Form Analysis: Albion Park January 13

13 January 2026

RACE ONE

The mobile record of FENOMENAL (3) might not be inspired reading, but he finds the conditions here to make an improvement on the figures. Scoring a maiden mobile win four starts back in his 8th career victory, his past two placings have been from a 30m tape. This looks within reach.

 NORTHERN HEIGHTS (6)
had his chances finish before they started in The Great Square three starts back after the false start and delay saw him get too fizzy. Making errors at both subsequent outings, if he can stay composed and maintain gait, he can throw down a challenge.

 WHIRLWIND WILBUR (9)
is 0 from 22 at mobile conditions but recent efforts from big handicaps have been enough that if he can follow through early, the podium beckons.

 SON OF A SUN (7)
normally can begin strongly out of the machine and despite the wide gate, can look at forward positioning. Strong to the line last start, he can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: FENOMENAL (3), NORTHERN HEIGHTS (6), WHIRLWIND WILBUR (9), SON OF A SUN (7)
SUGGESTED BET: FENOMENAL (3) to win

RACE TWO

Hitting the board in five of eight in his first season of racing, DRAMAS (5) will make his first appearance as a 3YO here. Shut down following a maiden breaking win in June, he returned against older horses when 5m astern of the winner BE GOOD MIKI. Despite an awkward gate, he can capitalise.

 WHATA GOOD FEELING (2)
broke maiden ranks three starts back when descending on them to claim a 3m margin. Runner-up at her next start, she secured the perfect trip behind the speed last time to finish best. Relying on some tempo, she can issue a challenge.

 IDEAL BRONSKI (8)
is on the short back up after resuming from a spell on Friday with a dictating win from the front. Running some sharp time in that return, he secures early options as the lone second line runner and with the right trip will be a big player in this.

 YOURSOSPECIAL (6)
returns from a spell in her first outing as a 3YO. Runner-up to RIDE THE HIGHS in the fillies Triad two starts back, it is a tough gate to make the return.

SELECTIONS:
DRAMAS (5), WHATA GOOD FEELING (2), IDEAL BRONSKI (8), YOURSOSPECIAL (6)
 SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

Snagged back from a wide gate at the middle trip last time out, THE REAL ROCKETMAN (3) never warmed up in the latter stages when finishing at the rear. Runner-up at Redcliffe two starts back which was also from a wide gate, a return to the mile and fresh should suit for this.

 TOMMY BLIGH (4)
held the pocket trail from inside the second line last time out and chased home for the bronze behind TEACHERS PET at the middle trip. A beaten fav when 3m astern of the winner the start prior, he can settle handy enough to issue a challenge.

 MULLUM DOC (9)
burrowed through from the inside gate to hold the front last time out on The Triangle but was unable to fend off the challengers. With the right trail, he can be joining in.

 OYSTER STRIDE (1)
is the veteran of the field but from the inside alley should secure the right trip to be a factor. Forced to sit parked at the 2138 last start, he will not be too far away.

SELECTIONS: THE REAL ROCKETMAN (3), TOMMY BLIGH (4), MULLUM DOC (9), OYSTER STRIDE (1)
 SUGGESTED BET:
THE REAL ROCKETMAN (3) to win

RACE FOUR

Attacking the line strongly to grab the bronze three starts back, DEE TERROR (9) was under 5m from the winner MY ULTIMATE COSSIE in holding 3rd. Sent around them to sit parked last time and finishing just head from the winner, he finds conditions here to cash in for an overdue win.

 BURNS BAY (8)
has won two of his past three, working his way back into some form with both victories from the second line. Working hoe over the top to score last start with 2m in hand, he will be relying on some favours from this gate, yet if the gaps arrive in time, he can challenge.

 MUCH BETTOR (1)
made an early play from gate 2 last start but was repelled before securing 1x1 cover. Missing the money but only 3m from the winer, the early options should be available here to make a podium play at career start 200.

 KARINYA GILL (10)
attacked the line strongly at his first appearance in Qld when under 4m from the winner KASH TIN. Taken to Redcliffe in both subsequent outings, he is right in this.

SELECTIONS: DEE TERROR (9), BURNS BAY (8), MUCH BETTOR (1), KARINYA GILL (10)
 SUGGESTED BET:
DEE TERROR (9) to win

RACE FIVE

Stepping out for his first appearance since the Victoria Derby Final back in October, FINAL DEADLINE (2) has been to the trials twice in readiness for the return. Defeating FATE AWAITS and FERNCO NEL prior to the Melbourne trip, he lines up behind the tapes for the first time in Aus, but that should be no obstacle.

SEND IT (7) should appreciate the lift here, moving 10m forward from his effort last week where he was faced with the 30m tape. Game in defeat after working in the run and finishing under 4m from the winner, he has a strong record from behind the tapes and can throw down a challenge.

 QUADDIE VC (3)
started off this same tape two starts back and was making good metres in the closing stages when 2m from the winner GEM PUNTER PETE. Dictating last start from behind the mobile he is chasing a maiden win from the stand.

 ARKIN WICKED (1)
was able to hold the front here last week and trying to take them all the way, finished a neck from the winner TARGARYEN. From the front tape, he is a podium hope.

SELECTIONS: FINAL DEADLINE (2), SEND IT (7), QUADDIE VC (3), ARKIN WICKED (1)
 SUGGESTED BET:
FINAL DEADLINE (2) to win

RACE SIX

The inside second line hampered the chances of LLANFAIR LLEWELLAN (1) last week when buried in the run and not finding the gaps when needed behind MISS BAY KING COLE. Dictating and pulling clear to post an 11m margin two starts back, he has the gate to take control here.

 BRACKEN WARRIOR (8)
was a winner from outside the second line three starts back, powering home over the top of the opposition to score. Strong to the line from gate 7 last time out in grabbing the silver, he should be stalking the speed here, ready to take his shot in the stretch.

 BE GOOD MIKI (10)
found the ideal conditions here three starts back and from the front was able to see them off. Grabbed in the last strides by KASH TIN at his next outing, he is right in this.

 IMANI (6)
sat in the pocket trail on Friday and issued the closing volley to get within a half-head of the in-form OUR DICKIE BART. The wider gate makes this a tougher ask.

SELECTIONS: LLANFAIR LLEWELLAN (1), BRACKEN WARRIOR (8), BE GOOD MIKI (10), IMANI (6)
 SUGGESTED BET:
Exotics 1-6-8-10

RACE SEVEN

MULLUM HANK (10) was given no respect as the fav here on Saturday night from gate 4 and forced to do all the heavy lifting after initially being planted three wide. Too strong for the opposition and grinding out the victory, he can chase a repeat at the quick back-up.

 DAISY DIANA (7)
faces a test from this gate which comes with the ODM embargo following her error two starts back soon after the field was released. A beaten fav on that occasion, she bounced back with the narrowest of victories last start at the 2138 to extend her record to four from six here at HQ.

 SOHO CASABLANCA (3)
will take further benefit from his last start when second up from a break. Sitting parked in a small field, he missed the money but was only 3m from the winner and can look to take advantage of the draw.

 THETORQUE MAJORITY (5)
returns to make his first 4YO appearance off the back of one trial where he was never asked for anything. Shut down following a 5th in the Triad Final, he will be better for the outing.

SELECTIONS: MULLUM HANK (10), DAISY DIANA (7), SOHO CASABLANCA (3), THETORQUE MAJORITY (5)
 SUGGESTED BET:
MULLUM HANK (10) to win
