Trial of 14-race meetings at Townsville commencing

Racing Queensland will provide additional racing opportunities for its greyhound code with the introduction of 14-race cards at Townsville meetings held on Tuesdays.

Following consultation with its key stakeholders including the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission, Sky Racing and the Townsville Greyhound Racing Club, the initiative will be trialed for a six-month period.

The six-month trial period will commence on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, with meetings programmed at the Townsville Greyhound Racing Club to host up to 14 races on Tuesdays.  

During this period, RQ will seek feedback from participants and industry stakeholders.
