RQ updates Minimum Bet Limits conditions

3 July 2025

Racing Queensland has unveiled a number of punter-friendly conditions as part of its latest Race Field Fee authority period.

As of July 1, 2025, off-course Wagering Service Providers will now be required to accept a fixed odds win bet at odds that are publicly displayed, to lose up to $1,000 on any metropolitan harness or greyhound race.

In addition, the MBL for a WSP to lose on a place bet will also increase to $400 for each code, whilst WSPs are now required to partial a bet to the MBL limit, as opposed to rejecting it in its totality.

As part of its new General Conditions, RQ has also mandated that markets for TAB meetings across all three codes must be published by 10am on raceday.

Finally, punters will now be able to use automation to select a market and add to their bet slip.

The change, however, does not oblige a WSP to accept a betting transaction that was completed by automation.

Off-course WSPs are not required to comply with MBL requirements if one of the exclusions in the General Conditions applies at the time of the bet.
