RACE 1

ROSIE POLLEN (1) is having her second start for the stable of Jack Butler having put in an excellent run last time out closing off strongly to not be beaten far in sixth. Although she has seemingly done her best work when driven with cover she should have the speed to lead initially and will have options from there.

MISS SYRAH (2) is a brilliant beginner and was able to cross before handing over and running third. She is always competitive but rarely wins which is highlighted by her 27 placings and just four wins. If she can zip across early her chances of figuring would greatly increase.

ROCK IT BABY (5) is in super form having won two of his last three starts before an unlucky eighth last start. He should find this a bit easier than his latest outing where he was up against Barrett and Azor Ahai. He generally does his best work up on speed but there is some speed drawn to his inside.

ROLLYARRRZ (8) ran well last start when running on late into fourth and a similar effort would likely see him very competitive in this race. He will be hoping for a genuine early tempo and he should be running into it strongly late.

SELECTIONS: ROSIE POLLEN (1), MISS SYRAH (2), ROCK IT BABY (5), ROLLYARRRZ (8)

SUGGESTED BET: ROSIE POLLEN (1) to win.

RACE 2

ILLBEWATCHING (2) was forced to do plenty of work last time out at this track when sitting outside the leader in a race they ran along. He did well to battle on for fourth there and draws better this time in a race he looks like he could potentially be the leader. If he can find the front he is the one to beat.

DIPPED IN SILVER (4) was a winner three starts ago when running over the top late to score over the 2040 at this track in good time beating Oyster Stride. That race may have been a touch stronger race than the one she finds herself in here. She looks likely to be shuffled back early and should be running on late.

LAST CALL (8) seemed to get a touch keen last start after punching through off the back row to hold a position early. She had been going much better before her last start outing and if she can settle early she should be hard to hold out.

SNIP OF BEAUTY (6) was held up last start on the pegs before hitting the line fairly late in a quick last half. She draws wide this time in a slightly weaker race and will be relying on some early tempo to bring her into the race. Should run well again.

SELECTIONS: ILLBEWATCHING (2), DIPPED IN SILVER (4), LAST CALL (8), SNIP OF BEAUTY (6)

SUGGESTED BET: ILLBEWATCHING (2) to win.

RACE 3

SPORTY AZZ (5) four and five starts ago he was able to run two good second placings at this track. He has since raced without luck finishing fifth two starts ago after getting back to last in the run. He draws wide in this race but should find this a lot easier and is going to be hard to hold out.

DOC HARVEY (2) ran a better race last start when working to the lead before handing over and finishing 5 metres from the winner. He finds another moderate contest where he should be able to get forward and will have options from there. Can run well again.

MAJOR GENERALJUJON (1) draws well in this race to get a good run. He has been held up at a crucial stage in his recent outings at Albion Park over the 2138 and may find this company a touch easier than those recent outings.

GHOST TRAIN (4) led and controlled things four starts ago at Redcliffe and was able to run second in an effort that would likely see him competitive in a race of this nature. He worked forward from an awkward draw last time out and ran a solid race there behind Betting Baron. He is a month between runs into this race which looks a potential query.

SELECTIONS: SPORTY AZZ (5), DOC HARVEY (2), MAJOR GENERALJUJON (1), GHOST TRAIN (4)

SUGGESTED BET: SPORTY AZZ (5) to win.

RACE 4

IMPERMISSIBLE (5) worked to the lead last start and scored a dominant win despite seemingly over racing the whole way. The step up to the 2040 is seemingly a bit of a query given her manners and tendency to get a touch keen. She does still look a standout and can likely lead and be hard to beat again.

SO MANY MOMENTS (8) had nothing go right last start. She was taken to the pegs in the early stages before being dragged a long way out of the race and was only able to get into the clear very late before powering home making up a lot of ground. She loves racing at this track and trip and lands a good trailing draw this time.

