Form Analysis: Redcliffe August 11

RACE 1 

BROOKFIELDS BEAUTY (3) has been a long way below her best in recent outings. She got back in the run last start and couldn’t get into the race there when not beaten too far. This is by far the easiest race she has contested in some time and should be hard to beat.

FOUR FEATHERS (1) has previously been crossed from this draw but was crossed by a fast horse in Convinced. If he can do enough to lead I think he can be hard to beat in this race.

IGNITE THE FIRE (7) should get a good run through at the start of this race. Was a winner three starts ago in a similar quality race and given the soft run he is likely to get he can’t be ruled out.

STUDLEIGH ANNE (4) has excellent early speed and may look to launch over in the early stages. She has had a tendency to over raced when unable to get into the lead and that may be the query if she’s asked to come off the gate early.

RACE 2 

EAGLES PRIDE (6) hit the line strongly last start behind Udderly Sweet in a quick last quarter. This race is considerably weaker and he looks very well placed despite the wide draw. He may be forced to work at some stage but looks up to it on his last start effort.

MISSTREPO (1) likely has the speed to lead in this race given the draw and 2040 start point of this race. She led last start after working early and was just run down late by Bettys Gold Class who got the run up the inside having done no work in the race. 

BURNS BAY (7) looks likely to secure a good run through at the start on the back of Misstrepo. He was well beaten last start but was off the pegs and had been shuffled back in the early stages. 

BRIAN CHRISTOPHER (9) has run fourth in his two latest starts when not racing with a great deal of luck. He should get a good run through early and if the race is run to suit he can be running into it late.

RACE 3

FEELIN FLIRTY (4) showed good early speed two starts ago when finding the front and leading all the way. He then was left without cover last start while over racing over the 2040 journey and was well beaten as a result. He steps back to the 1780 and draws well this time.

ONE LAST ROLL (5) ran a good second to Hanover Lector last start at Marburg after being left without cover there in reasonable time for the grade. He appears likely to be forced to do the work int his race from the wide gate and should be thereabouts again. 

MUCHO GUAPA (3) has good early speed and was a winner two starts ago when leading all the way. She didn’t have quite as good a run last start and could only manage a midfield finish. This race looks tougher but she has drawn to advantage over her key rivals in this race. 

ABSOLUTELY STOKED (7) the inside back row draw following out one of the likely outsiders in the race looks to be awkward. She has been racing well and was a good winner three starts ago. If luck falls her way at some stage she can figure.

RACE 4 

DONT FEAR FOR ME (1) doesn’t possess much early speed which means the usually ideal gate poses somewhat of a query for him in this race. If he can do enough to lead he would then become the horse to beat and would be very hard to run down. Can still win if he doesn’t lead.  

MAJOR ARK (8) was forced to do the work without cover last start in a fast mile rate for the grade and was beaten just over a length. He should get a good run through in the early stages following out a gate speed horse and should get every chance as a result.

GHOST TRAIN (2) has very good early speed and may look to zip across in the early stages. He was running on late last start in a race that wasn’t ideally run to suit. He finds a similar level race and should be hard to beat.

CAPTAIN OH CAPTAIN (7) should get a good run on the leaders back or 3 back on the pegs in this race which should give him every chance to bounce back.

RACE 5

HIGHWAY WRITER (3) is a 30 rated horse so has been out of form for some time. Took on a stronger race last start and was well beaten but put in an effort that would likely see him competitive in this race. 

THREE CHORD RIFF (4) has returned well from a spell and should be nearing peak fitness in this race fifth up. She was shuffled back last start and was doing her best work late through the line.

MY ULTIMATE RUDI (5) lands in a race that looks much easier than the race he contested last start behind Geldof and Digby Devil. He doesn’t have much gate speed which might see him shuffled back early and hoping for a solid tempo.

HOIHO (8) looked to have every chance last start when not quite able to finish the race off. This race looks easier than that last outing and he does draw well.

SUGGESTED BET: 

RACE 6 

MAMMALS DESTINY (3) has been a big improver in recent runs having run three consecutive second placings. This looks another suitable race and she may be able to find a good position up on speed. Should be hard to beat. 

ONE CHAIN ROAD (8) returns to the races in this race and hasn’t trialled. There has to be a big query on fitness but if he is ready to go he would be hard to beat. 

DANCIN DOLLY (9) was a winner four starts ago when running over the top late to score. This race appears to set up similar and she can be hard to beat again in this race.

TAKE COURAGE (6) has been racing well and drops back into a weaker race here. Her second two starts ago behind Take Courage was good enough for a race of this nature.

RACE 7

TEAM SPORT (4) has good early speed and might be able to find the front in this race. He was a near certainty beaten recent at Marburg when running a narrow second to Fly Burra after being badly held up at a crucial stage. Looks hard to beat. 

BRONX (5) got a long way back in a much stronger race from a wide gate and was doing his best work there through the line. He draws poorly again but may look to press forward this time and find a position on speed in what looks a suitable race. 

EBONY BELLE (6) appears to step up significantly in this race two the top two clearly better than anything she has been racing recently. The race does seemingly drop away quite significantly and with the right run she can be in the finish again. 

FREELANCE DANCER (9) led two starts ago and wasn’t beaten far there in good enough time to see her competitive for the minor money. She should be running on late.

RACE 8

LITTLE WHIPPET (9) is looking to beat the handicapper in this race having scored on Thursday over Boston Assassin. He lands in another suitable race and if the speed is on early he can be running on over the top.

THAT’S OUR BOY (5) put in a solid effort on debut last start when running on into third there. Draws wide in this race and may get back in the run. If the race is run to suit he can be running into it late. 

VEESIGN (8) has been good in two career starts so far. Was particularly good last start when running second to Taken By Surprise after getting the trail on her back. 

MUM SAID SO (4) zipped off the gate and set a strong tempo last start before getting tired late. Should be better for that outing and can be hard to beat in this race.
