Form Analysis: Albion Park May 7

7 May 2026

RACE ONE

A mixed maiden with four 2YO’s, one of those being BETTOR ONE (5) which can look to improve off a Redcliffe debut where he was just a half-neck from the winner. Sent around from outside the second line to sit parked, he was strong to the wire in holding 2nd behind the 3YO MISS MUNCH.

 SHINE LIKE ME (1)
was well supported on debut from gate 5. Settling in the running line, she was out of contention when making an error turning for home. An improved gate off the back of some tidy trial efforts, she can turn it around second up.

 SWEET TIMES (6)
is a Sweet Lou gelding on debut for the Turpin barn. Out of the 11-win mare Striking Beauty, this is a deep pedigree page and with a tidy qualifying trial, he stays in the mix.

SELECTIONS: BETTOR ONE (5), SHINE LIKE ME (1), SWEET TIMES (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE TWO

Well placed from the 10m tape here and with good starting manners, CROOKWELL EYES (3) should find a forward position in the early stages. Midfield at his past two starts, the latest when buried away when the field found position, he can be closer here to stake claim.

 IGNITE (6)
found the pocket trail last start but could not go on with it in the closing stages to miss the podium after four successive second place finishes. With one win and eight minors for the term, there looks a lack of front runners here and his manners will see him throw it down.

 ITZ TRIXTON TIME (9)
was trying to make a late raid here last time out when grabbing the bronze behind SQUAMISH. Yet to find a W in 15 appearances on this deck, he can be thereabouts.

 VOLTAIN (10)
has placed at her past three in succession, the latest from the 10m tape when best of the chaser behind SQUAMISH. Under 3m from SOUTHERN DIAMOND the start prior, she is a podium player.

SELECTIONS:
CROOKWELL EYES (3), IGNITE (6), ITZ TRIXTON TIME (9), VOLTAIN (10)
 SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

TILLY DUNNAGE (8) is the latest horse following the tried and tested formula of joining the Turpin stable out of the deep south of NZ. This 5YO mare arrives a one-win pacer, yet showed huge potential in a trial on April 7 with a 54.6 closing half and can continue a winning blueprint.

 MISS MUNCH (3)
delivered the breakthrough last time out when fired off the arm from the inside gate to take them all the way over the 1780 on The Triangle. Building to that after placings in two of her previous three starts, she can get forward in the early stages to challenge.

 TONJAY (4)
had trialed in good order in readiness for a debut and delivered with a maiden breaking win first up at Redcliffe. With added experience, he has podium claims second up.

 PICCOLO DIAVOLO (6)
broke maiden ranks at Redcliffe three starts back to close out his 2YO term. Sent for a break and returning with successive placings, he can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: TILLY DUNNAGE (8), MISS MUNCH (3), TONJAY (4), PICCOLO DIAVOLO (6)
 SUGGESTED BET:
TILLY DUNNAGE (8) to win

RACE FOUR

The Turpin stable have a strong hold on this race with four runners where DUKE OF ARGYLL (5) can look to continue his recent form. Scoring a strong win from the front at the mile two starts back, he was grabbed in the last strides by THE LADY DIOR last time. Back to the mile is ideal.

 PASSCHENDAELE (7)
arrives at the powerful Turpin stable, a three-time winner from NZ. Fresh up from a break for his first Aus appearance, he was unbothered in a recent preparatory trial, sitting in the running line before moving around them. The gate and fitness are the query.

KASH FUND (4) resumed from a spell to start his 3YO term with a tidy win at the mile when arriving in the latter stages from a second line gate. Beaten a neck last start at 2138, he is right in the fight.

 HIGHNMIGHTY (2)
should appreciate an improved gate after wide alleys have stung in recent outings. Under 3m from the winner LEOTA last time, she is a podium chance here.

SELECTIONS: DUKE OF ARGYLL (5), PASSCHENDAELE (7), KASH FUND (4), HIGHNMIGHTY (2)
 SUGGESTED BET:
DUKE OF ARGYLL (5) to win

RACE FIVE

An even contest presents here where there appears to be several chances. BETTOR CHEER (6) started from the pole last start at Redcliffe and was soon shuffled three back before grabbing the bronze behind RIBEIRO. Despite the gate, this looks like an easier assignment.

 BEEJAYS STAR (10)
should derive benefit from her last start where she was resuming from a spell at her first Qld appearance. Exposed early before receiving cover, she made some late metres for the bronze when under 4m from the winner. The gate hurts, but tempo will help.

 AUNTY FRANCES (2)
has early hustle and from this gate can look to chase a spot up near the speed. A gritty 2nd last start at Marburg when parked, she has podium claims.

