Form Analysis: Albion Park January 31

31 January 2026

RACE ONE

Finishing in the top two in all five starts since resuming for the new barn, POST PAINTER (9) made it three on end last start in a mare’s qualifier with a starchy performance. Claiming the prize with a 54.6 close out from the breeze, she can overcome the second line barrier and continue her march through the grades.

 STRIKEM (2)
will take huge benefit from his heat run for this final where he was first up since the heats of the Vic Derby. Midfield behind SAO PAULO SIMBA in that outing, he dictated from gate 4 when securing the August edition of a 75Final. Finding the front, he will be gripping on here.

 MULLUM HANK (8)
completed a hat-trick of victories last time out with victory in the junior FFA, sweeping home in posting a 7m margin. At risk of being buried, he only needs the gaps in time, and he will be a player.

 SEASIDE GLORY (1)
has placed at her past three in succession and maps to get the perfect trip behind the speed. 3m from POST PAINTER last start, she can be coiled and ready to offer.

SELECTIONS: POST PAINTER (9), STRIKEM (2), MULLUM HANK (8), SEASIDE GLORY (1)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-8-9

RACE TWO

A tricky consolation to the January 75Series where GLENEAGLE VEE CEE (4) might just have enough hustle to find the poles. Under that scenario, he would secure the options and opportunity to capitalise. A winner at 2138 three back when darting across and then taking cover, has placed in both subsequent attempts.

 MACH ASSASSIN (1)
led early before taking cover last start at 2138 and then issued the closing challenge to finish a head from the winner. Looking to dictate from gate 1 at the Redcliffe sprint trip in the heat of this series, he could not see it out when 3rd behind BEACHRIDE. With options, he can challenge.

 COMMODORE JUJON (8)
made the most of conditions last time out at the middle trip, pressing forward to take control and post a 23rd career victory. At risk of being snookered, he will be probing.

 GEM PUNTER PETE (3)
was a winner from standing start conditions three starts back but has missed out at his past two. Gunned down after leading as FACT FINDER darted through on the passing lane last start, he can feature here.

SELECTIONS:
GLENEAGLE VEE CEE (4), MACH ASSASSIN (1), COMMODORE JUJON (8), GEM PUNTER PETE (3)
 SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

Yet to miss a place in a dozen appearances since arriving in the Sunshine State, FERNCO NEL (11) ended his 3YO term in sizzling fashion, with a winning streak of four including a sub-50 mile. With some high class targets on the radar, he returns here off the back of an effortless trial on January 20 and despite the second line, can continue the dominance.

 MY ULTIMATE FLYNN (2)
made the most of the good gate to fire out and take control here three starts back over this trip and from the front held them off in claiming a 3m margin. Luckless last start when no gaps arrived, he can be first to the poles and be presented with the options.

 TARGARYEN (12)
was a standing start winner two starts back after securing the trail and finishing best for a narrow margin. Grabbing the bronze last start, tempo will be his ally from this gate.

 BANGKOK DEEJAY (8)
has found mobile conditions just once in his past five starts, holding on for the silver behind QUADDIE VC on that occasion. Needing some luck from this gate, he will be searching for gaps.

SELECTIONS: FERNCO NEL (11), MY ULTIMATE FLYNN (2), TARGARYEN (12), BANGKOK DEEJAY (8)
 SUGGESTED BET:
FERNCO NEL (11) to win

RACE FOUR

A win is imminent for DISTRICT ATTORNEY (9) who has now placed at his past four in succession, the latest when hitting the line in good style in finishing runner-up behind MULLUM HANK. Despite another second line gate, his fourth in succession, the tempo should be strong enough to work home over the top.

 ALWAYS SMOKIN (7)
will take further benefit from his latest outing when second up off a break. Angled to the inside, it was always going to be an ask to make an impression with CHEERSTOLOU dictating from the front. Despite the wide gate, this is a race that he can issue a challenge.

 DARIN (8)
was a winner when overcoming a wide gate at the mile two starts back, finishing hard to claim the W. Stepping up when clashing with LEAP TO FAME last start, he will be probing here.

 ELLIS STREET (1)
found the front last time out at the middle trip and just missed a minor as MULLUM HANK continued his great form. With the speed to protect the inside, he will be gripping on.

SELECTIONS: DISTRICT ATTORNEY (9), ALWAYS SMOKIN (7), DARIN (8), ELLIS STREET (1)
 SUGGESTED BET:
DISTRICT ATTORNEY (9) to win

RACE FIVE

The end of last season was not overly kind to UDDERLY SWEET (5) who bumped into some smart types that were advancing through the grades. A look through his form card will show winners the winners of four of his past five have been CHEERSTOLOU and FERNCO NEL. Runner-up in the Triad Final back in August, he can return fresh here with victory.

 REAL TIN TIN (2)
had the early speed to take control here last week at 2138 when protecting the inside from gate 1. With a solid tempo from the front, he was out of tokens turning for home, fading to be unplaced. Runner-up three starts back when 3m from MY ULTIMATE FLYNN, he has the gate to challenge.

