Form Analysis: Albion Park January 6

6 January 2026

RACE ONE

First up off a freshen last time out at the 2138 stand, ALDEBARANSTILINKSI (5) found the pocket trail and when set free in the stretch, had the speed to pull clear for the prize. An error at the mobile 2138 two starts back ended his chances and in the small field can look for a repeat victory.

 DARCYS FIREBALL (2)
angled back to the inside to make his run last start when grabbing the bronze behind ALDEBARANSTILINSKI. That was on a three-day back-up from a 4m margin behind VAN SANK in a strong Saturday night event. From the gate he can issue a challenge.

 NORTHERN HEIGHTS (3)
made a mess of the start last time out when faced with a 10m impost from behind the tapes. Chasing the star mare KEAYANG ZAHARA the start prior, back to these conditions can see him feature.

SELECTIONS: ALDEBARANSTILINKSI (5), DARCYS FIREBALL (2), NORTHERN HEIGHTS (3)
SUGGESTED BET: ALDEBARANSTILINKSI (5) to win

RACE TWO

A winner at his first appearance on this side of the Tasman, MOONSHINER (6) overcame a second line gate at the 2138 with 9m to spare. That has proven to be a strong form reference, with seven defeated runners’ subsequent winners. Runner-up himself in all three since, he finds the right conditions to capitalise.

 JILLIBY GIDDEY (4)
will benefit from his last start, which was the first run back from a spell. Finishing at the rear when faced with a second line gate in that contest which was at the middle trip, a return to these conditions and small field can see him issue a challenge.

 COUNTY COURT JUDGE (5)
is another that will tighten from his latest performance which was his first since July. Eased from gate 5 before making late metres to be under 5m from KASH TIN, he is right in the fight here.

SELECTIONS:
MOONSHINER (6), JILLIBY GIDDEY (4), COUNTY COURT JUDGE (5)
 SUGGESTED BET:
MOONSHINER (6) to win

RACE THREE

Only a small field, but there is depth to the line up and with the right tempo and trip, it would be no surprise for any of the six to win. DAISY DIANA (6) tackled a mare’s qualifier last start when sent to the post in red figures from the second line, however a minor error saw her 6m astern of the winner. At her best, she can take this, but she does have some tricks.

 BETTORS MOON (1)
tackled a mare’s qualifier last start when sent forward from a wide gate over this trip. Unable to see them off when 9m astern of the winner JENSVILLE, she has developed a consistent record on this deck that shows 22: 6-3-4. The gate is a huge asset.

 SOHO CASABLANCA (2)
will strip fitter from the last start when first up in over seven weeks. Setting the tempo when fading late as POST PAINTER prevailed, he can be handy enough from this gate to feature.

SELECTIONS: DAISY DIANA (6), BETTORS MOON (1), SOHO CASABLANCA (2)
 SUGGESTED BET:
DAISY DIANA (6) to win

RACE FOUR

An open trotting contest where 30m is a tough ask for FENOMENAL (11) to overcome, however his recent efforts suggest he is up to the challenge. Only a neck away here last week off this same impost, he was a winner from the mobile three back and can look to capitalise here.

 IGNITE (1)
had found his race here five starts back and hitting the front, was nabbed in the last stride when beaten a pimple. Runner-up to that same winner WHIRLWIND WILBUR three starts back, the front tape and inside lane give him the chance to issue another challenge.

 ALADDIN SANE (9)
was making a late raid here last start to grab the bronze when just 1m from the winner YSMIR. Placed in three of his past five, he can be making a closing play here.

 VOLTAIN (3)
made an error when the tapes released last start and was chasing thereafter. Only a half-neck away when making the closing play two back, a safe start is the key to her chances.

SELECTIONS: FENOMENAL (11), IGNITE (1), ALADDIN SANE (9), VOLTAIN (3)
 SUGGESTED BET:
FENOMENAL (11) to win

RACE FIVE

Overcoming gate four and a flat tyre in the run here two starts back, JUSTROLLINGAROUND (1) was able to finish best and claim a new PB with the win. Midfield last start, she secures the chance to tuck in behind the speed and if the gap presents, she can dart through for the W.

 HATTIES JEWEL (3)
was second up from a spell last start and using her customary early speed was trying to take them all the way. Leading into the stretch, only MACS A DUDE which had the cold sit in transit was able to get past. Added fitness can see her throw it down.

 MACS A DUDE (8)
started from this same barrier last start and made full use of the lane when it presented to dart through and grab victory. Likely to be one further spot back this week, he will be probing for the openings.

 MUCH BETTOR (2)
has placed on The Triangle at his past two starts and will try to bring that form to the big deck. Settling close to the speed will assist his podium claims.

SELECTIONS: JUSTROLLINGAROUND (1), HATTIES JEWEL (3), MACS A DUDE (8), MUCH BETTOR (2)
 SUGGESTED BET:
Exotics 1-2-3-8

RACE SIX

Placed in both appearances since arriving in the new barn, QUADDIE VC (3) should appreciate the conditions on offer here. Releasing after finding the front and holding 2nd behind TIGER BAND WAGON two starts back, he was strong to the line last start after facing a 10m tape at the standing start.

