RACE 1

TACTICAL ILLUSION (3) should find the front early with her great gate speed. She has come up against better opposition in recent outings and should be better suited in this maiden. If she is able to lead she is likely to prove very hard to run down.

LANEYS LAST (1) has been racing fairly in recent outings when not having a huge amount of luck in races. Has had a change of fortunes in this race drawing gate 1 and should be able to hold a prominent position in this race. With more luck than recent outings she should be in the money.

TAKEN BY SURPRISE (5) burned off the gate last start and was able to lead eventually bad had done plenty of work and battled on nicely for second. Draws wide again in this race and may look to launch forward again despite there being plenty of speed underneath if she finds a good run should be thereabouts.

STONES (6) took on a decent maiden last start at Albion Park and was able to battle on well to finish in the placings. Should get a decent run through at the start and can figure in the money again.

SELECTIONS: TACTICAL ILLUSION (3) LANEYS LAST (1), TAKEN BY SURPRISE (5), STONES (6)

SUGGESTED BET: LANEYS LAST (1) to place.

RACE 2

ESTER JEAN (4) hit the line strongly last start when running into a close up third. She has good early speed and might be able to work her way across to the lead where she would likely be very hard to beat. She is versatile in this type of race and should be hardest to beat.

KONNYMARA (5) has shown good ability so far in his career. His run in March when placing behind Fakistra was particularly impressive. Draws wide in this race and given he is first up from a spell he may get back in the run and be running on late.

TEAM SPORT (6) this is a big drop in grade in this race coming out a strong race with a lot of depth. Draws awkwardly inside the back row in this race but has the ability to figure should the runs come.

FLY BURRA (9) didn’t have a lot of luck last start at Redcliffe when shuffled back early before finishing off powerfully into third. He should get a reasonable run through in this race and be finishing off if they go too hard early.

SELECTIONS: ESTER JEAN (4), KONNYMARA (5), TEAM SPORT (6), FLY BURRA (9)

SUGGESTED BET: ESTER JEAN (4) to win.

RACE 3

MAMMALS DESTINY (2) is a 30 rater so has been quite out of form for a considerable period of time but her latest run was a big improvement and might be an indication she is somewhere back nearer her best. If she was able to push onto the lead she would give them something to catch.

TREACHEROUS GABBY (4) has been racing well enough. Was able to secure a good run last start with cover and finished off into third behind Tracer Bullet in that race which would be good enough to go close in this race.

MELTON SCHLEGER (8) led two starts ago and ran a good race behind Rocknroll Da Gama. This race looks easier and despite the back row draw looks one of the better hopes.

MOLLIDOR (6) draws awkwardly in this race inside the back row but seems to be going well enough if the runs appear she can be running into the money.

SELECTIONS: MAMMALS DESTINY (2), TREACHEROUS GABBY (4), MELTON SCHLEGER (8), MOLLIDOR (6)

SUGGESTED BET: MAMMALS DESTINY (2) to win.

RACE 4

SIGNOR JUJON (2) doesn’t seem to go best when used off the gate or doing work in his races which he was left to do last start over the 2040 at Redcliffe when battling away fairly late. This race looks easier and if he was able to secure a good run he could bounce back to form.

THREE CHORD RIFF (3) has been good since returning from a spell running second and fourth. She took on what was seemingly a better race than this one when fourth behind Rocknroll Da Gama last start safter doing some early work in a fast lead time and first quarter.

MARKSMAN (9) was first up for the new stable last start and didn’t figure in that race when running eighth. He looks to have a task ahead of him in this race from the poor draw but does seem to do his best work up on speed and might be able to work into a good position in this race.

OUTER CHANGE (7) was an improver two starts ago when working into a good position off the gate before battling on well for third there.

SELECTIONS: SIGNOR JUJON (2), THREE CHORD RIFF (3), MARKSMAN (9), OUTER CHANGE (7)

SUGGESTED BET: SIGNOR JUJON (2) to win.

RACE 5

CRIME TIME (1) has just moderate gate speed and doesn’t seem to get out well from gate 1 but if he can drive through and lead he would become the one to beat. He has been racing well enough including a last start fourth when doing the work outside the leader at Marburg.