 XPRESS PARTY (4)
settled in the 1x1 trail last time out and tried to make a late raid when finishing with the silver behind HOT ROD HARRY from this same gate. A similar trip should produce a similar result.

 JEKAMIAS (3)
backs up for his third run in a week after placing behind HOT ROD HARRY and following that with a tidy effort here on Tuesday when faced with gate 7. An improved gate is a plus.

SELECTIONS: UDDERLY SWEET (5), REAL TIN TIN (2), XPRESS PARTY (4), JEKAMIAS (3)
 SUGGESTED BET:
UDDERLY SWEET (5) to win

RACE SIX

Runner-up in his past three starts, SPEAK THE TRUTH (5) can overcome the wide gate and small field to return to winning form in this assignment. Starting to eat into the margin through the last 100m last week after starting from inside the second line, he was 1m astern of the winner TIMS A TROOPER the start prior. 2138 looks ideal for him to capitalise.

 JIMARTEE (3)
just cannot find the right set up for a breakthrough, with nothing really going his way since dictating to claim the 2025 ID Consolation. Lighting up all the boxes on the sectional results last week despite missing a cheque behind CHEERSTOLOU, two starts ago, he could not repel the challengers as TIMS A TROOPER arrived. The right trip can see him challenge.

 IM THE FALCON (2)
was first up for the new barn last time out, easing to the fence and darting through on the passing lane to be 3m astern of TIMS A TROOPER. With most of his racing at the mile, the middle trip could be a query.

SELECTIONS: SPEAK THE TRUTH (5), JIMARTEE (3), IM THE FALCON (2)
 SUGGESTED BET:
SPEAK THE TRUTH (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

Putting the frustrations of his past three starts aside, AJAY VOLSTEAD (2) was back in winning form last week when stepping cleanly off the front tape, taking control and denying the chasers with a 26.8 closing panel to score. A return to mobile conditions can see him chase consecutive victories.

 GET USED TO IT (3)
was on a six-run streak of finishing in the top three when missing a cheque two starts back, despite being under 5m from the winner. Sitting parked after moving forward from the 20m tape last week, the effort was strong in grabbing silver behind AJAY VOLSTEAD. With good arm hustle, he can get forward to challenge,

 GOLDEN SUNSET (6)
returns from a let up following her last start victory in the Christmas Cup when overcoming a 10m handicap. Runner-up to GUS back five runs back when leading from gate 4, she is in the mix.

 NOT AS PROMISED (8)
made an error here last week when returning from a spell and starting from the 20m tape. Claiming the mile track record two starts back, he has second line options and cannot be ignored.

SELECTIONS: AJAY VOLSTEAD (2), GET USED TO IT (3), GOLDEN SUNSET (6), NOT AS PROMISED (8)
 SUGGESTED BET:
AJAY VOLSTEAD (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

Making the most of stepping back to Redcliffe company two starts back, MAJORTIA JUJON (5) overcame an outside second line gate with an effortless win. Sectionally impressive last week when chasing home behind POST PAINTER, she is ready to cash in with victory in this grade.

 HARPERVILLE (4)
had placed in three successive attempts heading into last week’s assignment from inside the second line. Working around the field to sit parked in that band 5 event, she returns to qualifying company here and with early speed, can get forward to throw down the challenge.

 OUR MIKI DIVA (6)
was faced with a second line gate last time out when trying to make metres in the latter stages as the in-form POST PAINTER claimed victory. The gate makes it a tough ask.

 OUT OF EDEN (7)
claimed a second division qualifier four back and followed that with successive placings. Midfield last start when tucked away on the fence, the wide alley is brutal.

SELECTIONS:
MAJORTIA JUJON (5), HARPERVILLE (4), OUR MIKI DIVA (6), OUT OF EDEN (7)
 SUGGESTED BET:
MAJORTIA JUJON (5) to win

RACE NINE

Stepping out for the first time in 2026, TREMENDOUS SENSATION (4) comes into this fresh since finishing 3rd behind LUX AETERNA in the Forever Gold in early December. That ended a streak of seven successive victories which had included a victory over FERNCO NEL and a 1.50.8 performance in the Queen of the Creek. Fitness looks the only query.

 SERGIOS ROCKET (2)
franked the effort of a recent trial when spearing off the arm here last week, taking control and holding on for a narrow victory in a new PB rate. With the gate to launch early, she can attempt to issue the challenge.

 IMA QUEEN BEE (3)
was a winner three starts back when making a mid-race move to find the front and pull clear in posting a 7m margin. Beaten an eyelash by CONGO LINE last week after a tough trip when parked, a return to her own sex is a big plus.

SELECTIONS:
TREMENDOUS SENSATION (4), SERGIOS ROCKET (2), IMA QUEEN BEE (3)
 SUGGESTED BET:
TREMENDOUS SENSATION (4) to win
