Form Analysis: Albion Park May 9

9 May 2026

RACE ONE

At his best when saved for a closing shot, CONGO LINE (8) finds the ideal conditions here where he should be camped on the leaders back. Game in holding 3rd behind ELLIS STREET last start, he is effective on the passing lane and will be stalking awaiting his shot.

 EXCLUSIVE HUSTLER (1)
was a big winner at the mile three starts back when sitting parked and proving too big and too strong with the first over win in slick time. It has not gone to script at the past two starts and with the gate advantage and booking of Leader Peter, expect a big mile.

 BIRKIRKARA (10)
resumes from a spell after emerging as a serious horse last season. Rounding out his year in the Blacks A Fake, he was sharp in a recent trial and can feature fresh.

 CALL TO ORDER (9)
tried to take them all the way last week when sent out in red figures but could not fend them off at the middle trip. Dropping to the fence will be beneficial to his hopes.

SELECTIONS: CONGO LINE (8), EXCLUSIVE HUSTLER (1), BIRKIRKARA (10), CALL TO ORDER (9)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-8-9-10

RACE TWO

It’s been a stop-start season to date for FRENCH FRIES (6) who will step out for just the fourth time. Runner-up to TYSON in a midweek standing start when last seen back in March, he produced a sharp last 800 in a recent trial. Despite the awkward alley first up, he has the class.

 BIGGER THE BETTOR (1)
is enjoying a great run of barriers and secures the ace once again. A winner at the middle trip from this alley five runs back, he has placed in two of the past three starts when sitting in the trail on each occasion. With that same map again, he can challenge.

 BASILISK BOB (5)
chased from the fence for the bronze behind PATH TO GREATNESS here three starts back and followed that with a win a PB win at the mile. From a tricky gate he can feature.

 TARGARYEN (8)
was shuffled to three back from this same gate last week and finished 1m from the winner BUDDY PERFECT. A similar map can produce a similar result in this.

SELECTIONS:
FRENCH FRIES (6), BIGGER THE BETTOR (1), BASILISK BOB (5), TARGARYEN (8)
 SUGGESTED BET:
FRENCH FRIES (6) to win

RACE THREE

An open looking contest on offer where third up since a barn switch, DOUGS FLAME (2) can look to capitalise. Exposed in the early stages in a sizzling opening panel before receiving cover at the bell, he battled on fairly. With the chance to position cheaply, he can capitalise.

 SIR RICHARD LEE (8)
forced the issue last time out at Redcliffe and worked to the front and kept them chasing when posting a 12m margin in quick time over 1780. Not suited here two starts back when forced to park, he can be tucked away and with a soft trip issue a challenge.

 APPLIED (1)
was supported to run in red figures here last week but after a tough trip finished near the rear. Under 4m from the winner CHARGE AHEAD two back, he has the gate to feature.

 COMMODORE JUJON (5)
is chasing a hat-trick of victories after winning at Redcliffe and a midweek effort over this same trip. With the versatility and appreciation of 2138, he has claims.

SELECTIONS: DOUGS FLAME (2), SIR RICHARD LEE (8), APPLIED (1), COMMODORE JUJON (5)
 SUGGESTED BET:
DOUGS FLAME (2) to win

RACE FOUR

Midfield at his past two starts from poor barriers, MAJOR CRUNCH (3) finds the right gate and opposition to bounce back into winning form. Beaten a head when setting the tempo three starts back, the past two have been chasing MEGS BOY.

 SMARTER THAN YOU (5)
held the pocket trail from inside the second line at Redcliffe last time out and when the lane presented darted through to score. Wide off the track and running on late in both prior outings, positioning cheaply can see him issue a challenge here.

 ARKIN WICKED (1)
was beaten by gate 7 last start when retreating. He finds his best barrier in mobile start events for some time and with the mapping benefits looms as a podium hope.

 PUNTERS JEWEL (9)
eased from a wide gate two starts back and hit the line in good order for the bronze behind GLENEAGLE VEE CEE. Trailing through early from this gate, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR CRUNCH (3), SMARTER THAN YOU (5), ARKIN WICKED (1), PUNTERS JEWEL (9)
 SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

With added benefit from his outing here last week when resuming from a let up and producing a solid last half, BRAVENTREACHEROUS (3) will relish an improved gate. With gates 6, 7 and 12 in his past three starts, he can press forward and with options thereafter, look to capitalise.

 MYNAMESEVAN (2)
was asked to sit parked last time out and despite the tough trip, was still fighting as ARRIVE charged late to score. Too far back and against the tempo as FATE AWAITS claimed the prize two starts back, the gate and opposition can see him throw it down here.

 FIRE RAISER (4)
was too far back last start and unable to get warm over the latter stages. Yet to find his best this season, he finds the gate to be handy enough and chase a podium result.

 IM BOO (5)
was looking for shortcuts last start when midfield behind WELEASE WODDEWICK at 2138. After a tough trip first over and beaten 4m the start prior at the mile, he can join in.

SELECTIONS: BRAVENTREACHEROUS (3), MYNAMESEVAN (2), FIRE RAISER (4), IM BOO (5)
 SUGGESTED BET:
BRAVENTREACHEROUS (3) to win

RACE SIX

Shipping in from Sydney LUX AETERNA (1) secures the perfect marble to add a fourth win on this deck. Not much went in her favour last week in the QEII Mile at Menangle behind CAPTAINS MISTRESS which followed a head deficit in a blanket finish the week prior. Her class can shine.

