Form Analysis: Marburg April 5

RACE 1 

DENIS THE PUNTER (2) trialled nicely recently when leading at Redcliffe. He has previously shown good gate speed in races and could be able to work to the lead. He should be hard to catch. 

BETTOR BE BODHI (5) comes into this race first up from a spell. The stable has been in good form in recent months and this horse should be close enough to fitness to run a good race on return. He has gate speed and should be close enough in the run.

TORI TIME (1) debuts in this race having trialled up fairly. She is a half-sister to Hunger Strike a mare which continues to show good ability now racing in WA. She draws well in this race and with plenty of trial experience she should be ready to run well on debut. 

VICE CHAIRWOMAN (3) did things wrong on debut in QLD. She did show good gate speed there before handing over and appearing to race quite roughly at stages. She draws well again and should be close enough in the run.

RACE 2 

SATURDAY DANCE (6) sat without cover three starts ago at Marburg and proved too good there rating good time for restricted win company. She has since taken on stronger race and is likely to appreciate the drop in grade. She draws to follow out a horse with gate speed and should be hard to hold out.

WEE BONNIE (1) has gate speed and may elect to drive through and hold the lead in this race. She ran well enough in a much stronger race last start to finish sixth behind Real Miki in fast time for this type of grade at Redcliffe. 

LANEYS LAST (2) finished close up two starts ago when secure a good run 1 out 1 back and running on into third behind Lets Torqueaboutit. She should secure a similar type of run in this race from a good draw and should be thereabouts. 

WATCH YOUR BACK (8) showed gate speed last start to find the lead and ran a much better race there when second to Rosies Boy. He may have turned a corner there and racing in similar company could run another good race.

RACE 3

TWOSIPSALLY (1) comes into this race first up from a spell and has also changed trainers. She should have the speed to lead in this race having previously shown good gate speed and if she leads and is somewhere near fully fit she should take plenty of catching. 

ROSIES BOY (4) impressed last start when securing the perfect run leaders back and proving far too good when racing away late for a big win. He draws the front row here and may have a more difficult task finding the lead this time. He should run well again. 

THE BLACK FOX (6) ran well enough last start when finishing fourth at Albion Park behind Rosies Boy having perhaps come off the pegs a touch too soon to challenge. He has been much improved in recent starts and looks to find a good opportunity to run well again. 

TIGER ATTACK (2) has very modest numerical form an off his numerical form he is hard to recommend. He comes into this race first up and at his best he is a capable sit sprinter.

RACE 4 

KEAYANG TARA (9) draws poorly in this race but does really standout from a class perspective. She secured a good run at this track two starts ago and ran well to finish third behind Lulu Lucifer. She will need the speed on to bring her into the race. 

CONVAIR HUSTLER (3) raced without cover last start and battled on well to finish a close up sixth behind Copy Writer at Albion Park. He should be able to get forward in this race and find a prominent position and should be hard to beat from there. 

SPORTY AZZ (4) was forced to sit without cover this track recently when finishing second. He is likely to be forced to do work again in this race but off his latest start he looks capable. 

TAPTHEKEG (1) has good gate speed and looks the potential early leader in the race before having options. Given the race is likely to generate a solid tempo throughout he may be best served taking a sit.

RACE 5

SHADYS DELIGHT (1) has the gate speed to lead in this race which should see him given every chance out in front in this race. He ran well enough last time out when finishing fourth behind Amillionchances last time out. 

MALIBU DREAM (7) ran on strongly into second last time out behind Amillionchances. She is likely to be driven quietly early and will be relying on a solid tempo to bring her into the race. She should be running on well late. 

VODKA EN ICE (4) was sat up and saved for one run four starts ago and proved too good there when running over the top late. He is generally a horse that does his best work when able to lead but may find that tricky from an awkward draw. 

YOGI (6) was a winner when leading all the way at Redcliffe five starts ago and has since not been too far away in his races. He is a horse that seemingly needs a few things to his way in his races but may get the right run this time.

RACE 6 

QUEEN LILIBET (10) faces a big 30 metre handicap in this race which looks a big ask. She has been racing in excellent form and ran another good race last time out when running on late into third. She will need to begin safely this time and should be hard to beat if she does. 

B MAC C (7) looks the best served as far as handicaps go coming off just 10 metres. He has recaptured some of his better form running a very good second three starts ago from the stand start behind One Last Roll which following a good win at Albion Park. 

BEAU STEELE (1) has performed well previously from the stand start at this track and draws best in this race. He was able to score a good all the way victory last start at Albion Park over the 2138.

MAJOR SLIP UP (4) trialled reasonably from the stand start recently when finishing second to classy mare Cool And Classy. He is a horse that generally races well up on speed and if he can find a forward position in this race should run well.

SUGGESTED BET: B MAC C (7) to win.

RACE 7

SPLASHNDASH (1) has good early speed and should be able to drive through and lead in this race. He was able to score a nice win coming from the off the speed last start at Albion Park when the race was run to suit. He looks hard to beat. 

SHES IN LINE (6) should get a good run through on the back of Splashndash who’s a gate speed horse. She drew well last start before racing without a great deal of luck at Albion Park when shuffled back early. She should be thereabouts.

BUBBA NAY (7) three starts ago was able to score a nice win at Albion Park rating good time. He has raced well at Redcliffe before suggesting he should be able to get around the small circuit at Marburg. 

STUDLEIGH ANNE (3) was able to lead and win two starts ago at this track rating good time. She had good gate speed and should be able to find a forward position in this race from a good draw.

SUGGESTED BET: SPLASHNDASH (1) to win.

RACE 8

JEKAMIAS (6) set a track record time at this track when stepping to the lead early and taking them all the way. He will have a tougher time finding the lead again off a handicap in a big field but should run well if he’s close enough in the run.

MARTIN MAGIC (8) was forced to sit without cover in a race they equalled the stand start track record at Marburg. He will likely be looking for a more economical run this time and can look to use his speed late to get over the top. 

TILLY JAYNE (10) stepped moderately last start and settled near the rear of the field in the early stages last time out. She was saved up for one run late where she flashed and just missed nabbing Getagrip on the line. She may be suited racing off a strong tempo in this race and can be running on late. 

MERGE RIGHT (3) draws the best of the main chances in this race and can look to press onto the lead before having options from there. She was able to win one of the weaker heats of the series last start when taking them most of the way.

SUGGESTED BET: MERGE RIGHT (3) each way.

RACE 9

LULU LUCIFER (1) impressed at Marburg two starts ago when working around to the breeze and proving far too good for Ideal Tiger rating good time for the grade. She draws favourably in this race and has good gate speed. She should be able to lead and should be hard to beat.

JO ROCKS (6) should get a good run through on the back of Lulu Lucifer in this race. She hasn’t been at her best in recent outings but does draw better than she has recently and should get very chance to turn her numerical form around.

SHEREACTS (7) ran much better two starts ago when securing an economical run on the pegs and finishing off well into second behind Studleigh Anne. She should secure a similar type of run in this race and will just be hoping for the speed to be on early to bring her into the race. 

SAN SABA (2) had very little luck when racing at Marburg recently starting inside the back row and never getting a clear run at them late.
