RACE 1

WELL SAID NUGGET (9) has been running on strongly in recent outings including last start when running on from last into third behind Mister Delwin in a race that became a dash home after slow early sections. He will be hoping there is some speed early which could allow him to be running into it late.

PRECOCIOUS KATE (8) secured a good run last start close to the speed and ran on nicely to nab second behind Bettys Gold Class. She has seemingly been better suited in recent times racing off the speed and saved for one run at them late which she should get the opportunity to do in this race from a soft trailing draw.

NAUTIE GALVINATOR (5) caught the eye last start when flashing into second late in what appeared to be a stronger race. He is right down in class on some of his better efforts and despite the wide draw should be very competitive in this race however its run.

RIGHTYO (2) was forced to race in an unfavourable position last start when left without cover over the 2040 distance. He forged to the lead early but was run down by two horses that had softer trips in the race. He should secure a softer run this time and can be thereabouts again.

SELECTIONS: WELL SAID NUGGET (9), PRECOCIOUS KATE (8), NAUTIE GALVINATOR (5), RIGHTYO (2)

SUGGESTED BET: PRECOCIOUS KATE (8) each way.

RACE 2

BLUE SUEDE ROCKA (4) has been taken back and held up at a crucial stage in his latest two outings. He comes into this race third up from a spell and should be nearing peak fitness. He has brilliant gate speed giving him options in the early stage of the race.

IDEAL ASSASSIN (2) has good high speed and good gate speed which sees her well suited from this good draw. She was well beaten at her latest outing at this track and was stood down following the race having had an issue. She returns here and looks to land a winnable race.

HES SWEET (1) has good gate speed and has options in the early stages of this race. He was able to sit in the breeze recently at this track and trip and just prove too good there. He went around in a heat of the UDC which was taken out by Sir Richard Lee on Saturday and looked under extreme pressure turning for home before rallying and running through the line nicely late.

GREAT WHITE (7) has been excellent since returning from a spell having won twice and run second last start. He impressed in his last start second behind Sir Richard Lee who rated fast time out in front and that horse was able to win a metro race on Saturday.

SELECTIONS: BLUE SUEDE ROCKA (4), IDEAL ASSASSIN (2), HES SWEET (1), GREAT WHITE (7)

SUGGESTED BET:

RACE 3

BEV THE GOAT (1) was able to lead and win at this track and trip when putting a margin on her rivals late three starts ago. She then started inside the back row before having less luck last start when checked at a crucial stage. If she can lead again she is likely to be very hard to beat.

KERBANG (8) put in an eye catching run on return last start when running on into third. He is likely to have derived benefit from the outing there and with a soft trailing draw in this race he should be running on strongly late.

AZOR AHAI (2) got shuffled back early last start after not showing much speed inside the back row. Once into the clear he finished off powerfully running into second and just nabbed by a horse that was able to secure a soft run in Barrett.

ROSIE POLLEN (3) led and won nicely last start when landing the good draw in gate 1. She appears unlikely to be able to get out in front again in this race but should still settle close enough from a good draw.

SELECTIONS: BEV THE GOAT (1), KERBANG (8), AZOR AHAI (2), ROSIE POLLEN (3)

SUGGESTED BET: BEV THE GOAT (1) to win.

RACE 4

IMPERIOUS (2) has good gate speed and should be able to work to the lead and from there in this grade looks very hard to beat. He was forced to work hard two starts ago and was only just run down. He should be hard to catch.

SKIPPER SWAN SONG (5) ran on strongly late last start to get into third at Albion Park after racing on the pegs. She was a dominant winner three starts ago when leading all the way at this track and should be thereabouts again in this race.

VERMONT (7) looks to have drawn awkwardly inside the back row. She ran on nicely last start to get into fourth at this track and a similar effort should see her competitive again in this race.

SPORTY AZZ (9) wasn’t suited the way the race was run and did well to run into third there. He is likely to get back again and should be running on late.

SELECTIONS: IMPERIOUS (2), SKIPPER SWAN SONG (5), VERMONT (7), SPORTY AZZ (9)

SUGGESTED BET: IMPERIOUS (2) to win.

