RACE 1

TAPTHEKEG (3) has good early speed and was able to drive through and lead two starts ago before being run down by Melton Schleger. Should have the speed to drive through and lead again in this race. Should be hard to run down.

WILLROBY (7) appeared to trial quite poorly recently when beaten close to 70 metres behind Captain Shuffles in just moderate time. He is likely to have derived good benefit from that trial and does land in what appears likely to be a suitable race.

WRITE ABOUT ANGUS (4) was forced to do plenty of work two starts ago and wasn’t beaten far when finishing second to Melton Schleger. He may be forced to do the work again in this race but taking on a similar field he should be hard to hold out.

SCORES (9) led two starts ago at this track and battled on for a solid third. He was then tailed off last start at Redcliffe in what appeared to be just a moderate race. He needs to bounce back to be a hope in this race.

SELECTIONS: TAPTHEKEG (3), WILLROBY (7), WRITE ABOUT ANGUS (4), SCORES (9)

SUGGESTED BET: TAPTHEKEG (3) to win.

RACE 2

NIGHT NINJA (7) started inside the back row last start and didn’t have much luck when finishing fourth behind Stones. He has done some of his best racing at this track and should be hard to hold out with the right run into it.

CAPTAIN OH CAPTAIN (9) ran a good race three starts ago when finishing third at Marburg rating solid time for the grade. He faces a tough draw in this race outside the back row and will need luck at some stage to get into the race.

MY ULTIMATE LOUIE (8) comes into this race first up from a spell which appears a query. He draws unfavourably on the back row and may need to be forced to work at some stage.

THE BLACK FOX (4) appears to have landed in a much more suitable race having done some of his better racing in a much tougher grade. He performed fairly last start when finishing fourth behind Highway Writer.

SELECTIONS: NIGHT NINJA (7), CAPTAIN OH CAPTAIN (9), MY ULTIMATE LOUIE (8), THE BLACK FOX (4)

SUGGESTED BET: NIGHT NINJA (7) to win.

RACE 3

ITS A SPONGE DARL (1) has good early speed and should be able to lead from the good draw. He still appears to have some tractability issues hanging and racing roughly on a number of occasions last start when returning from a spell at Redcliffe. If he can navigate the tight circuit at Marburg he should be hard to beat.

GLENEAGLE HUNTER (6) should get a good run through on the back of a gate speed horse in It’s a Sponge Darl. He ran an improved race last start when getting a similar run to the one he is likely to get in this race when finishing second to Malarky.

OUR LITTLE BANJO (7) hasn’t been racing in peak form in recent outings and was well down the track behind Malarky last start. He should find this a little bit easier than his latest outing and he could secure a good run on the pegs in this race.

BOSTON FIRE (9) ran a good race last start when finishing fourth and appears to be closing in on a maiden victory. He draws poorly this time and is likely to be a long way off them early relying on a genuine early tempo.

SELECTIONS: ITS A SPONGE DARL (1), GLENEAGLE HUNTER (6), OUR LITTLE BANJO (7), BOSTON FIRE (9)

SUGGESTED BET: ITS A SPONGE DARL (1) to win.

RACE 4

ICANANDIWILL (2) has good early speed and should be able to find the lead in this race and give them something to catch. She led last start over the 2040 at Redcliffe and was just run down late by Dreamtime Nala. Should appreciate a step back to the shorter journey and looks hardest to beat.

WEE BONNIE (8) trialled well recently behind classy FFA pacer Captain Shuffles when only beaten 27.6 metres. A similar effort to that would see her hard to beat from what appears quite an awkward draw on the back row.

BELMER BETTY (7) took on a much stronger race last start which was taken out by Impermissible at Albion Park when finishing eighth. She is likely to get a good run through early on the back of the likely leader.

RISSOLES (4) has performed poorly since returning from a spell having shown promise last time in running a number of good races including a good win at Redcliffe when sitting in the breeze. His best is good enough.

SELECTIONS: ICANANDIWILL (2), WEE BONNIE (8), BELMER BETTY (7), RISSOLES (4)

SUGGESTED BET: ICANANDIWILL (2) to win.

