Central Queensland Amateur Racing Club meeting update – May 5
Racing Queensland wishes to provide an update on this afternoon’s re-scheduled Central Queensland Amateur Racing Club race meeting at Callaghan Park.
Following Sunday's postponement, subsequent inspections of the track by officials on Monday afternoon and this morning have determined the surface suitable for racing.
A collective decision between the RJC and RQ was also made to apply 4.5mm of irrigation to the entire track on Monday afternoon, with exception to the affected areas that caused Sunday's postponement.
On Monday afternoon, trainer Jim Mason advised that his runner Street Chase will be scratched from running in the $1 million The Archer.
Under the race and slot holder conditions, if a runner is scratched prior to 7.30am on raceday without a veterinary certificate approved by QRIC, then connections will not be entitled to select an emergency and will receive last place prize money.
