Form Analysis: Albion Park August 23

23 August 2025

RACE ONE

With the benefit of the inside gate, MAJOR HOT (1) should be able to burrow through underneath his rivals to hold the front. Pressing on to score a big win over the middle trip last start highlighted by a 54.6 close out, he drops back to the mile where he can rinse and repeat.

ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (8) will have the perfect position as the mobile pulls away to follow through on the back of the likely leader and then be in the stalking spot. Grabbing the bronze at each of his past two, including behind ATTACHMENT two starts back, he can quinella this.

CHEER LEADER (9) tackled standing start conditions last start, but her chance expired with an early error. Effective on the fence from a soft trip, she can drop to the inside here.

BEACHRIDE (10) could potentially drop to a four-fence position here and that could be a good spot to chase a cheque. A strong Redcliffe winner last start, he has minor place claims.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR HOT (1), ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (8), CHEER LEADER (9), BEACHRIDE (10)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1 / 8-9-10 / 3-8-9-10

RACE TWO

Starting from inside the second line last start, CALL TO ORDER (4) was soon shuffled back in the run before hitting the line in nice order behind ATTACHMENT in the 4YO Triad Final. Too far back the start prior when retreating, positioning cheaply will be vital to taking this.

HELLO I TEA (8) eased to the inside from a wide second line gate two starts back and with the soft trip was able to dart through for the silver. Missing a minor last start from the pocket trail, he was only a neck from the winner and will be searching for the short way home again here.

BRONSKI ZULU (10) was back in the pack last start in the Triad Final where nothing made ground off the track. Luckless the start prior, this is a race that gives him a chance to improve.

WATCHMEDAZZLE (1) has not been assisted by barriers in recent starts, including gate 6 at each of his past two. The improved gate to show his arm hustle will be a big plus here.

SELECTIONS: CALL TO ORDER (4), HELLO I TEA (8), BRONSKI ZULU (10), WATCHMEDAZZLE (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

A newcomer to the Sunshine State, IMA QUEEN BEE (6) arrives with the Turpin stable following a last start victory at Penrith back in June. Grinding out a tough win, she has been to the trials once in preparation where she delivered a performance suggesting that this is within reach.

KYLOAN QUEEN (1) fired off the arm last start to set the speed and from the front was trying to fend them off when collared late by LUVARESCHS. Looking to hold on here three starts back when leading from gate 3, she has all the options here to issue the challenge.

SWEET HAYLEY JANE (9) was able to take them all the way here two starts back in a PB mile. Trying to see it out here on Tuesday at the middle trip before fading late, a return to the mile suits.
FIREBOLT (5) was exposed for a period in the 4YO mares Triad Final last week and then faded over the closing stages. Positioning cheaply, she can be sharper in this grade.

SELECTIONS: IMA QUEEN BEE (6), KYLOAN QUEEN (1), SWEET HAYLEY JANE (9), FIREBOLT (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

Having just his second standing start appearance in the Redcliffe Cup, REGAZZZO DI TILLY (8) had little in his favour in the early stages. Back in winning form after a freshen when running a PB mile, last start he was only collared in the last stages by SURE THING CAPTAIN.

FRANKIE FEROCIOUS (9) came from a 20m tape last time out and after moving forward to find position, was able to finish best to claim a 3m margin. Holding on for the bronze two starts back behind ROYAL CRUISER, he moves forward to 10m here and gets his chance to repeat.

MADRIGAL (3) is a jet off the tapes and backs up from Tuesday where was starting from the 10m. Back to the front line, if she touches down on the peg line, she is a podium hope.

TIMS A TROOPER (7) faced a 20m tape last start and was sent forward in the middle stages to sit parked. Finishing 3m astern of the winner, he is never far away and can be thereabouts again.

SELECTIONS: REGAZZZO DI TILLY (8), FRANKIE FEROCIOUS (9), MADRIGAL (3), TIMS A TROOPER (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

Several chances are present in this contest where ELEGANT GROOVES (2) backs up from Tuesday. Losing momentum behind a tiring leader in that contest, the start prior she tackled the open class mares when midfield to EVER ART. With early speed, she can stake claim.

MAJOR JELLIS (1) has placed in nine of his past 11 but has found the winning post elusive with his drought dating to April 2023. Only a head off victory last start when settling with the 1x1 trail, he finds the right contest and gate to challenge the winless streak.

WE ALWAYS HAVE FAITH (8) maps for the soft trip along the inside and with the economical trip can be poised to issue a challenge in the stretch.

BETTING ORIGIN (5) should be further tightened following his latest performance when second up from a spell. Despite finishing down in the line in both appearances, he can be sharper in this.

