Central Queensland Amateur Racing Club meeting update

4 May 2026

Racing Queensland has confirmed that it will instigate a full independent investigation into the Central Queensland Amateur Racing Club meeting postponement.

On Sunday, the CQARC meeting – headlined by the $1 million The Archer – was postponed by Queensland Racing Integrity Commission officials due to inconsistencies in the racing surface.

As a result, the meeting was transferred to Tuesday, May 5. The first race is set to commence at 12.20pm and will be broadcast on Sky Racing 1.

RQ will provide support to the club over the coming days to ensure the surface is suitable for racing on Tuesday.

The CQARC, the RJC and RQ will share the costs associated for jockeys and trainers to return to Rockhampton for the rescheduled meeting.

Pleasingly, interstate hoops Nash Rawiller, Tommy Berry and Daniel Stackhouse have all indicated that they will ride at the meeting on Tuesday.
