Form Analysis: Marburg May 4

RACE 1 

DEAL IT VINNIE (3) raced without cover in his latest race start when able to prove too good at this track. He draws the best of the main chances in this race and can press forward and find a prominent position. He should be hard to beat.

VICTREE BUSTA (4) was forced to race without cover last start at Marburg and just wasn’t quite able to reel in the winner Siya. He draws awkwardly again in this race and may be forced to work or get shuffled back.

ONEANDONLY (6) secured a good run 1 out 1 back last week and just wasn’t able to reel in the first pair finishing third behind Siya and Victree Busta. He was a solid winner in his second career start when proving too good at this track and a similar effort would see him competitive in this race. 

DOUG STEWART (5) hasn’t quite been at his absolute best in recent outings and faces a tough draw in this race outside the front row. He had a tough run last start in a race taken out by Siya.

RACE 2 

TOODALOU (9) trialled up smartly prior to debuting when winning by a big margin at Albion Park. He started short price favourite on debut and ran well there finishing third behind Smooth Troubadiesel and Dont Ask Again who has since won. He should be hard to beat despite the poor draw. 

FEARLESS DOLLY (7) ran second two starts ago behind Siya who has since won again. She should get a good run off the speed in this race and can be running on late again.

MAJOR CIARA (6) trialled up fairly recently at Albion Park and is having her first run for the powerful stable of Chantal Turpin so has to be respected. She has an awkward draw inside the back row to navigate and will need luck at some stage. 

CATTLECALL (8) trialled up well recently at Marburg albeit in very slow time. He should get a good run off the speed in this race and can be running on late on debut.

RACE 3

GOOD WORD THAT (2) has gate speed and is likely to look to press forward to find the lead holding the advantage on a number of his key rivals in this race. He has been racing a touch below his best but hasn’t had a huge amount of luck in running and has been drawing poorly in his races. 

COPY WRITER (3) was well beaten last start at this track but didn’t have things to suit there when 5 back on the pegs before hitting the line fairly late. She has gate speed and may look to press forward early and find a prominent position in this race. 

JILLIBY PANDA (6) should get a good run off the speed in this race on the pegs. He was running on strongly wide on the track last time out and just got a touch tired late but was entitled to. If the luck comes at the right time he can figure. 

CHARLIE CHUCKLES (8) ran a better race last time out when running on late behind Party Changer. He appears well graded in this race and is likely nearing peak fitness having had a few runs back from a spell.

SUGGESTED BET: GOOD WORD THAT (2) to win. 

RACE 4 

LANEYS LAST (4) was able to work to the lead last time out and dominated that race winning by a big margin and rating reasonable time for this grade. She is likely to press forward in this race and whether she is leading or forced to race without cover she should be very hard to beat again.

SIYA (2) showed gate speed last start to lead and proved too good there for Victree Busta. She draws well in this race and should be able to press forward and find the pegs before having options from there. 

WEE BONNIE (9) was forced to race without cover last start outside of Laneys Last and she ran a solid second there. She may get a bit further back this time from the outside back row draw and should be running into it late for the placings. 

KINGSBURY (6) ran a much better race last time out when securing a good run and finishing strongly to just miss nabbing Rainbow Gambler late who led in the run. He should get a good run on the pegs and if the gaps appear he will be thereabouts.

RACE 5

YOGI (3) was taken back onto the pegs last start getting a long way back before navigating into the clear and running on powerfully to finish a close up second behind Party Changer. He has a front row draw this time and can look to press forward early.

SPECIALANDIKNOWIT (1) hasn’t started since late March which looks a query in this race. His latest outing he ran well securing a good run on the pegs and running on strongly into third. He has options from the ideal draw. 

MAN OF ACTION (5) was well beaten last start behind The Real Rocketman. He has gate speed but may not be able to cross the horses drawn to his inside.

PARTY CHANGER (4) was first up last start when showing good gate speed to lead taking them all the way there beating Yogi. He faces a more awkward draw in this race starting outside a number of quick beginners.

SUGGESTED BET: SPECIALANDIKNOWIT (1) to win.

RACE 6 

ROCKTIME (2) has good gate speed and is usually a very good front runner in his races. His latest win came when showing gate speed to lead over the 2040 at Redcliffe rating good time. If he can lead he should run well. 

BEAU STEELE (1) drew poorly last start at this track and was forced to race wide for a portion of the race. He has gate speed and should have options from the good draw in this race. 

MAYWYN TROUBADOUR (6) drew widest on the front row last start and got back to last before running into fourth late. He draws more favourably in this race inside the back row and if the gaps appear at the right time he should be running on late. 

ONE LAST ROLL (3) did the work outside leader and stablemate Dual Cam and was well beaten there. He led his start prior and was able to prove too good for Lulu Lucifer leading all the way. If he could lead he would become the one to beat.

RACE 7

MACS A DUDE (1) has good gate speed and should have the speed to lead in this race. He secured a good run two starts ago in a race taken out by the smart Oakley Shard. The 2200 metre journey is a slight query and he may be a touch more suited over the shorter trips.

SPLASHNDASH (3) scored a nice win last start when getting back in the run and finishing off best to score over Sporty Zara and Copperfield. He is likely to get back again in this race and if there’s any tempo early he should be hard to hold out late. 

STUDLEIGH MARK (6) showed gate speed last start but wasn’t able to cross and ended up racing in the 1 out 1 back position. He finished a close up fifth in what was a good effort having worked early. He should secure a good run in this race. 

PRINCE OF PAIN (5) ran well last start behind Ohana Dancer when finishing midfield. She has an awkward draw in this race and will need a few things to go her way to figure.

SUGGESTED BET: STUDLEIGH MARK (6) each way.

RACE 8

MUCH BETTOR (3) has excellent gate speed and may look to press forward and find the front in this race. He’s scored 2 wins in his last 5 starts one of which came when leading all the way at Albion Park. He appears well graded. 

LULU LUCIFER (1) secured the leaders back trail last start behind One Last Roll and was able to finish second there. She has gate speed and she should have options early. She should run well again.

HELL IM SMOOTH (5) returns from a long spell in this race and draws poorly. He trialled up fairly recently at this track when finishing third. He may need to do the work at some stage or will get a long way back in the run.

B MAC C (8) should get a good run off the speed in this race from a trailing draw. He was well beaten by Dual Cam last start but was running on well into second. If the race is run to suit he should be running on again.
