Form Analysis: Albion Park April 7

7 April 2026

RACE ONE

Small field of six, but this looks like a competitive contest where early mapping will be key. IAM HUGO (4) may draw to the outside of some good beginners, but there was enough in his 2YO season to suggest he will go on with it in 2026. Last seen in the Triad Final, he has trialed in good order.

 RUBY RHAYNE BOW (1)
draws to advantage and will be presented with the early options off the inside. Tackling the 2138 last start she was buried away before finding the line in good style for second behind MATTEO. With all the options, she looks to get every chance.

QUICK SHAVE (3) was first up for the new stable last week. Finding the front, he was out of tokens turning for home but fought hard to be just 2m from the winner DUKE OF ARGYLL. Added fitness assist his claims.

SELECTIONS: IAM HUGO (4), RUBY RHAYNE BOW (1), QUICK SHAVE (3)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE TWO

Tricky 2YO to line up with four debutants and some tidy trial performances amongst them. SOUL HUNTER (1) lands the plum marble for his first race appearance. A son of Huntsville out of the SOUL SISTER, off the back off his trial efforts, he looks up to capitalising first up.

 HUNT FOR GLORY (2)
is another Huntsville on debut, out of the producing mare, Joannes A Delight. From the Turpin stable, his trial form suggests that he will be primed to throw down a challenge first up.

 BLING YOUR A GAME (9)
brings the race experience, finishing runner-up in both career starts to date. Given no favours third time around from a second line draw, he still must be considered.

 LA SAUVAGE (8)
was sketchy in the early stages last week at his first race start and had to chase the start car. Following a horse here and with the chance for a soft trip, he can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: SOUL HUNTER (1), BLING YOUR A GAME (9), HUNT FOR GLORY (2), LA SAUVAGE (8)
 SUGGESTED BET:
SOUL HUNTER (1) to win

RACE THREE

OUR PETABILT (3) made a mess of things at the start when the tapes were released last time and was never a factor. Resuming the start prior under mobile conditions from gate 7 she chased home nicely for the bronze. Added fitness and the improved barrier, she finds conditions to open her 4YO account.

 IVANKA (1)
was safely away from 10m tape last start and after being exposed early, worked to the front. Trying to grip on lates, she held silver behind PHOEBE MAJESTIC. Back to the inside under mobile conditions, she secures the chance to challenge.

 YSMIR (8)
maps for the soft trip in behind the speed and will be searching for gaps in the latter stages. Not suited off a 30m tape last time, she can be chiming in here.

 LOOK FOR TASCOTT (4)
made an error last start which dented his claims when finishing out of the money behind PHOEBE MAJESTIC. Gate 7 stung over these conditions the start prior and the improved gate is a plus.

SELECTIONS: OUR PETABILT (3), IVANKA (1), YSMIR (8), LOOK FOR TASCOTT (4)
 SUGGESTED BET:
OUR PETABILT (3) to win

RACE FOUR

INSTANT DELIGHT (9) should be able to follow through in the early stages to find a good position in the running line for this assignment. A beaten fav last start when faced with a 30m impost, the return to mobile conditions should be suitable. Chasing a drought breaking win, can the victory rain arrive?

 FLASH KYVALLEY (7)
made an error when the tapes released last start. Regathering from the 30m tape and chasing, he was strong to the line for the bronze. Despite the wide gate under mobile conditions this time, he has good early hustle and is at his best from behind the start car.

 LAYDOWNLUNA (3)
should benefit from her first up outing when resuming for the 4YO term. Working forward to sit parked form a 20m tape before fading late, she finds mobile conditions, is a good beginner that can press forward early.

 FENOMENAL (8)
worked forward to sit parked last start and after the tough trip faded late. In need of some luck from the mobile conditions and this alley, any gaps can see him feature.

SELECTIONS: INSTANT DELIGHT (9), FLASH KYVALLEY (7), LAYDOWNLUNA (3), FENOMENAL (8)
 SUGGESTED BET:
INSTANT DELIGHT (9) to win

RACE FIVE

A number of these runners come out of the same race last start. WESTERN ACTION (1) drew this same gate and was best of the chasing pack for 2nd behind WARRAWEE FLYER. Placed in both prior starts, he can be tucked in behind the speed here and look to land the closing shot.

PLAYFUL MISS (2) started from this same gate in the same WARRAWEE FLYER reference when leading early before opting for the trail. Holding on for the bronze, she maps for a similar scenario and will be attempting to issue the challenge.

 MISTER DELWIN (5)
sat parked last start from gate 5 in a lesser race and after the tough trip was able to hold on for the bronze. Runner-up the start prior at Redcliffe, he has place claims again.

