Form Analysis: Redcliffe April 15

RACE 1 

TOMMY BLIGH (5) led and over raced last start. He rated good time there for the grade. He has good gate speed and should land right up on speed. He appears the class runner in the field. 

MAJOR MISCHIEF (4) secured a good run last start in a race taken out by Western Action and wasn’t beaten far in fast time for the grade. He should able able to work forward and looks hard to beat off his latest outing.

LAST CALL (2) has good gate speed and should be able to hold a prominent position early. There is a slight query whether he can hold out the likes of Rollonx and Tommy Bligh but with a potential stagger having a number of runners go forward she may get her chances to drive through and hold the lead. 

ROLLONX (3) won a recent trial at this track rating just moderate time there. He was able to win a race three starts ago when coming from off the speed at this track. He has good gate speed and should be able to find a prominent position.

RACE 2 

CONNIES SPIRIT (2) has brilliant gate speed and looks ideally suited to the Trot Rods format. She might be able to zip across in the early stages and if she can lead them up she is likely to be very hard to run down given how well she has been racing.

MULLUM BOY (1) elected to hand over the lead last start and ran a good third behind Captain Oh Captain. He steps back to the Trot Rod distance this time and may elect to hold the lead if he can. He looks one of the hardest to beat.

MAJOR LINCOLN (4) given his lack of gate speed he doesn’t immediately seem ideally suited to this format of racing. In saying that he does look particularly well graded in this race and if he can work into it and find a position up on speed he could run well.

MADAME WEST (5) drops right back in grade into this race having seemingly not been at her absolute best in recent times. She is a capable sit sprinter and if they go too hard she can be running on late.

RACE 3

SMARTER THAN YOU (5) has been racing in very good form in recent starts taking on strong company. He drops right back in grade into this race and can likely be driven a number of ways. He looks hard to beat.

KERBANG (7) should get a good run through on the back of a gate speed horse. He is likely to need luck at some stage to get away from the inside and if he does he can figure.

REAL TIN TIN (3) usually races well when sat up and saved for one run. He should get that opportunity in this race from a good draw. He drew poorly last start and got a long way back in a race taken out by Canadian Lass. 

ROCK NIEN (1) has good gate speed giving him options early. He wasn’t beaten far last start when finishing third behind Majorita Jujon.

RACE 4 

PENNIE PACKER (1) has good gate speed and should be able to lead early. She led three starts ago and ran well there over the 2040 to finish 3.5 metres off So Many Moments. Stepping back to the 1780 she can lead and be hard to run down.

WAR CLUB (7) should get a good run through on the back of Pennie Packer in this race. He got a long way back last start in a race taken out by the leader Beer Money. He should be hard to hold out.

LITTLE HOOFANANNY (8) has been racing in good form in recent starts having won four starts ago before placing three times. Her latest placing came when finishing second to Punters Jewel who has been in terrific form.

ASHLEE NITRO (2) has been racing very well and was able to score another impressive win when sitting leaders back recently at this track and proving too good. She should secure a good run from this draw and can run well again.

RACE 5

MIKI MOO (5) has impressed since landing in QLD scoring wins in her latest two starts and will be looking to make it a hat-trick in this race. She did plenty of work two starts ago before eventually leading and was an impressive winner there. She should be able to work to the lead and can be hard to beat again.

MATTEO (8) took on a strong race last time out which was won by Alwaysbjoy in fast time. She had been very impressive prior to that scoring a hat-trick of wins rating good times in those races. If she is forced to sit outside of Miki Moo she will need to be just as good to win.

LETSTORQUEABOUTIT (1) has shown previously he is capable of following speed on the pegs having rated good time in defeat when following. He may be able to drive through and lead before handing over to a horse like Miki Moo. 

NEEDAREASON (9) ran well again last start to continue her very good run of form this campaign. She was able to find the leaders back there from gate 6 and may not have the same favours this time.

RACE 6 

GOODOLDBOYSANDBEER (3) starts first up for new trainer Jack Chapple. He was a horse that previously in QLD loved racing at this trip and was capable of running good time up on speed. Jack Chapple had good success recently when training Dual Cam. 

DIPPED IN SILVER (5) should get a good run off the speed in this race and enjoys racing at the 2040 journey. He has been racing without a huge amount of luck and should find this race a bit easier. 

DOO DON’T THINK (1) has some gate speed and a good draw in this race giving him options early. He is a horse that with the right type of run in this race could be dangerous late. 

SHEEZ GOT TORQUE (6) has run well in two starts since returning from a spell. She caused a false start last time out and as result finds herself ODM in this race.

RACE 7

DESIGNER JEWEL (2) has very good early speed and should have the speed to lead early. She trialled up quite well when rating good time winning a recent trial. She is not known to be an overly tough horse but does appear as though she can get things easy enough to win in this race. 

RALLY AROUND (7) draws awkwardly inside the back row following out a horse that Is unlikely to be fancied in the race. He looks the class runner of the field and if he can work off the inside at the right time he should be hard to beat. He trialled well recently winning a trial at this track.

PRESCOTT (5) got a long way back last start and was running on well late behind impressive winner Mister Freeman. He should get a good run off the speed and if the speed is on early he should be running on.

WILPEKA (9) was sent around a short priced favourite last start and could only manage fourth there. She has high speed but does seemingly need things to go her way to figure in races.

SUGGESTED BET: DESIGNER JEWEL (2) to win. 

RACE 8

SHAKE (2) ran well behind Designer Jewel in a recent trial where the winner rated decent time for a race of this nature. If she can work to the lead she would prove very hard to beat.

MAGYVA (1) is a horse that’s always shown ability and hasn’t quite been able to put it all together in his races. He ran a good race with a similar run to the one he is likely to get in this running second to Eternal Bliss last prep. He should be fitter following his first up run.

HEAD RUSH (8) ran quite well at Bathurst when finishing fifth behind Revvin Reynard. He has shown ability between doing a few things wrong in his races. He should be thereabouts in this race if he can do everything right.

STRAWBERRIESNCREAM (6) finished midfield on debut after getting back in the run. She showed ability at trials and having benefited from her first race start she can run well.

SUGGESTED BET: SHAKE (2) to win. 

RACE 9

TRACER BULLET (1) has been out of form in recent outings. He was pulled into the clear last start and didn’t run on there finishing eighth. He has always been a horse best suited to leading in his races and gets that opportunity here from an ideal draw. 

MAGIC NITRO (7) should get a good run through behind Tracer Bullet who generally likes to hold a forward position in his races. She was shuffled back last start and ran on late into fourth. She should get every chance. 

BOKHARI (3) secured a good run when first up from a spell last start racing 3 back on the pegs in a race taken out by Sunny Cove. She should get a good run in this race close enough to the speed and having derived benefit from her first up outing should be thereabouts. 

ROYAL WINKLE (4) was taken back early last start and was held up for clear running at a crucial stage of the race. He is likely to get back again and if the tempo suits he should be running on well.
