Form Analysis: Albion Park March 31

31 March 2026

RACE ONE

The 2YO maidens open the card where the Gemma Hewitt trained LA SAUVAGE (1) will make his race debut. By King Of Swing, the colt is a half to the five-time winner THE LADY DIOR. Doing everything right in a recent trial, he has the gate to be a factor first up.

BLING YOUR A GAME (6)
started fav here last week on debut when forced to sit parked and do the heavy lifting., Fighting on gamely to hold 2nd, the race day experience will be a good asset heading into his second start and despite the wide gate, can throw down a challenge.

YIPEE KIYAY (2)
was snookered in the run here last week when making his debut. Making an impression in the closing stages once the gap opened, he can be thereabouts here second up.

ROCKY HUNTER (7)
made good metres in the closing stages here last week on debut to grab the bronze when 2m astern of the winner. The added experience will assist his chances.

SELECTIONS: LA SAUVAGE (1), BLING YOUR A GAME (6), YIPEE KIYAY (2), ROCKY HUNTER (7)
SUGGESTED BET: LA SAUVAGE (1) to win

RACE TWO

Still chasing a victory to get underway for 2026, SITTING ON EIGHT (4) has placed in three of five visits to the track so far for the year. Starting an odds-on elect last week, he fired off the gate to find the front, but was out of tokens turning for home, fading to 3rd. This looks like his day.

QUICK SHAVE (2)
is a newcomer to Qld that joins the Turpin stable with a big hitting group of owners. Still a maiden after two starts in the deep south of NZ, a local trial hit out saw him do everything needed and from the gate he can challenge first up.

 DUKE OF ARGYLL (1)
was runner-up behind STRIPES here last week after trying to mount a late raid but never a threat. Unplace in three previous starts this term, the gate assists his claims.

SELECTIONS: SITTING ON EIGHT (4), QUICK SHAVE (2), DUKE OF ARGYLL (1)
SUGGESTED BET:
SITTING ON EIGHT (4) to win

RACE THREE

A tricky trot to dissect with many of the better chances all faced with the bigger handicaps. Runner-up in her past two, INSTANT DELIGHT (8) is close to a breakthrough and might just secure the right conditions to achieve it here. Chasing NELLIE JOY home in her past two starts, this looks within reach.

LOOK FOR TASCOTT (9)
was beaten by a wide gate under mobile conditions last start when retreating and then against the tempo could not get into the contest. Strong to the line behind NELLIE JOY for the bronze the start prior, he can look for a cart into this to issue a challenge.

FENOMENAL (11)
started from 20m last start and was quickly away and sent forward to find the front. Unable to stick on late and fading, that had followed successive 3rds, and he can chime in again.

IVANKA (4)
last started from this tape three starts back and was making a late raid to be just a half-head from the winner. Unplaced in two from the mobile since, she is right in the mix.

SELECTIONS: INSTANT DELIGHT (8), LOOK FOR TASCOTT (9). FENOMENAL (11), IVANKA (4)
SUGGESTED BET:
INSTANT DELIGHT (8) to win

RACE FOUR

Putting together a strong record since arriving in Qld, SASSY GALLEON (8) will go in search of a fourth successive victory, with the past three all from behind the start car. Pressing to the front last start, she fended off the challengers for a comfortable win and just needs space to add another.

NELLIE JOY (1)
is chasing a hat-trick after winning at the stand and mobile in her past two outings. A gritty effort last time when parked after rolling forward from gate 6, she descended on them in the closing stages the start prior for a tidy win. The gate is a huge plus here.

 IZZA PRINCE (3)
was asked to sit parked last time out and after the tough trip faded to be well beaten. A winner at his previous three in succession, he can get forward to feature.

CALL ME TROUBLE (7)
is never too far away when he can trot cleanly, something he did not do last start. Gunned down when setting the tempo the start prior, he is a podium hope.

SELECTIONS: SASSY GALLEON (8), NELLIE JOY (1), PIZZA PRINCE (3), CALL ME TROUBLE (7)
SUGGESTED BET:
SASSY GALLEON (8) to win

RACE FIVE

With the options as the lone runner on the second line, THE REAL ROCKETMAN (8) can look to bounce back into winning form. Scoring here four starts back when sent to the front and dictating, he has been well held in two of the three appearances since that win. He finds the right opposition to capitalise.