MY ULTIMATE LOUIE (6) should be driving through inside back row and securing a good run. He does follow out a horse with just moderate gate speed so will be relying on it being able to lead to secure the best possible trip.

ROYAL WINKLE (5) hasn’t been racing at his best in recent starts. His best is certainly good enough for a race of this nature.

DANCIN DOLLY (9) finished off powerfully last start over the top to score. Should be better for the run there and is going to be hard to beat again if the race is run to suit early.

SELECTIONS: CRIME TIME (1), MY ULTIMATE LOUIE (6), ROYAL WINKLE (5), DANCIN DOLLY (9)

SUGGESTED BET: CRIME TIME (1) to win.

RACE 6

SAINT LOUIS BEAT (8) was a runner up two starts ago at Redcliffe when securing a good run behind Heavenly Wisdom. He then did plenty of work last start and dropped out to be well beaten but was entitled to be.

KEAYANG TARA (9) ran a good fourth last start at Redcliffe and should be better for the run there. She can likely secure a good run into this race following Saint Louis Beat.

GELDOF (4) has early speed and is probably the best drawn of the main chances in this race. If he can work to the front he would become the one to beat in this race.

MELTON INSULTED (5) is a brilliant beginner but hasn’t been racing at her absolute best. Her high speed makes her versatile in this type of grade

SELECTIONS: SAINT LOUIS BEAT (8), KEAYANG TARA (9), GELDOF (4), MELTON INSULTED (5)

SUGGESTED BET: KEAYANG TARA (9) each way.

RACE 7

MISTY CREEK (9) looks the class runner in the field and has run well previously from the stand start at this track off similar handicaps. He hasn’t started in a race since his sixth at Narabbri in early June which looks a query.

B MAC C (8) was an impressive winner two starts ago when finishing over the top at Redcliffe. He should be able to secure a good run in this race and will be finishing off strong.

LITTLELIONELJAMES (7) has been racing fairly. Looks the clear class runner that’s starting off a front line draw in this race and might be able to hold the advantage on key rivals if he steps quickly.

MISTER REACTOR (10) is faced by a big handicap in this race but he is a horse that’s capable of doing work. If he steps quickly he should be hard to beat.

SELECTIONS: MISTY CREEK (9), B MAC C (8), LITTLELIONELJAMES (7), MISTER REACTOR (10)

SUGGESTED BET:

RACE 8

WESTERN ARTERRA (2) has good early speed and finds a race where he might be able to work to the front. If he can find the front in this race he should be hard to beat being a long way back in front off some of his better efforts.

KELLOSHIEL (8) is an enigmatic but extremely talented mare. She doesn’t looked suited off the back row draw in this race but has a lot of ability and should be thereabouts if she brings her best behaviour.

VINCENT TIME (6) might get shuffled back early if Taylors Four isn’t able to hold the lead. He was a good winner last start when running over the top late.

TAYLORS FOUR (1) isn’t a mare that possesses much gate speed which looks a big query early. If she was able to hold the lead early she would become the one to beat in this race off a huge last start second.

SELECTIONS: WESTERN ARTERRA (2), KELLOSHIEL (8), VINCENT TIME (6), TAYLORS FOUR (1)

SUGGESTED BET: WESTERN ARTERRA (2) to win.

RACE 9

HANOVER LECTOR (6) is a long way back in grade off some her better efforts. She was a solid second at this track last start and should be better for the run there. From the draw will need luck but should be hard to beat.

FORGIVE ME (2) things didn’t pan out for her last start when doing plenty of work in the race. Her trial was solid before that run and we might see a better version of her second up in this race.

LYDIAS ART (1) has some early speed and might be able to dictate early. She hasn’t been at her absolute best in recent outings including having made an error last start in a stand start. On the pegs could be an improver.

LA SABINA (7) doesn’t look ideally suited off the back row but should get a decent run through early. She will be relying on the early tempo being genuine and should be hard to beat if it is.

SELECTIONS: HANOVER LECTOR (6), FORGIVE ME (2), LYDIAS ART (1), LA SABINA (7)

SUGGESTED BET:
