPER A SECRET (11) 
has struggled for a good barrier in 2025 and that continues here where a wide second line gate is presented. Running LEAP TO FAME to a half neck two starts back, he can feature prominently here.

 PINSEEKER (3) 
scored at Menangle on his way from NZ to this Series and lands a nice gate to kick off his attempt at flying the flag for the Kiwis. Limiting the early burn will aid his chances.

RACE FIVE 

Scoring a smart victory over this same distance at his first look at the track, OSCAR BONAVENA (9) lowered the track record when descending on them to score here two starts back. Runner-up last time from a wide front-line gate, he can push through for position and look for maximum points.

 LONDON TO A BRICK (3) 
arrives in Qld chasing another feature race success, having claimed two G1 victories in his four previous starts at The Creek. Hitting good form at the right time, the 5YO arrives a last start winner at the Menangle mile and has the gate to throw down the challenge.

 GUS (12) 
was up to his old tricks last start with an early error and was never in the mix. Huge in defeat the start prior when 3rd to OSCAR BONAVENA, the talent is undeniable, it is just always heart in the mouth stuff if investing in his chances.

 ALDEBARAN ACRUX (5) 
claimed a starchy victory last time out at Melton when left exposed and forced to grind out the win. With tidy figures at the middle distances, she can feature.

RACE SIX

The Kiwi 5YO BET N WIN (1) has unfinished business in the Sunshine State after a derailed campaign last year. Returning as the top seed, he arrives with successive victories against his name. the latest a strong performance over 2300m at Menangle enroute to this Series. With the perfect gate, he can hit Round 2 in a comfortable position.

 ARCEE PHOENIX (7) 
arrives in Qld with a hat-trick of victories against his name, the latest of those a tough effort at Melton where he was left exposed and forced to work hard when resuming from a spell. Rounding out his last campaign with victory in the rich NZ slot race where he defeated a top line up, he can challenge strongly here.

 ZEALOUS SPUR (9) 
has come into this Series at the right time, hitting peak form in recent weeks. Too classy from the front last start, he can be slicing through to feature.

 HARRY STAMPER (5) 
showed some early speed before taking cover and chased gamely for the silver behind BET N WIN at Menangle last time out. Gallant in defeat the start prior, he is in the mix.

RACE SEVEN

The fifth edition of The Rising Sun with Chantal Turpin looking to be the first trainer to claim the race on two occasions. THE JANITOR (6) has the widest front-line gate, but he has furnished into a serious racehorse and comes into this with three successive victories, the latest of those with an effortless close out over the top to post a 4m margin. Versatility can see him capitalise.

 RUBIRA (3) 
is undefeated in two starts since arriving in the Sunshine State and has the speed off the arm to chase a spot on the poles. Making light work of gate 1 at Redcliffe, he was never in danger with an all the way performance to claim the Derby with a slick last 800. 

 DELE ROW (4) 
has been super consistent this season and snares the best of the 4YO barriers. With early hustle, he can be looking to force the issue to find position on the engine and stake his claim for G1 Glory.

 PATH TO GREATNESS (1) 
was beaten by a wide gate last time out in the Redcliffe Derby and will relish returning to the ace gate where he was successful in the Queensland Sun. This is a tougher battle, but he cannot be overlooked.

RACE EIGHT

Shipping in from Victoria for a Derby campaign, SEATHESTARS (2) lands the ideal gate to land the South East lead up. Scoring from the front end two starts back at Melton, he returned to that same track and overcame a wide second line gate. From the gate, he can look to capitalise.

 FIRE RAISER (1) 
ate up the ground over the closing stages in the Redcliffe Derby Consolation, charging home from deep field to grab the victory. With mapping favours in his advantage from this gate, he can secure the perfect trip to issue the closing shot.

 SWEET ON LEXY (5) 
was forced to roll the sleeves and do it the tough way in the Redcliffe Derby, sitting parked and feeling the pinch late. Limiting the workload can see him stake a claim here.

 JUNGLE DRAGON (9) 
showed some early hustle before receiving 1x1 cover at Redcliffe and fought on well to hold the bronze behind RUBIRA. With the right cart into this, he can feature.

RACE NINE

With four wins in five career starts, FIRE AND PASSION (3) comes up with a nice barrier to continue on his winning ways. His only defeat was as a short-price favourite in the QBRED Breeders before bouncing back with a romp of the APG when obliterating his rivals with a 27m victory.

 ATUA MAGIC (6) 
is undefeated in two career starts and arrives with a spot in next week’s Protostar already locked away. Scoring a tough win last start at Bendigo when moving around them in the early stages to sit parked, he can throw down a challenge from an awkward gate.

 SOHO PARK AVENUE (1) 
was last seen when finishing with the bronze in the Bathurst Gold Crown Final where he hit the line strongly to be 3m astern of the winner. With three trials in readiness for the return, the gate is a huge plus.

 REWATCH (11) 
has hit the board in all four career starts, including a 2nd place finish in the Bathurst Gold Crown. Sent for a break after that run, he returned against older horses with a 3rd.

RACE TEN

Securing a tough win in the NSW Oaks over the 2300m trip COOL AND CLASSY (4) returned home with an easy win in the Breeders Classic Heats. Having to settle for 2nd in that Final behind ARRIVE after sitting parked, she again was forced to work in the Redcliffe Oaks when 3rd. She can return to winning form here.

 SUGAR PIE HONEY (1) 
ran on over the closing stages to grab the bronze behind COOL AND CLASSY in the NSW Oaks Final before winning comfortably at her final NSW trip before heading North. Midfield in the Redcliffe Oaks, she secures the gate to throw down the challenge here.

 ARRIVE (10) 
completed a hat-trick of victories when taking out the QBRED Breeders with an all the way effort over the mile from gate 1. Missing the podium at Redcliffe, she can chime in here.

 RUBY RULES (7) 
faces a stiff ask from this gate, however her effort in the Redcliffe Oaks was full of merit when hitting the line strongly for 2nd to CAPTAINS MISTRESS. She can be running on.
