Form Analysis: Albion Park February 27

27 February 2026

RACE ONE

Added experience will assist the 3YO filly ZEEZEEZOOM (3) after a smart effort chasing home at just her second career start. A debut winner at Redcliffe when working in the run and gripping on, she was again full of fight when 1m away from gate 7. This looks like her chance to capitalise.

DOUG STEWART (2) showed good speed off the arm last start before taking the trail and was still there on the wire when 4m from ALWAYSBJOY. Fitter again from that effort where he was second up from a break, he can get forward to issue the challenge.

 GOTTAGO BARNEY (6)
had trialed nicely in readiness for his return to the track but faced a wide gate and a tough run. The gate stings again here and it might be a case of wait for the alley.

 LUCKY LUDA (5)
will benefit from her last outing where she was first up since September and started from inside the second line. Midfield in that, she can be an improver here.

SELECTIONS: ZEEZEEZOOM (3), DOUG STEWART (2), GOTTAGO BARNEY (6), LUCKY LUDA (5)
SUGGESTED BET: ZEEZEEZOOM (3) to win

RACE TWO

Forced to miss the McNeil Final following a gait break in the second heat round, MAJESTIC BREEZE (12) had won her first-round heat when sent out in red figures. Nursed to the line for 3rd and 7m from the winner here last week by Gary Hall Jnr in the UDC, she can bounce back in this.

 VOLTAIN (4)
struck trouble last start and did well to grab 4th. Chasing home the smart LOOK FOR TASCOTT at her past two starts, she will appreciate his absence here and with a safe start from the 10m tape can secure the position to throw down the challenge.

 OGDEN (1)
was safely away before taking cover last time where he then held on for the bronze behind subsequent winner LOOK FOR TASCOTT. Another safe start keeps him in the mix.

 CASCATA (11)
has been kept fresh since her last appearance when working in the run and just missing the money. A hard mare to catch, an effort like her 2nd to SASSY GALLEON three back keeps her in the mix.

SELECTIONS:
MAJESTIC BREEZE (12), VOLTAIN (4), OGDEN (1), CASCATA (11)
 SUGGESTED BET:
VOLTAIN (4) win/place

RACE THREE

Sent for a break following a last start victory prior to Christmas, STILLYOURSHOT (2) returns here and finds the right gate fresh up. Beaten a blister when parked in 53.2 two starts back, he was again asked to roll the sleeves last time when grinding out a half-neck margin. Whatever he achieves here can be built upon.

 COTCHINELLIE (1)
was first up for the new stable here last week when holding on for the bronze behind MAJOR CRUNCH in Saturday night company. Posting successive Mildura victories to close out the 2025 season, he secures the gate here to issue a challenge.

 OZZIE PUNTA (8)
makes a Qld debut for the visiting McCarthy barn and arrives off the back of a 6m margin last time behind BARTELLO at Menangle. The second-line options appeal.

 LANAI (6)
sat off tempo from a wide second line gate at 2138 two starts back and had the speed to descend on them for a narrow margin. Just 4m from DISTRICT ATTORNEY last start, any tempo keeps him right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: STILLYOURSHOT (2), COTCHINELLIE (1), OZZIE PUNTA (8), LANAI (6)
 SUGGESTED BET:
Exotics 1-2-6-8

RACE FOUR

With just two runners boasting winning form beyond a mile and another five stepping out at the middle trip for the first time, there are some unknowns to consider. BARSBY (5) was second up last start off a second-line gate at Redcliffe, circling early to find the front but missing the money at a long odds-on quote. He can chase redemption.

 SWEET DIOR (10)
should derive much benefit from her first appearance for the new stable here last week when leading throughout and posting a 3m margin. Running a new PB with the effort, her first since November, she can follow through and look to descend on them.

 KING BLING (4)
was a Redcliffe winner two starts back when forced to work in the run and posting a 4m margin. 3m astern of SWEET DIOR last time out when 3rd, he is a podium player.

 SHES MY MISTAKE (1)
was beaten for speed off the ace at Redcliffe last start before easing off the inside into the running line. Finishing best to score, a soft trip here can see her chime in.

SELECTIONS: BARSBY (5), SWEET DIOR (10), KING BLING (4), SHES MY MISTAKE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: BARSBY (5) to win

RACE FIVE

On the quick back-up from Tuesday, AMILLIONCHANCES (9) will be looking for this to play out in similar fashion. Securing 1x1 cover, he had the closing speed to arrive with 4m to spare and hit the board for the first time in 22 attempts on this deck. Following through early, he can improve the stats with another W.

 MISS HATTIE (4)
has placed at her past two starts, the latest when holding on for the bronze behind a dictating PRINCESS ARNA. Strong to the line from deep field at Redcliffe the start prior, positioning cheaply here can see her challenge.

 MY ULTIMATE LOUIE (3)
has early speed and can look to find a handy position soon after the start. Gunned down from the front last start as DOC HARVEY arrives, he has claims.