WESTERN ACTION (1)
has placed in four of his past six, the latest when taking cover at the middle trip here on Friday and grabbing the bronze behind the heavily supported BEAU STEELE. A gritty 3rd the start prior when parked, he has the early options to throw down a challenge.

WARRAWEE FLYER (6)
produced a sharper effort last start when sent around them from a second line gate at the 2138 and holding on for the silver behind SPORTS BOUNTY. A repeat of that effort can see her feature here.

PLAYFUL MISS (2)
takes her first look at The Creek after four Qld appearances have all been at Redcliffe. Placed in two of those, she has the gate to get handy here.

SELECTIONS: THE REAL ROCKETMAN (8), WESTERN ACTION (1), WARRAWEE FLYER (6), PLAYFUL MISS (2)
SUGGESTED BET:
Exotics 1-2-6-8

RACE SIX

Sent forward from gate 5 over this trip last time out, SPORTS BOUNTY (3) took control and from the front fended off the challengers to post a 10m margin. Beaten a head the start prior at the mile, he can be stoked up early again here and from the front look to rinse and repeat.

ROYAL PRINCESS (2)
found the 1x1 trail last time out and chased late for the bronze behind JUSTROLLINGAROUND. Unable to get war the start prior when eased from gate 6, she can settle closer from this gate and with a strong record at the middle trip can look to issue a challenge.

JUSTROLLINGAROUND (5)
eased last start at the mile before launching a late raid and finishing best to score a narrow victory. Positioning cheaply over the longer trip will be the key here.

FAVREAU (4)
was sent forward to sit parked last time out at the mile and was unable to go with them late when finishing 6m astern of the winner. 3rd at this trip the start prior, he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: SPORTS BOUNTY (3), ROYAL PRINCESS (2), JUSTROLLINGAROUND (5), FAVREAU (4)
SUGGESTED BET:
SPORTS BOUNTY (3) to win

RACE SEVEN

Too strong for the opposition last start when descending on them, MAJOR CRUNCH (5) has now been first past the post in three of four since arriving in Qld. Releasing the speed and holding on for silver two starts back in a 54.2 close out, he can post another W here.

SWEET DIOR (1)
should receive the perfect trip from this gate following her past two from gates 7 and 10. Working in the run last start after rolling forward from outside the front, the effort was strong behind ALWAYSBJOY. The improved gate can see her throw down the challenge.

GREAT ACHIEVER (9)
started from inside the second line last time out, was shuffled back, locked away and making some metres late behind CHEZZ DALE. He can be joining in.

MISTER REACTOR (6)
is given no favours from the wide gate but faced the same alley last start when making a late raid for the silver. Strong mid race pressure will assist his podium claims.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR CRUNCH (5), SWEET DIOR (1), GREAT ACHIEVER (9), MISTER REACTOR (6)
SUGGESTED BET:
MAJOR CRUNCH (5) to win

RACE EIGHT

Producing an impressive last start victory, OAKLEY SHARD (4) was working wide off the track to get forward to the chair and proved too strong with a PB mile. Catching the eye when first up for the new stable with a 3rd behind NITRATOR, she can force the issue here.

CAPTAIN NEMO (2)
was game in defeat last start when parked and working and holding on for the bronze behind MAJOR CRUNCH. A gritty winner three starts back when parked and gripping on for a narrow victory, he can be handy enough to issue a challenge here.

STUDLEIGH MARK (1)
eased for position last start and was searching for openings when under 5m from the winner BUDDY PERFECT. Placed his previous three, the gate is a huge plus here.

EDWARD JAY (3)
can be an improver here third up. Resuming from a wide gate when eased and trying to make ground against tempo, he wasn’t suited second up from the stand at Marburg.

SELECTIONS: OAKLEY SHARD (4), CAPTAIN NEMO (2), STUDLEIGH MARK (1), EDWARD JAY (3)
SUGGESTED BET:
OAKLEY SHARD (4) to win