DUAL CAM (10) returns to QLD having done his recent racing in NSW. He looks to have been contesting some stronger races there run in solid times at Tamworth. He returns to a track where he has previously had success and should be running on well if the race is run to suit.

TWEEDY (4) was able to run a good race last start when working hard to find a spot before the leader Impermissible and running a good second in nice time for the grade. She lands a draw where she might be able to get forward again and find a similar position.

SELECTIONS: IMPERMISSIBLE (5), SO MANY MOMENTS (8), DUAL CAM (10), TWEEDY (4)

SUGGESTED BET: SO MANY MOMENTS (8) each way.

RACE 5

GOOD WORD THAT (1) has been out of form for some time now and finds herself a long way back in grade from some of her better form. She was caught wide early last start and made a break losing plenty of ground before hitting the line moderately late. She begins reasonably but there is some chance Connies Spirit might zip across early but the retake move for the lead could potentially be a chance which would see her given every chance to bound back into form.

SHADYS DELIGHT (6) put in a very good run two starts ago when finishing second to Candykane despite starting outside the back row in that race. He draws poorly again this time outside the front row and could be shuffled a long way back early. He will need the race run to suit and can be running into it late.

CONNIES SPIRIT (4) has brilliant gate speed and might be able to cross and has options from there. She did work two starts ago and just isn’t suited doing work in her races. She was shuffled back last time out and was hitting the line nicely late once into the clear.

MOLLIDOR (7) worked hard to lead last start and was well beaten as a result at this track. She should get a much softer run through in the early stages of this race and should be more competitive.

SELECTIONS: GOOD WORD THAT (1), SHADYS DELIGHT (6), CONNIES SPIRIT (4), MOLLIDOR (7)

SUGGESTED BET: CONNIES SPIRIT (4) each way.

RACE 6

NITE IRENE (6) put the writing on the wall ahead of a return to the races after a long spell with an excellent trial before running a narrow second first up and scoring a dominant win when leading last time out. She should be able to launch forward in the early stages of this race and if she was able to land in front she would likely be very hard to beat.

LETS TORQUEABOUTIT (5) ran a big race last start in fast time for the grade behind Diamantina Daisy. He has never shown much gate speed and has looked unsuited when doing work in his races which is possibly the query in this race whether he can hold that early advantage on key rival Nite Irene. If he rolled to the lead he would become the one to beat.

THREEFIVEONE (1) got a long way back last time out and made up good ground late in what might be a decent form reference for this type of grade. She had put in a good run her start prior despite drawing wide and should be thereabouts in this race from a good draw.

LANEYS LAST (3) secured a good run last start in a moderate race and was good enough to run into second behind Tiger Shirl. She has a reasonably good draw this time and should be able to hold a prominent position in the early stages.

SELECTIONS: NITE IRENE (6), LETS TORQUEABOUTIT (5), THREEFIVEONE (1), LANEYS LAST (3)

SUGGESTED BET: NITE IRENE (6) to win.

RACE 7

THREEOEIGHT (5) led three starts ago in a much stronger race where he was a well beaten third but a similar effort in this race would likely see him very hard to beat. In lesser races previously he has shown the ability to do some work and should be able to press forward and be very hard to beat.

TENGERRI (4) was forced to sit without cover two starts ago in a very slowly run race and battled away well enough for second there. He is not an overly tough horse and generally needs a very soft run early to show his best which may see him shuffled back in the race and relying on some early tempo.

IM A RED HOT FOX (6) is still very much learning to race and hasn’t quite been able to put everything together. She took on a much stronger race last time out at Albion Park taken out by Full Of Charm where she ran quite well finishing fifth. A similar effort should see her competitive again despite the poor draw.

HAALAND (2) has shown ability while still having some tractability issues in his races. His effort when finishing fifth three runs ago was likely good enough to see him competitive in a race of this nature from a good draw.

SELECTIONS: THREEOEIGHT (5), TENGERRI (4), IM A RED HOT FOX (6), HAALAND (2)

SUGGESTED BET: THREEOEIGHT (5) to win.