 KEAYANG TARA (6)
started from this gate last start when retreating early and never getting warm in the closing stages. Taking benefit from that first up outing, she can be sharper here.

SELECTIONS: AMILLIONCHANCES (9), MISS HATTIE (4), MY ULTIMATE LOUIE (3), KEAYANG TARA (6)
 SUGGESTED BET:
AMILLIONCHANCES (9) to win

RACE SIX

This race looks the classic case of class versus map. With second-line options, TEDDY TURPIN (8) can get the season underway after finishing unplaced in both outings to date, the latest when working early from gate 6. Working off the inside, any hint of tempo can see him descend.

 WE ALWAYS HAVE FAITH (7)
has not been helped by tough gates in recent outings, the latest when eased from 6 before making some late metres as CHEZZ DALE landed the winning blow. Forced to sit parked two starts back, he finds the right opposition to challenge here.

 CAPTAINS PICK (1)
has been hitting good areas in recent appearances, the latest a game effort for 2nd behind BELLISIMO ACQUISTO. A winner from the trail two back, he is right in the fight.

 BUDDY PERFECT (2)
was stung from a wide gate last start when eased as STRIKEM proved too classy. Positioning closer from this gate will assist his podium hopes.

SELECTIONS: TEDDY TURPIN (8), WE ALWAYS HAVE FAITH (7), CAPTAINS PICK (1), BUDDY PERFECT (2)
 SUGGESTED BET:
  TEDDY TURPIN (8) to win

RACE SEVEN

In another contest that will see a few peak on the run as they tackle 2138, FRANCO MACHO (2) has the gate to claim a breakthrough. Finding the trail at this trip and holding the silver when 3m from MAJOR CRUNCH, he was strong to the line that start prior at the mile behind CAPTAINS PICK. He can capitalise from the gate.

 JUST A COOL DUDE (3)
has been hard to line up in four runs back from a spell, but there is enough to suggest he is not far off putting it together. Chasing for the bronze behind the dictating SON OF THE SHARK last week, the start prior he was too far back. Look for him challenging here.

 VINCENT TIME (1)
was trying to make an impression from deep field at Redcliffe last start after starting from outside the second line and finishing midfield. His lone win beyond the sprint trip was a dictating effort at this distance and from the gate can feature.

 QUIK CHANGE (9)
will take added benefit from the latest offering when second up from a break. Eased early, he was chasing as JEKAMIAS arrived. The right trail assists his chances.

SELECTIONS: FRANCO MACHO (2), JUST A COOL DUDE (3), VINCENT TIME (1), QUIK CHANGE (9)
 SUGGESTED BET:
FRANCO MACHO (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

Making full use of the gate here last week, TOMMY BLIGH (1) was sent to the front and from there was never in danger, posting a career PB with 4m to spare. Runner-up the start prior at the mile when collared late by subsequent winner MARTIN MAGIC, he gets every chance to cash in.

 ROCKTIME (5)
could not get warm here last week as GREY CADILLAC was able to grind out the victory. Too far back here two starts back when retreating early, he is a seven-time winner on this deck and with the right trip, finds the conditions to challenge.

 JEFFCOATE (8)
started from this same gate last time out and was luckless, buried away and never found the gaps when needed. Runner-up at Redcliffe two starts back, spotting a gap in time will assist his claims.

 GENTLE GIANT (10)
dictated from the front at the Redcliffe 2040 two starts back when posting a 2m margin. Not suited when parked last time out, he can be looking to chime in and might just hold the winning raffle ticket.

SELECTIONS: TOMMY BLIGH (1), ROCKTIME (5), JEFFCOATE (8), GENTLE GIANT (10)
 SUGGESTED BET:

RACE NINE

Despite a potentially awkward gate, BE GOOD MIKI (6) will move one spot closer with the early scratching and should appreciate this level of contest. Not suited last start with a tough run first over, the start prior was a strong effort when 5m from HOLD ONTO YA BLING. This is within reach.

 SPORTY ZARA (7)
was exposed early before receiving cover last time out when midfield behind LITTLELIONELJAMES. Unable to warm up two starts back behind CAPTAINS PICK, the gate stings but with the right trip, look for her making a closing challenge in this line up.

 BRIAN CHRISTOPHER (9)
just missed the money last start when making a late raid to be 3m from the winner MARTIN MAGIC. Placed in all three prior, he can follow through and make a late play.

 STUDLEIGH MARK (10)
was game in defeat here last start when sent to the chair over the 2138 which is not normally his jam. Under 5m from the winner, a return to the mile is a big plus and he is right in this.

SELECTIONS: BE GOOD MIKI (6), SPORTY ZARA (7), BRIAN CHRISTOPHER (9), STUDLEIGH MARK (10)
 SUGGESTED BET:
STUDLEIGH MARK (10) win/place