RACE 5

TWEEDY (5) showed good gate speed to eventually work to the front over the 2040 at Redcliffe before being forced to run a 28.5 first quarter first quarter and an 1.58.2 mile rate. Those are flying times for this grade of horse. She draws outside of her two main rivals in this race but neither of those horses are noted gate speed horses and the rest of the horses drawn underneath her would likely take the trail.

CHERRIES ON TOP (3) has plenty of ability but is seemingly still learning to race doing a few things wrong at times. She was taken back early last start and was doing her best work through the line late. If she is taken back again in this race she should be running into it again.

SO MANY MOMENTS (4) ran second behind Impermissible last start at this track but did appear to have her chance to get past and just wasn’t quite able to do that. She doesn’t have gate speed and that may make things tricky for her given she generally races best up on speed.

ESTER JEAN (8) was running on late last start in a similar type of race taken out by Impermissible. She draws well to get a good run off the speed in this race and should be thereabouts late.

SELECTIONS: TWEEDY (5), CHERRIES ON TOP (3), SO MANY MOMENTS (4), ESTER JEAN (8)

SUGGESTED BET: TWEEDY (5) to win.

RACE 6

INSTANT DELIGHT (10) is a trotter taking on the pacers which is always a bit of a query but she looks awfully well placed in this race. She has been finding it tough off big handicaps recently but has shown in the past she has plenty of ability and is capable of coming off those handicaps.

TRACER BULLET (6) was able to score a well deserved win last start when finding the front after punching through off the back row. He has been racing well prior to that and despite the wide draw in this race he should still be hard to beat.

SPECIALANDIKNOWIT (9) got a long way back recently at Albion Park from a wide draw and just couldn’t get into the race there. A solid early tempo could suit him in this race and he should be running on strongly late.

SHADYS DELIGHT (7) starts inside the back row behind a horse unlikely to be favoured in this race which looks awkward and will mean he needs luck. He wasn’t favoured last start when getting back and coming wide in a very slowly run race.

SELECTIONS: INSTANT DELIGHT (10), TRACER BULLET (6), SPECIALANDIKNOWIT (9), SHADYS DELIGHT (7)

SUGGESTED BET: INSTANT DELIGHT (10) to win.

RACE 7

TIGER SHIRL (1) has very good gate speed and should be able to drive through and lead early in this race. She was very unlucky last start behind Impermissible when dragged right out of the race before hitting the line nicely. She should be hard to beat.

BRONX (9) comes into this race first up from a spell and should get a good run off the speed. He will be hoping for speed on at the start of the race and should be running on late.

TOUGH FIGHTER (7) was first up from a spell last start and seemingly didn’t go to his best there when well beaten. He should get a good run through on the back of Tiger Shirl and if he can go to his best he can bounce back.

PADDYS DIAMOND (6) was excellent last start when leading and winning by a margin. He draws poorly this time outside the front row but in a field without a huge amount of depth he still appears to have some each way claims.

SELECTIONS: TIGER SHIRL (1), BRONX (9), TOUGH FIGHTER (7), PADDYS DIAMOND (6)

SUGGESTED BET: TIGER SHIRL (1) to win.

RACE 8

WILPEKA (4) appeared to trial up nicely enough in a recent trial at Albion Park when finishing third there. She may be able to work forward early in this race and find a prominent position to hold the advantage on what may be her main rival in Photo Bomb.

PHOTO BOMB (7) was well supported starting an odds on favourite last start before making a break and potting himself out of play in a race taken out by Our Captain. He draws awkwardly inside the back row and will need to bring better manners to be a chance in this race.

ALWAYS CIRCLING (9) led last start and battled on strongly when beaten by Goodtime Dolly who had the perfect run on his back. He draws the back row this time which looks less favourable but is appears a race without a huge amount of depth and he should get every chance.

SIX SEVEN (6) didn’t beat a runner home last start but still seems to be learning to race and was widest on the track in the run home. Coming into this having his fourth start he might be better for the experience and can run a better race.

SELECTIONS: WILPEKA (4), PHOTO BOMB (7), ALWAYS CIRCLING (9), SIX SEVEN (6)

SUGGESTED BET: WILPEKA (4) to win.
