Form Analysis: Marburg June 21

RACE 1 

SOCIAL OUTING (9) was well beaten last time out in a race won by La Sauvage at Redcliffe. This race looks considerably easier than his latest outing and he should be able to find a prominent position again. He should be very hard to beat.

OUR ULTIMATE BEATY (7) has two consecutive third placings in her last two starts including a solid last start third behind Berrylicious. This looks an easier race and she can run well. 

LOOKING DOWN (6) draws awkwardly inside the back row in this race behind a horse that is unlikely to be favoured in the race. She found the leaders back last time out and wasn’t beaten too far in race taken out by Bettor Be Bohdi. She comes into this race first up which appears a query. 

HAPPY HOUR TIME (4) has moderate early speed and should settle close enough from the front row draw. She ran a competitive fourth first up at Redcliffe albeit in very slow time.

RACE 2 

POWERMOVE (7) ran a good race last start in a position she wouldn’t usually be suited in outside the leader in fast time behind Kash Fund. She can be put into the race again and with a similar effort to last start she should be very hard to beat. 

MIARKA (4) started from an awkward draw last time out in a race taken out by Skylar Bree at this track last time out where she was never fully clear in the concluding stages. She is likely to have derived benefit from that latest outing and draws to advantage over her main rivals in this race. 

THE LUVBUG (5) took on a very strong race last time out which was taken out by Timmyteo in a fast mile rate. He draws widest in this race but should find this considerably easier than some of his recent outings. 

KINGSBURY (2) may be able to zip across to the lead in the early stages and should be able to run well from there. He ran a good third two starts ago behind the in-form Dusty Muster who has since won a number of times.

RACE 3

SPECIALANDIKNOWIT (1) showed good gate speed last time out at this track when able to hold the lead and take them all the way. He hasn’t started for over a month which looks a query. If he is ready to go he should run well again. 

GRIGORA (6) should get a good run through behind a horse that is likely to be keen to hold a prominent position. He secured a good run three starts ago at Redcliffe which is a run similar to the one he may get in this race and he was able to run into a good second there. 

OCTOBER RACKETEER (2) was given a tough trip last time out when attempting to make a move around to the breeze when they were running along last start before being posted wide the entire journey at Albion Park over the 2138. He battled away well considering the run he had and should secure a more economical run this time. 

WANDARY DELIGHT (7) scored a dominant win last time out when racing at this track after leading and dashing home a slick 27 quarter. She should secure a good run off the speed and can be running into it late.

SUGGESTED BET: SPECIALANDIKNOWIT (1) to win. 

RACE 4 

SCHOONERS (1) scored an impressive win last time out when showing excellent gate speed to zip across and lead all the way rating fast time for the grade. This looks a step up in grade for her in this race but she does have the barrier draw advantage around a track which there is a significant advantage in racing on the pegs. 

JAMES ALFRED (4) has bounced back to some of his better form in recent outings including an impressive last start win when coming from off the speed and proving too good for them in fast time at Albion Park. He draws a touch awkwardly in this race and may need to do some work at some stage. 

ETERNAL BLISS (6) ran another very good race last time out when facing the breeze in a race taken out by Vinnie Nitro which has since won again. She should get a very good run behind the potential leader and can be dangerous late. 

DUAL CAM (8) is the current track record holder for this track and distance. He draws very awkwardly and may need the race run to suit to be running into it late.

RACE 5

JILLIBY PANDA (7) was able to work away from the inside early last time out before rolling to the lead and handing up to La Bomba which ended up being to his detriment when dragged out of the race by that horse. He looks suited in this race to get a good run close to the speed without doing too much early work which has seemingly been his undoing at times this preparation.

BETA THAN LOVE (8) secured a good run last time out before flashing late and just missing nabbing Gotta Dream who had secured a very economical run out in front. She looks well suited in a very moderate race and can run well again. 

MAJOR MISCHIEF (4) usually does his best work when up on the speed and looks likely to be able to find a prominent position in this race. He sat without cover last time out and faded late into fifth in a slightly stronger race taken out by Take Courage. 

EBONY BELLE (5) is a gate speed horse that should be able to find a prominent position in this race. The 2200 may not be to her liking in this race and it may be a long home straight if she has worked early.

RACE 6 

BEAU STEELE (1) hasn’t won since March when leading and proving too good for them over the 2138 at Albion Park. He hasn’t started for nearly a month which looks a query but he does look well placed in this company and can run well. 

DIEGO DELGADO (6) ran an excellent race last start when kicking away before making a break half way up the straight before rallying back to finish second. He appears to draw reasonably well on the pegs in this race and with luck can win. 

GIDUP CAPTAIN (8) has won two of his last three starts and is in excellent form. He was able to secure a good run leaders back last start and proved too good there. He will likely be hoping for a genuine tempo and can be running on late. 

MACS A DUDE (5) sat without cover last time out and put in a very good run when finishing fourth behind Mitchells Run. He hasn’t started for over a month which appears a query.

SUGGESTED BET: BEAU STEELE (1) to win. 

RACE 7

QUIK CHANGE (1) has seemingly been able to recapture some of his better form in recent outings. He showed good gate speed three starts ago before taking a sit and sprinting past them late. He may elect to lead this time and should be hard to run down. 

MY ULTIMATE COSSIE (6) handed over mid race to Uncle Tony and was able to battle away well to fill a position in the placings. He draws well inside the back row and if he can work through and find a position close on the pegs he should be right in the finish. 

BETTOR CHEER (7) secured a good run close to the speed last time out and finished fourth behind Lochinvar Jewells. He should secure a good run early again without doing too much early work and can be running on late. 

STORMTIDE (8) was right back to his best two starts ago when sitting leaders back and running straight by Uncle Tony who has since won again. He then went poorly last time out when making no impression despite being ideally suited off the speed in a truly run race. Needs to bounce back if he’s to figure in this race.

RACE 8

ONE LAST ROLL (3) has early speed and will likely look to press forward and race in a prominent position. He was a winner five starts ago at this track when sitting outside the leader and proving too good. He should run well again at a track he seems to love racing at. 

LLANFAIR LLEWELLAN (6) looks the class horse in the field but does draw very awkwardly inside the back row. He raced without luck at his latest outing at Albion Park when beaten by Pretty Little Liar. With luck he can bounce back. 

B MAC C (7) finished fifth behind Tilly Jayne last time out at Marburg after securing a good run in the race. He is likely to be shuffled back early but if the race is run to suit he should be running on strongly late. 

UNCUT GEM (2) has good enough gate speed to potentially drive through and lead this race in the early stages. He has impressed since landing in the stable of Ben Battle having scored two wins both over the middle distance which seems him well placed to take out this race.
