Tanya Jose and her husband Graeme trained Group placegetter Lots Of Chatter, which is why she is delighted to see his progeny line up in the Townsville Futurity Final on Tuesday night.

Bug Me More brings good form into the feature over 498 metres.

Jose is also excited her two-year-old bitch – trained by Hayley Wooler and out of You Bug Me – will be running at that distance in a race worth $7,980.

Litter sister Told You So was set to line up from box seven, but she was scratched on Monday morning.

Told You So won her heat by an impressive four lengths in 28.85 seconds last Tuesday night.

“We’ve been waiting for the right races to come up for them to be lifted up to 498 metres,” the Victoria-based Jose said.

“They’re very special girls. They were bred by us simply because we trained their dad. My husband trained their father, Lots Of Chatter.

“We just did our own two litters with him because we believed in him. And, they’ve gone from strength-to-strength.

“We’ve sent previous ones up there to Jo (Wooler, Hayley’s mother) from the same sort of litter and they do really well with them up there.”

Jose was delighted with Bug Me More’s runner-up finish in her heat, finishing a length behind Townsville Cup second placegetter Hopefully Fast in a time of 28.47 seconds.

“Sensational (effort last start). We’ve been waiting for a 498 metre run, so hopefully now she goes forward with it,” Jose said.

Bug Me More will start from box one on Tuesday night.

Jose said her bitch – with four wins from 22 starts – can be ‘hit and miss’ from the inside lane.

“She doesn’t crash wide, but she certainly likes to be out wide,” the Catani-based owner in Victoria’s Gippsland region said.

“As you see in her races she runs wide on the home straight. That’s just the way she likes to run.

“So, I think it’s going to depend on what happens on the inside of her.”

Told You So has won her past two consecutive starts.

The developing young chaser has five wins from 25 career starts.

And, while Told You So won’t start on Tuesday night, Jose has been impressed with the way both her bitches have shown competitive maturity.

“It’s taken a while for the penny to drop for them with their chase,” she said.

“The girl (who was set to start) in the wide box, she’s been a crazy and mad chaser like her father from day dot.

“The girl on the inside has taken a little bit longer. She’s a little bit more timid.

“So, there are different natures there. If Grace (Bug Me More) can get on the bunny she’ll chase hard. But, she’s got to be able to get on it.”

Jose said her and husband Graeme’s connection with the Townsville-based Woolers went back about seven years and she would not send her greyhounds to anyone else.

“They trained another girl for us called Our Pink Mantra and she absolutely blitzed up there with them,” she said.

“Not a 498 metre dog, only a 400 metre dog. She came home injured and we took her down to (veterinarian) Des Fegan and got her right.

“She won at Healesville (on Sunday) and she’s had a couple of wins since she’s been back.

“It (the family connection) goes back a fair way. And, to be honest with you, they’re the only other people I would send one of my dogs to because I’m very fussy.

“They’re beautiful people. It’s a nice little family unit. Everyone has their part – mum, dad, kids, nan, uncle. It’s really nice.”

Hayley Wooler will also oversee Hara’s Lilly to start from box six in the Townsville Futurity Final on Tuesday night.

She finished third in her heat in a time of 29.04 seconds last week.

The Townsville Derby is also on Tuesday night’s Townsville card.