SELECTIONS: ELEGANT GROOVES (2), MAJOR JELLIS (1), WE ALWAYS HAVE FAITH (8), BETTING ORIGIN (5)
SUGGESTED BET: ELEGANT GROOVES (2),

RACE SIX

Unbeaten in three starts since arriving in Brisbane, MISS IDAHO (6) faces a tough gate but should be too slick for her rivals. Overcoming the outside front line to score two starts back when eased off the arm, she controlled the tempo in front last start with an easy win.

SWEET ADDITION (1) secured a mare’s qualifier two starts back when taking the trail from this same gate and then darting home for victory along the passing lane. Attacking the line strongly from deep field last start over the middle trip when beaten an eyelash, the gate is a huge asset.

SERGIOS ROCKET (2) was under 2m from the winner last start but missed a minor with the blanket finish. With the chance to drop to the fence for a soft trip, she can be chiming in.

PLAYA BLANCA (4) faced a second line gate last start and was trying to join in over the closing stages when 8m from the winner. A return to mare’s company will help.

SELECTIONS: MISS IDAHO (6), SWEET ADDITION (1), SERGIOS ROCKET (2), PLAYA BLANCA (4)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

With a potential date with the Eureka on the agenda, FATE AWAITS (6) will be looking to fortify his credentials for the $2m contest with a warm-up victory here. Strong to the line for the bronze in the Qld Derby when beaten by a second line gate, that run followed victory in the Rising Sun when delivering a crushing last 800m from the trail. He should be too classy.

FINAL DEADLINE (1) has placed twice in three starts since arriving in the Shannon Price stables, with the only miss when producing a smart effort in the Qld Derby. Faced with a second line gate last start when making a late raid for the silver behind FERNCO NEL, the gate is a huge help.

RACE FOR RICHES (2) will have first option to dive down to the inside and the fence will be the best place to chase. After a tidy 4th in the Breeders in May, he missed the Triad Series and second up here can grab minor money.

SELECTIONS: FATE AWAITS (6), FINAL DEADLINE (1), RACE FOR RICHES (2)
SUGGESTED BET: FATE AWAITS (6) to win

RACE EIGHT

A number of chances in this second division mare’s qualifier where A PERFECT DANCE (5) is worth a ticket. Pressing forward from gate 7 to take control last start over the 2138, she led them until deep stretch, only to be collared in the closing stages. In a tricky contest, she can arrive.

SHES IN LINE (8) started from the second line at Redcliffe last start and when set free had the power to get past them and pull clear to a 5m margin. The form from that has been franked with the two placed runners subsequently winning and with a soft trip from this gate, she can challenge.

POCKET BOOK (1) backs up from a midweek victory where she showed early hustle to find the front before releasing and then arriving via the passing lane. The gate helps her chances.

PURE DRAGON (7) is yet to hit the board in three starts here at HQ but has been showing improvement at each outing. Closing out soundly last start, she can be making a late raid.

SELECTIONS: A PERFECT DANCE (5), SHES IN LINE (8), POCKET BOOK (1), PURE DRAGON (7)
SUGGESTED BET: A PERFECT DANCE (5) to win

RACE NINE

After contesting the Inter Dominion Trot Final back in July, ZEALOUS SPUR (5) has continued to race each week and placed in three subsequent outings. Forced to sit parked and grind it out when 3m from LOVE GUN two starts back, he made a rare error last start. Despite the awkward gate, he can capitalise.

LOVE GUN (3) was a winner off 30m in a band rated handicap two starts back and followed that with a win from 10m under discretionary terms last time out. Back to mobile conditions here where he has specialised, he can settle handy and chase the hat-trick.

SHEZA CHANCE (1) worked forward from the tape here two starts back to set the tempo and from the front held on for the bronze behind LOVE GUN. Midfield last start, she can feature here.

MAJESTIC LAVROS (2) has been kept fresh since his last appearance when locked away on the inside. A small field will assist his chances of securing some minor money.

SELECTIONS: ZEALOUS SPUR (5), LOVE GUN (3), SHEZA CHANCE (1), MAJESTIC LAVROS (2)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE TEN

A tricky little 2YO contest to wrap the night with the chance a small field can lead to a tactical battle. JAMES ALFRED (5) backs up from his 2nd behind FIRE AND PASSION in last week’s Triad Final where he made the most of gate 1 to follow the speed. Progressing through the season, he can cash in here.

MY ULTIMATE ZANDER (6) has been to the track on six occasions this season and the two times he has missed the money has been in each of the big QBRED Feature Finals. Setting the speed and leading until deep stretch when under 2m from FIGHT FOR VICTORY two starts back, he can throw it down here.

YOURSOSPECIAL (3) showed good speed off the arm here last week when sliding across to find the pocket trail and then hold on for the silver behind the ultra-smart RIDE THE HIGHS. A similar trip can see her grab minor money.

SELECTIONS: JAMES ALFRED (5), MY ULTIMATE ZANDER (6), YOURSOSPECIAL (3)
SUGGESTED BET: JAMES ALFRED (5) to win