 THE REAL ROCKETMAN (6)
is another that comes out of the WARRAWEE FLYER race when drawn inside the second line and chasing forlornly. Despite the wide gate, he is a podium hope.

 SELECTIONS:
WESTERN ACTION (1), MISTER DELWIN (5), PLAYFUL MISS (2), THE REAL ROCKETMAN (6)
 SUGGESTED BET:
Exotics 1-2-5-6

RACE SIX

This race will likely be dominated by the four high quality 3YO’s lining up in what looks set to be run at slick tempo. ALWAYSBJOY (3) made it three on the bounce last start when fresh up and dictating in a sizzling 1.50.6 mile from the front. With that time just 0.1 outside the 3YO fillies class record, if she can dictate near that same time, it will be a task for the chasers.

 NITRATOR (4)
franked a strong trial performance with a smart first up victory in strong time when posting a 6m margin. Working forward from a wide gate last start to find the trail behind ALWAYSBJOY, he chased but could not reel her in when holding 2nd. Limiting the burn will be key.

 STRIPES (8)
resumed with a strong victory after working in the run and claiming a narrow margin. The form has been franked with the runner-up scoring since and with Pete McMullen opting for this filly, must be watched.

 FITZROY (5)
returned from a spell with a gritty 3rd behind FIRE AND PASSION after working in the run and not finishing too far off them. Franking that with a smart second up win, where he maps is a query.

SELECTIONS: ALWAYSBJOY (3), NITRATOR (4), STRIPES (8), FITZROY (5)
 SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

Frist up in Qld for the new stable last time out, I OF THE HURRIKANE (9) was well supported despite a wide gate at the mile. Sent forward and forcing her way to the front, she was gripping on but could not hold the nose out in the last stride. Fitter for that, she can capitalise second up.

 THE LADY DIOR (5)
dictated over this trip for victory in early December and was then taken south for two starts. Beaten by a wide gate in both NSW outings, she returns here to make her first 4YO appearance and despite a wide gate, can get forward to challenge.

 CAPTAIN NEMO (4)
was a winner at the mile four starts back and finished in 3rd at his past two. Only beaten a half-neck last time, he can be handy enough to chime in once again.

 DUAL CAM (2)
was first up for the new stable last start when angled to the poles and chasing for the bronze behind the clear out winner MISS FROUFROU. Settling handy he can feature.

SELECTIONS: I OF THE HURRIKANE (9), THE LADY DIOR (5), CAPTAIN NEMO (4), DUAL CAM (2)
 SUGGESTED BET:
I OF THE HURRIKANE (9) to win

RACE EIGHT

Another strong contest in this NR75 heat, where BELLISIMO ACQUISTO (5) will chase another final appearance after finishing 4th in the March edition of these popular events. Grabbed in the last stride when sent forward off this same gate two starts back in sizzling time, he will stake a claim again.

 THE RASCAL (2)
will strip fitter following his last start when resuming from a break. Sent out deep into the red despite a tricky gate, he found the running line but could only hold 3rd when well beaten at 2138. With early speed, he can be handy to the action and should appreciate a return to the mile.

 STRIKEM (7)
worked forward to find the front before releasing the classy FATE AWAITS and holding on for the silver. Buried from inside the second line the start prior, the wide gate dents his claims.

 MAJOR CRUNCH (1)
was forced to do the heavy lifting outside the leader last time out and faded to the tail. Only 8m from the winner, he powered home from deep field to score the start prior and is assisted from the inside gate here.

SELECTIONS: BELLISIMO ACQUISTO (5), THE RASCAL (2), STRIKEM (7), MAJOR CRUNCH (1)
 SUGGESTED BET:
BELLISIMO ACQUISTO (5) to win

RACE NINE

Placed in six of eight for the season, IMANI (8) will be looking to go one better and get on the board for 2026 after finishing as the bridesmaid at her past two. Wide off the track chasing BRIAN CHRISTOPHER last start, she was just a half-neck away the start prior and will be stalking the speed.

 WARRAWEE FLYER (1)
produced a gritty 2nd to put the writing on the wall that she was not far off another victory. Despite gate 6 last time out, she franked the previous start, pressing to the front and pulling clear for a big margin in PB time. From the gate, she will throw it down.

 SII SEMPRE TILLY (2)
started from the inside gate in a mare’s qualifier last start and was left chasing as the flying ILOVEACALNDARGIRL dictated. Settling near the action from this gate, she has claims.

 SPORTS BOUNTY (4)
will be chasing a hat-trick of wins after successive 2138 victories in his past two. Pressing to the front and controlling the tempo in both, he can feature again here.

SELECTIONS: IMANI (8), WARRAWEE FLYER (1), SII SEMPRE TILLY (2), SPORTS BOUNTY (4)
 SUGGESTED BET:
IMANI (8) to win
