Form Analysis: Redcliffe December 26

RACE 1 

BEV THE GOAT (2) drew awkwardly for her in 1 last start and was shuffled a long way back early in a race taken out by Kash Tin. She lands her ideal draw in this race and should be suited over the 2040. She should be hard to hold out. 

PRETTY LITTLE LIAR (4) ran well last start when not beaten far by Out Of Eden at Albion Park. She has good gate speed giving her options whether she looks to press forward early or is saved up for one run late. 

BORSELLINO (6) was a winner five starts ago when shuffled back on the pegs before sprinting best to score. He looks likely to get back again in this race and can be running on late if the race is run to suit. 

SHEREACTS (1) wasn’t beaten fast last start behind Dancin With Lush at Marburg after starting from a back row draw. She looks suited from a good draw in this race and should be able to find a prominent position early.

RACE 2 

LITTLELIONELJAMES (8) is a long way back in grade off some of his better efforts. He was luckless last start after starting inside the back row and was held up at a crucial stage when running third to Its A Sponge Darl.

WELL SAID NUGGET (1) has good gate speed and should have the speed to dictate in the early stages. He has run well leading at this track and trip previously and should be hard to run down again if he can hold the lead early.

JAY TEE TYRON (7) should get a good run through on the back of Well Said Nugget. He ran well when finishing second last start at this track behind Burns Bay who was able to secure a favourable run on the pegs in that race. 

BLING THE NOISE (9) hit the line nicely for third behind dominant winner Wicked Susan who ran right away from them late. If there is a genuine tempo early he should be running into the finish late.

RACE 3

PUNTERS JEWEL (3) has brilliant gate speed and should be able to launch across and lead again in this race. In a stronger race last start at Albion Park he elected to hand over and wasn’t beaten far by Kash Tin in a 1.53.4 mile rate. 

IDEAL ASSASSIN (8) dropped out last start in a stronger race at Albion Park to finish ninth behind Perfectly Quirky. She should find this a lot easier than her latest outing and should be able to obtain a soft run from a good trailing draw. 

ALLMIGHTY MAX (9) looks likely to get a good run into the race and has had plenty of success at this track and trip. He had run a number of placings prior to last start when getting back in a slowly run race and making up good ground late. 

ROCK HAMMER (7) finished fourth last start when getting a good run on the leaders back at Albion Park. He should find this race more suitable but does face an inside back row draw which looks quite awkward for him.

RACE 4 

MISSED CONSEQUENCES (5) was impressive last start when first up for the stable of Donny Smith. She has good gate speed and may look to press forward and find a prominent position again in this race. She should be hard to beat. 

TORO LOCO (3) put in a better run last start when getting into third after getting back in the run. He is likely better suited racing over the shorter trips and loses the services of Nathan Dawson which looks a potential concern. He will need to secure the right run to be a hope in this race. 

MAYWYN TROUBADOUR (7) comes into this race third up from a spell having run two good seconds his last two starts. He should be nearing peak fitness and gains a nice trailing draw in this race. If the gaps appear he should be running into it late. 

ONE LAST ROLL (1) has gate speed giving him options in the early stages of this race. He has won two recent stand start trials and continues to race in great form despite his age.

RACE 5

WRITE ABOUT ANGUS (3) found the lead two starts ago and won well at this track and trip. He may look to press forward and should be hard to run down if he can find the lead again. 

YOGI (9) returns to QLD having done his recent racing in NSW. He may find this company a touch easier than some of his recent outings and lands a favourable trailing draw in this race. If the speed is on early he should be running on late. 

LET ME AT IT (5) ran a good second behind Royal Princess over the 1660 at Albion Park when getting a good run throughout. He may find this race a touch easier and can figure with the right run into the race form an awkward draw. 

IDEAL TIGER (4) was forced to sit in the breeze last start over the 1780 at this track when beaten by Take Courage running third. He is capable of figuring in a race of this nature but does draw awkwardly again. 

SELECTIONS: WRITE ABOUT ANGUS (3), YOGI (9), LET ME AT IT (5), IDEAL TIGER (4)

SUGGESTED BET: YOGI (9) to win.

RACE 6 

HES REGAL (5) has been racing in good form and put in another good run last start when working early before taking the trail on Missed Consequences who rated fast time when winning. He is likely to press forward and if he can find the front he should be hard to run down. 

ITS ONE LIFE (3) doesn’t possess much gate speed which could prove somewhat of a query in the early stages. He has been well beaten in his latest two outings and will need to bounce back to some of his better form to be a winning hope.

VINNIE NITRO (1) showed signs three starts ago she may be working back into some of her better form. She ran a solid sixth last start and if she can obtain the right run in this race she can be competitive again.

GOOD WORD THAT (8) ran a better race last start when forced to face the breeze and battling away for fourth behind It’s a Sponge Darl. He should be able to secure a reasonable run through in the race and can figure if the race is run to suit.

SUGGESTED BET: HES REGAL (5) to win. 

RACE 7

SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (3) has gate speed and will likely look to press forward and find the lead in this race which is a position he has run well from in the past. He secured a good run and was able to finish second to Hes My Reason who rated fast time for the grade. A similar effort to last start would see him hard to beat.

WILLROBY (7) has returned to form in recent outings. He won three starts ago when leading all the way at Marburg before hitting the line strongly last start. He should get a good run through early in this race and can be running on late if the gaps appear. 

MISTER DELWIN (8) was heavily backed last start starting a near even money favourite before being driven for luck on the pegs and just getting into the clear late to run third. He should be hard to beat if there is speed on early in this race. 

CANDYKANE (6) took on much stronger races her last two starts and was beaten a long way. She drops back into a more suitable race here and should be much more competitive despite the wide draw.

RACE 8

SIGNOR JUJON (2) has gate speed and may look to make the most of the good draw pressing forward in the early stages of the race. He secured a good run last start behind Take Courage and was running on late to get into second. He should be hard to beat.

ILLBEWATCHING (6) appears well graded in this race. He was a winner three starts ago when pressing forward and leading all the way over the 2040. He may look to press forward again and find a prominent position in the race. 

CHARLIE CHUCKLES (5) has put in two good runs from three starts back from a spell. He ran poorly two starts ago when dropping right out of it late despite seemingly securing the right type of run 1 out 1 back. He bounced back last start when appearing to have plenty to give and nowhere to go at a crucial stage of the race.

ROYAL WINKLE (3) was held up for clear running last time out at a crucial stage of the race when finishing fifth. He had run a much better race his start prior when finishing second and may be working back into some of his better form.

SUGGESTED BET: SIGNOR JUJON (2) to win. 

RACE 9

SKYWARD SHUFFLE (2) has the gate speed to lead and should run well from that position. He led two starts ago controlling the speed and just being reeled in late by Tariff Time who had the soft run 1-1 in that race. 

SERGENTMAJOR JUJON (7) has drawn awkwardly in what would otherwise be a very suitable race for a horse that seems to be improving each time he steps out at the races.  He ran third two starts ago behind Checkingoutthebill who has since won and Saint Maharg.

CAPTAIN BLUE CHIP (5) returns from a spell in this race having competed in two trials in NSW where he ran second in his latest trial behind Carpenter. He faces a tough draw but with the right run should be competitive. 

WILDSTAR DIVA (1) hasn’t shown much in four career starts to date when well beaten on each occasion. She may be a big improver getting the pegs closer to the speed in this race and could be worth including.
