RACE 1

WICKED WHISKY (5) was forced to face the breeze two starts ago and battled on strongly there to finish second behind Paris Rouge beating home subsequent winner Miss Bluetrump. He may look to press forward in this race and if he can find the front he will be hard to run down.

HYPNOTIZE ME (6) could be the most interesting runner of the week in QLD starting for the first time as a pacer having won two races as a trotter earlier in the year. Given he is out of a mare that has only produced trotters and is out of a trotting stallion Sebastian K he has seemingly defied the odds to step out as a pacer. He trialled up impressively in a recent trial when buried away on the pegs before powering through the line late.

MIGHTY IDEAL (1) took on a small field last start and was well beaten there. He looks unlikely to be able to match it with the top two in this race but from an ideal draw he has strong claims for the minor money.

BOSTON FIRE (2) with no back row in this race he should get a soft run on the pegs and has run well previously at this track with a similar run. Despite his numerical form he should be thereabouts the placings.

SELECTIONS: WICKED WHISKY (5), HYPNOTIZE ME (6), MIGHTY IDEAL (1), BOSTON FIRE (2)

SUGGESTED BET: WICKED WHISKY (5) to win.

RACE 2

LAZENA (1) was well driven last start when working across to get in behind the leader last time out and running second to Mysticalfantasy. She was able to beat key rival Fifty Each Way in that race who finished third having to come from a long way off the speed. If she can lead she should be hard to run down.

FIFTY EACH WAY (4) got well back last start and was running on late but just found one better in Just Pinny who proved too good having followed her into the race. She draws awkwardly in this race outside of her key rival and is going to find it tough to beat her.

KINGSBURY (2) was well beaten last start after securing a good run three back on the pegs behind Hes Regal. He should find this a lot easier in this race and draws favourably. He looks to have each way claims.

PRIORITY BETTING (5) sat on the leaders back last start and faded out of it late into sixth. He should find this easier but he does draw poorly and hasn’t shown a huge amount since landing back in QLD.

SELECTIONS: LAZENA (1), FIFTY EACH WAY (4), KINGSBURY (2), PRIORITY BETTING (5)

SUGGESTED BET: LAZENA (1) to win.

RACE 3

WILLIEWA LIGHTNING (3) has good gate speed and might be able to zip across and lead this race in the early stages. He worked to the lead two starts ago and was beaten by Major Slip Up who was quite well graded in that race.

ILLBEWATCHING (5) worked to the lead four starts ago and proved too good there leading all the way over the 2040 at this track. He has since run well and just hasn’t had as favourable a run. He got a long way back last start and was running on well late into a midfield finish.

ULTIMATE HUNTER (8) got a long way back last start and was running on nicely late. He should get a good run through early in this race and if the speed is on he should be running into it late.

MAGIC NITRO (1) was able to secure a good run last start and ran a solid fourth when racing over the less suitable 2040 journey. She steps back to the 1780 in this race and should secure a good run again.

SELECTIONS: WILLIEWA LIGHTNING (3), ILLBEWATCHING (5), ULTIMATE HUNTER (8), MAGIC NITRO (1)

SUGGESTED BET: ULTIMATE HUNTER (8) each way.

RACE 4

GRAFFITI LANE (6) started from a wide gate last start at Albion Park and ran on strongly into fourth in a race the winner Justrollingaround rated fast time for the grade. He faces another awkward draw this time outside the front row and will have a tricky decision to make at the start whether he heads back or looks to press forward.

VIKANDER (5) did plenty of work last time out at Marburg when sitting in the breeze and beaten late by Dancin With Lush who had a more economical run in the race. She hasn’t started in nearly a month which looks a query but has plenty of ability and if she can secure a more economical she should be thereabouts again.

LOUISE LUCK (9) is having her first start in QLD in this race and looks to bring solid form into the race. She was well beaten last start when running fourth behind Bizzie Lizzie but did find herself a long way back in the run.

NEED NOT TO WORRY (8) secured a good run leaders back in a race taken out by Arkuna where he battled away well enough for fourth. This race looks a touch easier and he should get a good run off the speed.

SELECTIONS: GRAFFITI LANE (6), VIKANDER (5), LOUISE LUCK (9), NEED NOT TO WORRY (8)

SUGGESTED BET: GRAFFITI LANE (6) to win.