RACE 5

VICTREE ATOM (3) doesn’t have brilliant gate speed but if he is able to hold those horses to his outside he might be able to press onto the lead and would be hard to beat from there. He took on a tougher race two back behind Opallane at Albion Park when finishing sixth having done plenty of work he battled on well enough.

MAJOR SLIP UP (8) did plenty of early work last start and battled on well despite how tough a run he’d had through the run. He draws the back row this time and may need to work at some stage which may see him face a tricky task getting into the race with other races likely to be keen to hold forward positions.

HIGHVIEW SADLER (4) comes into this race fourth up from a spell and should be nearing peak fitness. He is a horse capable of doing work in his races and should be able to find a forward position in this race from a front line draw.

SHADYS DELIGHT (5) is looking for a hat-trick of wins in this race having scored two good recent wins at Redcliffe. His last start win was impressive when beating Littlemickey.

SELECTIONS: VICTREE ATOM (3), MAJOR SLIP UP (8), HIGHVIEW SADLER (4), SHADYS DELIGHT (5)

SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR SLIP UP (8) to win.

RACE 6

ERASMUS (2) has very good early speed and should be able to zip across to the lead and prove hard to catch. He ran a much better race leading last start over the 2040 at Redcliffe when finishing third and has since changed stables.

FILLY THIRTEEN (7) hasn’t been at her best and draws awkwardly in this race on the back row. She appears the class in this race and if the race is run to suit she can be running on late in this race and should be hard to hold out.

SPECIALANDIKNOWIT (6) has been good since returning from a spell having run a good second two starts ago closing strongly late to just miss behind Feelin Flirty before running well last start at Marburg without having a lot of luck from a tricky draw.

ALWAYSMISSINGYOU (1) hasn’t been at her best in recent outings having been well beaten her last three starts. She does appear to drop back into an easier race here and should get every chance close enough to the speed racing on the pegs.

SELECTIONS: ERASMUS (2), FILLY THIRTEEN (7), SPECIALANDIKNOWIT (6), ALWAYSMISSINGYOU (1)

SUGGESTED BET: ERASMUS (2) to win.

RACE 7

ONE LAST ROLL (2) has good early speed and can press forward and look to race in a prominent position in this race. There is a query whether he will be able to lead given the horse drawn inside him is first up from a spell in this race. He scored a good stand start win recently at Marburg when leading all the way.

MERGE RIGHT (1) has the speed to dictate the map in this race but is first up from a spell and may need the run. She looks well placed in this grade and could be hard to beat if ready to go first up into this race.

VINCENT TIME (3) has been racing well and scored a good win two back when running over the top late before running on well again last start at Redcliffe. He may look to press forward in this race and find a prominent position and should be thereabouts from there.

B MAC C (6) should get a good run on the back of Merge Right who is a gate speed horse. He is a fast horse and has always generally been well suited when driven for his sit sprint capacity.

SELECTIONS: ONE LAST ROLL (2), MERGE RIGHT (1), VINCENT TIME (3), B MAC C (6)

SUGGESTED BET: B MAC C (6) each way.

RACE 8

BRIAN CHRISTOPHER (1) hasn’t started since mid-September which looks somewhat of a query. He has good early speed and should be able to drive through and lead this race in the early stages. He has previously run well leading a number of times and should be hard to run down.

GALVARINO (6) should get a good run through on the back of a gate speed horse in this race. He led recently at Redcliffe and battled on well enough for third in that race. A similar effort would see him competitive in this type of race.

TAYLORS FOUR (8) generally does her best work when able to find a position up on speed in her races. She was able to lead over the 2040 recently at Redcliffe and scored a good win there leading all the way. If she can get up on speed she can be thereabouts.

CAPTAIN FOXTROT (9) was first up last start when getting back and making little impression late. He is likely to have derived good benefit from that outing and has put in a number of good runs at this track previously.

SELECTIONS: BRIAN CHRISTOPHER (1), GALVARINO (6), TAYLORS FOUR (8), CAPTAIN FOXTROT (9)

SUGGESTED BET: BRIAN CHRISTOPHER (1) to win.