 AMAMI (5)
started off the 20m tape last start and descending on them in the closing stages, had the speed to claim a 3m margin. Attacking the line strongly the start prior when 3m from STILLYOURSHOT, the small field will assist his chances of issuing the challenge.

 BANGKOK DEEJAY (1)
should appreciate finding mobile conditions after starting from behind the tapes at his past four in succession. Ending his chances with starting errors at his past three, the inside gate is a huge asset.

SELECTIONS: QUADDIE VC (3), AMAMI (5), BANGKOK DEEJAY (1)
 SUGGESTED BET:
QUADDIE VC (3) to win

RACE SEVEN

On the short back up from Saturday night, TARGARYEN (3) last tackled these conditions four starts back. Faced with a 20m tape on that occasion when finishing just 5m from DISTRICT ATTORNEY, his effort behind CHEERSTOLOU on Saturday suggests he can capitalise here.

 ARKIN WICKED (1)
has been a regular in these standing start events in recent weeks, the latest when missing the money behind GEM PUNTER PETE. Setting a slick tempo before fading out two starts back, he has the manners to issue a challenge.

 ELLIS STREET (5)
will need to be forgiven for his most recent appearance when fading to the rear when unable to get into the contest behind CALL TO ORDER. Look for the bounce back.

 MISTER REACTOR (4)
has won two of his six appearances from behind the tapes, including a passing lane victory from a 10m impost four starts back. With the right trip, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: TARGARYEN (3), ARKIN WICKED (1), ELLIS STREET (5), MISTER REACTOR (4)
 SUGGESTED BET:
TARGARYEN (3) to win

RACE EIGHT

This grade of contest are always tricky affairs, and this will be no different with the added overlay of the 2138 which always sorts many of them. ROYAL PRINCESS (10) has no issue at the distance and has placed at her past two since winning at the mile three back. Despite the gate, she should secure the right trip to cash in.

 OYSTER STRIDE (3)
has been kept fresh since his last outing when a beaten fav over the Redcliffe sprint trip. Strong to the line two starts back when drawn outside the second line and finishing just 3m astern of the winner, he can get handy to issue a challenge at a trip he enjoys.

 TEACHERS PET (1)
found the ideal opposition last start and duly justified the $1.60 SP in posting a 7m margin. The middle trip is always the concern, however the gate helps.

 DOOLITTLE DOOZZIE (4)
was sent forward from a second line gate at Redcliffe last start and forcing the issue was able to grind out a narrow victory. A tough 3rd two back, she is in the mix.

SELECTIONS:
ROYAL PRINCESS (10), OYSTER STRIDE (3), TEACHERS PET (1), DOOLITTLE DOOZZIE (4)
 SUGGESTED BET:
ROYAL PRINCESS (10) to win

RACE NINE

A drop back to Tuesday company was the ideal catalyst for OUR DICKIE BART (9) to find winning form here last week. Overcoming gate 7 when working home strongly wide pout to post a 4m margin, wide gates in stronger metro events had dented his claims in his prior two attempts. He can chase a repeat.

 YANKEE C J (3)
claimed a career PB victory here two starts back when pressing forward from a wide gate, taking control and fending them off with 9m to spare at the wire. Collared up the passing lane last time when setting the tempo, he can get handy to issue the challenge.

 COPPERFIELD (1)
should benefit from his last start when resuming from a let up off this same gate. Midfield behind LANAI, he has the options to chase a podium finish.

 BE GOOD MIKI (7)
found the right conditions here two starts back when able to find the front and see them off. A beaten fav last start behind KASH TIN, the wide gate dents the prospects.

SELECTIONS:
OUR DICKIE BART (9), YANKEE C J (3), COPPERFIELD (1), BE GOOD MIKI (7)
 SUGGESTED BET:
OUR DICKIE BART (9) to win

RACE TEN

Placed in four of his previous six appearances, LLANFAIR LLEWELLAN (8) was able to deliver the breakthrough last start when pressing forward from gate 5 and taking them all the way to a new PB mile. A game 2nd when beaten a half-head the start prior, he will be stalking here.

 SPORTS BOUNTY (1)
has been runner-up at his past two, gunned down at the wire on both occasions after setting the speed. 4m from OUR DICKIE BART last time after an opening half of 57.7, the start prior it was a 58.2 opener set when collared. Pinching an early panel will be key.

 SII SEMPRE TILLY (3)
has placed in four of five since resuming from a spell, the latest when 6m astern of subsequent winner EYE SEE THESEASIDE in a mare’s qualifier. Early speed will assist her chances.

 BRACKEN WARRIOR (7)
was a winner from outside the second line at this trip two starts back when finishing over the top. Unable to get warm last start, this gate makes it a tough ask.

SELECTIONS: LLANFAIR LLEWELLAN (8), SPORTS BOUNTY (1), SII SEMPRE TILLY (3), BRACKEN WARRIOR (7)
 SUGGESTED BET:
Exotics 1-3-7-8