 TREMENDOUS SENSATION (5)
settled in the running line from gate 10 here last week and with the first 1200 in a slick tempo, had the closing speed to descend on them and claim the W. Building to that after successive placings, positioning cheaply can see her challenge.

 SWEET MIA (8)
was trying to go with the winner last week but finished 5m astern as TREMENDOUS SENSATION arrived. With three runs back from a spell, a soft trip is ideal.

 BELLA DANZA (9)
was asked to roll the sleeves and work hard in the run from gate 7 last start in her first appearance for the new stable. Fading after the tough trip, the options will present early from this gate.

SELECTIONS: LUX AETERNA (1), TREMENDOUS SENSATION (5), SWEET MIA (8), BELLA DANZA (9)
 SUGGESTED BET:
LUX AETERNA (1) to win

RACE SEVEN

Still chasing his first win of 2026, JIMARTEE (2) might just have found the conditions to produce the breakthrough. Eased from gate 5 last week and unable to get warm, he was making good metres with a 3rd to DASHING the start prior, which had followed a 7m 3rd behind LEAP TO FAME. If he can muster to find the front, he will prove tough to crack.

 ATTACHMENT (6)
found the pocket trail here last week at the mile and when set free in the stretch had the closing speed to power over the top, pull clear and join the 1.49 club with the 1.49.8 win. Chasing home when midfield the start prior behind DASHING, the wide gate is somewhat offset by the small field.

 TIMS A TROOPER (4)
eased from gate 6 last week and was trying to make a late play when midfield behind ATTACHMENT. Sitting parked the start prior and fading late, he is never far away.

SELECTIONS: JIMARTEE (2), ATTACHMENT (6), TIMS A TROOPER (4)
 SUGGESTED BET:
JIMARTEE (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

Overcoming a wide gate to score at Redcliffe two starts back, OHANA DANCER (4) was sent forward in the early stages to sit parked. Grinding out the win at 2040, she was luckless last start when snookered from inside the second line. Back to mares’ grade can see her capitalise.

 SHES CRYSTAL (5)
was strong to the line in the closing stages three starts back at her first run for the new stable. Fired off the arm last week to find the poles before taking cover, she then had the speed to dart through for victory on the passing lane. Positioning cheaply aids her claims.

 CHEER LEADER (10)
loomed strongly last week after holding the 1x1 trail. Overpowered in the stretch as SALLY BIGTIME arrived, she can be making a late play again.

 MAJORITA JUJON (1)
had her momentum checked at a crucial point when aiming for an inside run last week. Holding 4th behind SALLY BIGTIME, she will be probing again here.

SELECTIONS: OHANA DANCER (4), SHES CRYSTAL (5), CHEER LEADER (10), MAJORITA JUJON (1)
 SUGGESTED BET:
OHANA DANCER (4) to win

RACE NINE

REDS ABLAZE (2) returned from a spell with a gritty win at Redcliffe when sent around from the second line before pulling clear to post a 7m margin. Tackling a strong qualifier last start when midfield behind MEGS BOY, she finds the gate and a return to mare’s grade firmly in her favour.

 SEASIDE GLORY (7)
made an early move from the second line to work around the field to the breeze last time out and was fighting hard when holding on for the bronze. A tough winner three starts back in a 75Final, the gate is a tough ask, but she will be issuing a challenge.

 SWEET DIOR (8)
capitalised from gate 2 last time out at 2138, finding the front and taking them all the way with 2m to spare. Hitting the board in all seven starts on this deck, she will be probing.

 LULLABY (1)
was shuffled to three back along the inside from this same gate last time out when missing the money. Best of the rest behind SALLY BIGTIME the start prior, the gate is a plus.

SELECTIONS: REDS ABLAZE (2), SEASIDE GLORY (7), SWEET DIOR (8), LULLABY (1)
 SUGGESTED BET:
REDS ABLAZE (2) to win

RACE TEN

ALDEBARANSTILINSKI (3) produced a career PB at the mile here last week highlighted by a strong closing 800. Crossed early out of the machine before retaking control and dictating thereafter, he looks to have stepped up to open grade with ease and from 10m can repeat.

 GOLDEN SUNSET (6)
made a rare error as the field approached the starting area last week, galloping her way out of contention. Chasing strongly, she tacked on, stuck to the inside and produced a huge effort to grab the silver. Despite the 30m tape, she can issue the challenge.

 NOT AS PROMISED (7)
had his chances expire with an error soon after the start last week to cop the ODM embargo. A tough effort when 2m astern of MUFASA METRO the start prior when parked, he cannot be overlooked.

 IKIGAI (1)
should appreciate the conditions here off the front tape and with a safe getaway will be in a forward position. Resuming from a spell for the new stable last week behind the mobile, expect a sharper performance here.

SELECTIONS:
ALDEBARANSTILINSKI (3), GOLDEN SUNSET (6), NOT AS PROMISED (7), IKIGAI (1)
 SUGGESTED BET:
ALDEBARANSTILINSKI (3) to win