 ONE CHAIN ROAD (9)
was building towards a win after successive placings and delivered it in a 947m Trot Rods scamper. Grabbed last start by PRINCESS ARNA, he can be thereabouts here.

SELECTIONS: BETTOR CHEER (6), BEEJAYS STAR (10), AUNTY FRANCES (2), ONE CHAIN ROAD (9)
 SUGGESTED BET:
BETTOR CHEER (6) to win

RACE SIX

Chasing what is proving to be an elusive 2026 victory, FRANCO MACHO (5) has been runner-up in five of his 11 appearances this season, the latest when setting the speed from gate 1 but grabbed near the wire by HEAVENS BADGIRL. With the speed off the arm, this might be the day.

 ARKUNA (1)
will appreciate a return to the front line after facing second line barriers at her past three in succession. Trying to make ground wide off the track last start as PRINCESS ARMA arrived, a soft trip in behind the speed can see her issue the challenge in this.

 LLANFAIR LLEWELLAN (10)
was asked to work in the run last time out and was not too far from the winner HEAVENS BADGIRL. With the right cart into the contest, he has claims.

 MY ULTIMATE COSSIE (8)
will be searching for the gaps as he looks set to be buried in the run from this alley. Working outside the leader two starts back, he can grab a minor here.

SELECTIONS: FRANCO MACHO (5), ARKUNA (1), LLANFAIR LLEWELLAN (10), MY ULTIMATE COSSIE (8)
 SUGGESTED BET:
FRANCO MACHO (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

Following two runs back from a break, COSMIC FLYER (10) might just have found the right conditions for a breakthrough. Hitting the line in nice order when returning at the mile, he was faced with the outside gate at Redcliffe last time out. The big deck and 2138 are in his favour.

 ROSTOVA (3)
was an impressive winner first up for the new stable when making a sustained run to arrive at this trip. Not suited second up when wide at the mile, she was the best of the chasers behind SCRUFFY last start after being buried. Limiting the burn can see her challenge.

 HARPERVILLE (6)
has hit the board at her past three, including a Redcliffe win two starts back when grinding out a tough win. Under 2m from the winner last start, the gate stings.

 BUBBA NAY (2)
has good speed out of the machine and from this gate can look to get handy to the action. Placed at her past two, the latest when 2m astern, she has podium claims again.

SELECTIONS: COSMIC FLYER (10), ROSTOVA (3), HARPERVILLE (6), BUBBA NAY (2)
 SUGGESTED BET:
COSMIC FLYER (10) win/place

RACE EIGHT

Faced with gate 7 last start at 2138, CHEZZ DALE (6) was keen when moving forward to sit parked and was trying to stick on when missing the minors in a 5m deficit to COMMODORE JUJON. A winner at the mile when leading here three back, he can press ahead to capitalise.

 THE LADY DIOR (2)
was second up from a break last time out when eased early from gate 6 before attacking the line strongly to arrive in the closing strides. A tidy 2nd when resuming from outside the second line, she is a talented mare and from the gate can issue the challenge.

 MY ULTIMATE BUDDHA (1)
started from this same gate last time at 2138 when releasing for the trail and holding on for the bronze. With four of this field coming through the same race, the gate assists his chances of repeating.

 EYE SEE THESEASIDE (4)
was exposed early before finding the 1x1 trail and trying to make a late play in grabbing 2nd behind COMMODORE JUJON. Settling handy again here can see her feature.

SELECTIONS: CHEZZ DALE (6), THE LADY DIOR (2), MY ULTIMATE BUDDHA (1), EYE SEE THESEASIDE (4)
 SUGGESTED BET:
CHEZZ DALE (6) to win

RACE NINE

A winner four starts back when starting deep into the red, VICTREE CHARLIE (6) has proven costly to his supporters in the three runs since where he has had to settle for the silver in each. 2m from the winner at the past two, he finds conditions to be again the one they have to beat.

 ALSROKSTAR (3)
is a slick beginner and from this alley can look to fire the early shots. Sent to the front last time at Redcliffe, he was fighting late in holding on for the bronze when 2m from the winner DENIS THE PUNTER. From the front he will be gripping on.

 CHARMAWAY (1)
is a one-win mare and should appreciate a return to this grade after tackling a stronger race last start when holding 4th from this same gate. She has podium claims this time.

 PINKCHAMPAGNE (7)
will benefit from the last start where she was resuming from a spell. Striking trouble at that last outing, the gate does her no favours here.

SELECTIONS: VICTREE CHARLIE (6), ALSROKSTAR (3), CHARMAWAY (1), PINKCHAMPAGNE (7)
 SUGGESTED BET:
