Rebecca Frizelle departs RQ

8 December 2025

Racing Queensland director Rebecca Frizelle OAM has resigned from the RQ Board.

Having been appointed in April 2024, Ms Frizelle, who recently acquired the majority ownership of the Gold Coast Titans alongside her husband, concluded her tenure last week.

She continues to serve as the Deputy Chancellor of Griffith University and on the Board of Directors of the Organising Committee for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, whilst also managing her business interests.

Acting RQ Chair Jane Seawright thanked Ms Frizelle for her service.

“Bec made a profound impact on the Racing Queensland Board in a short period of time,” Ms Seawright said.

“In addition to the great energy and enthusiasm she brought to the position, her incredible commercial acumen and business nous was to the benefit of the organisation and the industry as a whole.

“We would have been thrilled if she could continue, however, we’re mindful of her various business and non-executive positions and we look forward to her continuing to support the racing industry in other ways.”

Ms Frizelle’s resignation creates a vacancy on the RQ Board alongside the recently retired Steve Wilson AM.
