RACE ONE

All the power looks drawn on the second line here meaning tempo and mid-race action should be the play. ELLIS STREET (12) has returned from a 12-month layoff in super fashion, huge first up and then dictating to an effortless win at this trip second up. He can overcome the gate.

 CHECKNOUTTHETALENT (9)
chalked up another minor here last week behind AMAMI when working hard outside the leader and finishing 3m away. Placed his past five, he can feature.

 COSMIC FLYER (1)
can be forgiven for his last start at Tamworth where nothing went to plan. Placed at Menangle in two of his previous three, the gate and trip can see him in the mix.

 WATCHMEDAZZLE (11)
was wide on the track last start at the mile when 6m from the winner AMAMI. A winner at both prior starts, the gate stings but a cart into the contest will help.

 SELECTIONS:
ELLIS STREET (12), CHECKNOUTTHETALENT (9), COSMIC FLYER (1), WATCHMEDAZZLE (11),
SUGGESTED BET: ELLIS STREET (12) to win

RACE TWO

Forced to chair up last week and do the heavy lifting, GO THE RED (10) tried to rally in the stretch, but had to settle for the bronze when 4m astern of the winner FRANCO MACHO. Strong to the line when just 1m from the winner the start prior, tempo will be his friend in this battle.

 EXCLUSIVE HUSTLER (1)
is a 3YO stepping up into qualifying company here but has been solid since arriving in the Sunshine State. Hitting the board in all four appearances, he set the tempo last start but was collared late by BIGGER THE BETTOR. The gate provides options to c.

 DEEBO (5)
eased off the arm from the wide gate last time out and was making good metres in the stretch to be under 3m from the winner. Gritty when parked the start prior, he has claims.

 BIGGER THE BETTOR (7)
was able to slide into the 1x1 trail from this same gate last start and had the speed to arrive for a narrow victory. With a strong record since arriving, this is the test.

SELECTIONS: GO THE RED (10), EXCLUSIVE HUSTLER (1), DEEBO (5), BIGGER THE BETTOR (7)
 SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

Tempo will be strong here and with good speed, MARVELLOUS MAC (4) might just be firing some early bullets. Working hard in the run outside the leader last start when 4m from TEDDY TURPIN, the start prior he was grabbed in the last stride by IRON CLAD. This looks within reach.

 LENNY LINCOLN (1)
held the trail from this gate last start and with the trip was able to hold on for the silver behind ELLIS STREET. The map favours a similar trip and with the chance to avoid any work, he can be probing the gaps in attempting to issue a challenge.

 IM BOO (2)
has good speed off the arm and from this alley can be pressing forward for position. Collared late when leading up two starts back, a return to the mile is in his favour here.

 ENGLISH DANCE (3)
was not suited from gate 7 last start when retreating and making some late metres to finish midfield. Tackling tougher company the start prior, he can get handy here.

 SELECTIONS:
MARVELLOUS MAC (4), LENNY LINCOLN (1), IM BOO (2), ENGLISH DANCE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MARVELLOUS MAC (4) to win

RACE FOUR

Starting from the 20m impost here last week, NOT AS PROMISED (6) was forced to do it the tough way and was game in defeat. Throwing down one last lunge, he was only beaten the barest possible behind HIDE AND SEEK. Fitter again after two runs back, he can capitalise.

 GOLDEN SUNSET (5)
returns after her last appearance came in the ID25 Final when down the line. A Heat winner at the 2138 round, she has been back to the trials twice in readiness for the first up outing. With good early hustle, she can press forward to issue a challenge.

 GET USED TO IT (2)
has been runner-up in all three starts since resuming from a spell, the past two behind MUFASA METRO and NOT AS PROMISED. From the gate he is a podium player again.

 MUFASA METRO (4)
was a first up winner for the new stable and followed that with a 3rd behind NOT AS PROMISED from inside the second line. He can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: NOT AS PROMISED (6), GOLDEN SUNSET (5), GET USED TO IT (2), MUFASA METRO (4)
 SUGGESTED BET:
GET USED TO IT (2) to place

RACE FIVE

Finally finding the right conditions to cash in for victory here last week, A PERFECT DANCE (3) can look to build with winning confidence to chase a repeat. Dictating in front from gate 1 in a career PB following successive second place finishes, she can get forward to stake claim.

 JENSVILLE (10)
will appreciate some tempo on the front end here as she looks to continue her solid record since arriving in Qld. Hitting the board in six of seven on this deck, she burrowed through to lead and see them off last start at the 2138 and a return to mare’s company is a plus.