RACE 5

CANDYKANE (5) burned hard to lead last start and gave ground a long way from home to finish eighth at this track and distance. She had raced in strongly company her two starts prior to last start and with a better run in this race she should be hard to beat.

HEAVENS BABY (7) returned to form last start when stepping back to the 1780 and running second to Aunty Frances after getting a long way back in the run. She should get a good run through early on the back of a gate speed horse and can be running on again.

BETTING BARON (2) led and appeared to have his chance when running second to Malibu Dream. He draws well in this race and should be able to secure a similar run and can run well again.

MAGICOL IDEAL (6) has excellent gate speed but does draw outside of a horse that also has very good gate speed. He looks well graded in this race and should be hard to beat with the right run.

SELECTIONS: CANDYKANE (5), HEAVENS BABY (7), BETTING BARON (2), MAGICOL IDEAL (6)

SUGGESTED BET: HEAVENS BABY (7) to win.

RACE 6

ITS ONE LIFE (2) has been out of form in recent starts taking on stronger company. He doesn’t have much gate speed which can often prove an issue for him. He should be suited drawing low at the 2040 start point. If he can drive through and lead he would be hard to run down.

FAVREAU (3) secured a good run three starts ago and ran on well into second there over the 2138 at Albion Park. He got back in the run last start at Redcliffe and was well beaten in a race that wasn’t run to suit finishing ninth. He looks suited in this field and can bounce back.

WELL SAID NUGGET (4) ran a much better race last start finishing off strongly late behind Jet Force in a race they rated decent time for the grade. He is unlikely to secure such a good run this time from an awkward draw.

JAY TEE TYRON (7) should get a good run through early on the back of a horse that has excellent gate speed in Royal Winkle. If the speed is on and the gaps open up at the right time he should be running into it late.

SELECTIONS: ITS ONE LIFE (2), FAVREAU (3), WELL SAID NUGGET (4), JAY TEE TYRON (7)

SUGGESTED BET: ITS ONE LIFE (2) to win.

RACE 7

MISSED CONSEQUENCES (8) has impressed since joining the stable of Donny Smith winning two starts ago before running second last start over the 2040. She appeared to get quite keen and ran strong sectionals last start when beaten by Maywyn Troubadour who had a soft run in the race. She can bounce back.

BAIL DENIED (5) was a winner last start when leading all the way over the 2040 at this track. He is likely better suited over the 1780 and should be able to work forward and find a prominent position in this race.

MIKIS JOE (6) was able to win last start when sitting without cover and just proving too strong there. He is one of the class runners in this race and as a result he draws wide again and will likely need to do the work. He should be thereabouts again.

LOVIN MISS DIXIE (1) has good gate speed and an ideal draw in this race. She should be able to zip out and from there will have options. She was able to put together consecutive wins before running fifth last start.

SELECTIONS: MISSED CONSEQUENCES (8), BAIL DENIED (5), MIKIS JOE (6), LOVIN MISS DIXIE (1)

SUGGESTED BET: MISSED CONSEQUENCES (8) to win.

RACE 8

KARINYA GILL (4) impressed when first up in the state for the stable of Jack Butler. He got a long way back last start from an awkward draw and ran on strongly into fourth behind Kash Tin. He is likely to have derived benefit from that first up outing and should be hard to hold out late.

ROCK NIEN (2) has good gate speed and might be able to press onto the front in this race. Last time he led at this track and trip he proved too good when beating The Tiger Army. This race does appear to have more depth and he will likely need a comfortable lead.

MY ULTIMATE BUDDHA (5) has previously raced in strong company as a younger horse including having taken on The Hayden last year and run impressively to finish midfield. He hasn’t quite been able to recapture his best form most of this year but did run well last start and may be heading in the right direction.

RADIANT AMBER (9) scored a huge win when running on from off the speed two starts ago over this track and trip and rating fast time. She then stepped back to the 1780 last start and came up just short when running well for second behind Moops.

SELECTIONS: KARINYA GILL (4), ROCK NIEN (2), MY ULTIMATE BUDDHA (5), RADIANT AMBER (9)

SUGGESTED BET: KARINYA GILL (4) to win.
