Form Analysis: Redcliffe May 1

RACE 1 

SIR RICHARD LEE (3) was well beaten last start when doing plenty of work in a stronger race at Albion Park. He finds a more suitable race where he drops a long way back in grade. If he can bully his way to the top he would be very hard to run down.

PUNTERS JEWEL (4) has been in clear career best form. He ran third last start after getting back in a race taken out by Gleneagle Vee Cee. He should get a good run off the speed and should be running on late. 

HAPPY AS CAN BE (8) was impressive last time in finishing close up in fast times. His latest outing he ran well behind Fernco Nel who would be a short priced favourite in this race. He comes into this race first up without a trial for close to 6 months and that does appear a significant query.

ALLMIGHTY MAX (9) was able to break through for a well deserved victory two starts ago when scoring at this track sitting without cover. He then raced without luck last time out when starting from a wide draw and getting back to near last in the run.

RACE 2 

HARPERVILLE (5) sat without cover and proved just a touch too good for My Ultimate Victor. She faces a similar task drawn wide again but does have the key draw advantage on a number of her rivals. If she was able to work to the top in this race she would likely be very hard to run down.

MY ULTIMATE VICTOR (1) led last start and just found one a touch too good in Harperville who sat outside him and beat him. He should lead initially this time and has options after that whether he attempts to take them all the way or looks for a trail.

IMPERMISSIBLE (9) seemingly didn’t handle the Redcliffe track last time out when struggling to make ground out wide. She has been competitive in this type of grade in the past and if she is able to turn things around she can be very competitive. 

ROCKSNGEMS (8) burned to lead last time out holding the lead while sustaining plenty of pressure. He faded very late in the race but ran well there and seemingly drops in class in this race. He can run well.

RACE 3

BLACK GEMSTONE (4) was forced to race without cover last time out in a race taken out by Cool Dude Joey. She battled on well there to not be beaten far and should find this race significantly easier. She looks clear hardest to beat. 

PLAYING FOR KEEPS (8) has been much better in recent outings. She did a lot of work two starts ago in a race taken out by in form mare Saturday Dance battling on for fourth. She then raced without luck last start at this track when badly held up at a crucial stage.

BAHAMAS MISS (3) did plenty of work last time out when sitting outside the leader at Marburg in a race taken out by Rainbow Gambler where she battled on well for fourth. She is racing in good form and with the right run could figure in a race of this nature.

FANCY LIKE BARBIE (9) has been well beaten in recent outings in slightly tougher company. She finished at the rear of the field last time out when well beaten by Ucancallme Al. She should find this easier and will get a good run off the speed.

RACE 4 

LAST CALL (2) should be able to work forward and lead this race. She led two starts ago over the trot rods distance and proved too good there. She backed that up with another good effort last start sitting 1-1 before pulling out and racing away late. 

LENNY LINCOLN (5) secured a good run on the pegs last time out and was able to run fourth behind Littlelioneljames at Albion Park. He appears to drop right back in grade into this race and has shown previously he is capable of doing work in his races in the right company. 

ASHLEE NITRO (8) has been in excellent form in recent outings winning three starts ago after securing a good run leaders back and dashing past them late. She continued her good run of form when finishing close up in a race taken out by Harperville over My Ultimate Victor. 

SNIP OF BEAUTY (1) should secure a good run just behind the speed from an ideal draw. She is a capable sit sprinter and if the gaps appear at the right time she can be running into it late.

RACE 5

KING BLING (9) has been racing well in strong company since returning from a spell. He secured a good run last time out behind the leader and was well driven to work into the clear proving too good for Eternal Bliss who has been in excellent form. He should be hard to beat again in this race. 

UNCUT GEM (2) scored a big win last time out when racing at this track beating promising mare Tiger Shirl. He has since changed stables and lands in the stable of Ben Battle. He should be able to work forward in this race and could potentially find the lead. He can be hard to run down.

FOURTY ONE GEE (4) was able to work to the lead last time out and proved too good for a decent restricted wins field including Piccolo Diavolo and Heza Dirty Dancer. He finds a similar level of race but draws a touch awkwardly and may be shuffled back early.

VIENNA OPERA (8) was well driven to nab the position 3 back on the fence in a race taken out by Take A Chance where she finished third. She should secure a good run from a favourable trailing draw in this race and can run well again.

RACE 6 

SPORTS BOUNTY (1) has reasonable gate speed and should be able to drive through and hold the lead which is a position he loves to race in. He wasn’t suited last time out when racing outside the leader battling on fairly to not be beaten too far by Take A Chance. He can run well from an ideal draw. 

HOLME BOY (7) moves back to QLD and lands in the stable of Ryan Vievers. He secured a good run last start behind the leader and was able to run well there. He should secure a similar type of run and can run well again. 

SHEREACTS (8) was able to show good gate speed last start to cross short priced favourite San Saba at Marburg and was able to take them all the way. She should secure a good run close enough to the speed in this race and looks to have each way claims. 

PRINCE JOY (6) generally does his best work when able to race up on speed. He jumped up in grade last start and landed a good draw as a result. He led for a lot of the race before just getting a touch tired late when beaten 5.7 metres by Tiger Tommy.

RACE 7

EBONY BELLE (2) has good gate speed and should be able to work to the lead from a good draw. She is a horse that usually goes well when racing on the fresher side. If she can lead and control the race she should be hard to run down.

CONNIES SPIRIT (6) has great high speed and has been racing in good form. She was able to lead last time out in a heat of the Trot Rods series and took them all the way scoring a good win. She draws widest this time and will need to be good to win again.

GIDUP CAPTAIN (7) scored a good win five starts ago when taking them all the way to score a big win at Albion Park. He has since had a lot less luck and finds a more suitable race here. He has options in this race being the only horse off the back row.

VERMONT (5) ran well last start when she was able to run on strongly over the top late to nab Royal Winkle at this track. She looks likely to get a good run off the speed again in this race.

RACE 8

LOSTANDFOUND (3) can look to get forward in this race from a favourable draw and has run well in the past up on the speed. He was well beaten last start albeit behind a smart one in Move It Lou and Always B Cool who has since won.

DUBLIN CITY RAMBLA (4) trialled up nicely hitting the line strongly after getting back from a wide gate. He is likely to get back again from a draw that looks a touch awkward in this race and should be running on late. 

QILIN (6) ran third behind Opallane last start after doing things wrong in the early stages causing himself to miss the start and gain the ODM tag for this race. If he does things right this time he can secure a good run off the speed and should be fitter for his recent outings. 

ASCOT SHOWGIRL (1) was beaten a long way last start after securing an economical run in a race at Albion Park. She should secure a good run again and finds a race with slightly less depth.