 KYLOAN QUEEN (1)
secures the mapping options from this gate to chase an overdue win in this grade. A winner three back when dictating, she has been midfield the past two.

 WORKS FOR ME (8)
has placed her past four in succession and should secure the perfect fence trip here to limit the work. Attacking the line strongly wider out last start, she will be probing.

SELECTIONS: A PERFECT DANCE (3), JENSVILLE (10), KYLOAN QUEEN (1), WORKS FOR ME (8)
 SUGGESTED BET:
Exotics 1-3-10 / 1-3-8-9-10

RACE SIX

Third up from a break as his burgeoning career builds, BIRKIRKARA (5) will make his first appearance under standing start conditions. Pressing forward to set the tempo last start and pull clear to an 11m margin with a slick closing half, he can get forward to make it 10 from 15 here at HQ.

 ARODA (8)
will be second up from a spell and should be tightened from his first up effort when best of the chasers behind the best in the business, LEAP TO FAME. A three-time winner from the tapes, he can build his campaign as he eyes off a second NZ Cup appearance.

 MOSSDALE TERRY (7)
was game in defeat at mobile conditions last start when parked outside BIRKIRKARA and gripping on for the silver. Runner-up to SEND IT the start prior, he has claims.

 HECTOR (4)
will strip fitter following his last start effort when resuming from a spell and chasing home the champ LEAP TO FAME. From 10m he can be handy enough to feature.

 SELECTIONS:
 BIRKIRKARA (5), ARODA (8), MOSSDALE TERRY (7), HECTOR (4)
 SUGGESTED BET:
BIRKIRKARA (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

Finding the front from gate five in a similar field last start, WISPER A SECRET (2) walked them through 60.1 opening half before dialling it up down the back. Despite setting the tempo of a 54.4 close out, he had no answer for TIMS A TROOPER. Back to the mile should be to his favour in chasing the W.

 TIMS A TROOPER (4)
is in super form, as he prepares to tick over $500k in stake earnings. Chasing hard to reel in WISPER A SECRET at the 2138 two starts back, he was the eye-catcher last week, the only runner to eat into the deficit behind LEAP TO FAME. The small field suits.

 HOT AND TREACHEROUS (1)
should be able to tuck in behind the speed and with the soft trip, search for the gaps to grab some minor money. Setting a 2138m standing start track record two starts back, the gate is a big plus.

 SELECTIONS:
 WISPER A SECRET (2), TIMS A TROOPER (4), HOT AND TREACHEROUS (1)
 SUGGESTED BET:
WISPER A SECRET (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

WINDY HILL TARA (1) appeared to get every chance to open her Qld account last time out, finding the front at the 2138 and securing a comfortable 60.6 opening half. Unable to fight off the challengers in the stretch as SWEET ADDITION arrived, she has the gate to atone.

 SWEET MIA (10)
was chased off the gate here last week and from the front was able to dictate the tempo and see them off to take a narrow margin in a PB rate. Drawn wide gates at her previous two, she was a winner four back in a strong performance and can throw it down here.

 CHEER LEADER (6)
is never far away in this grade of contest and has placed at four of the past five. Sent out fav last week when 3rd behind SWEET ADDITION, she will be thereabouts again.

 SWEET ADDITION (2)
eased to the poles from this same gate last week and with the economical trip, had the fresh legs to power home over the top when the gaps arrived.

SELECTIONS: WINDY HILL TARA (1), SWEET MIA (10), CHEER LEADER (6), SWEET ADDITION (2)
 SUGGESTED BET:
WINDY HILL TARA (1) to win

RACE NINE

A tricky second division mare’s event to close the card where OUR ULTIMATE LUKA (5) can look to press forward to settle near the action. Not suited from the second line last start, she was out of bullets over the 2138 the start prior when setting the tempo. This looks within reach.

 HARPERVILLE (9)
found ideal conditions two starts back and sent to the post as the fav, was able to work in the run from a similar gate and prove too strong. 8m from the in-form BETTORS MOON last time out, she can be issuing a challenge here.

 SWEET OPTIONS (10)
was sent forward from the wide gate and working in the run was still fighting when just missing the money behind A PERFECT DANCE. Look for her joining in.

 MILLIEWOOD (1)
made late ground to grab 3rd last start when 3m adrift of the winner. A soft trip from the gate will assist her podium claims.

SELECTIONS: OUR ULTIMATE LUKA (5), HARPERVILLE (9), SWEET OPTIONS (10), MILLIEWOOD (1)
 SUGGESTED BET:
OUR ULTIMATE LUKA (5) to win
