RACE 1

FLYING COLOURS (1) has good gate speed and should be able to drive through and lead from the good draw in this race. He was shuffled back last time out and was running on strongly late into fourth behind Miki B. If he is able to drive through and hold the lead he is likely to be very hard to run down.

WILLIAMS (8) got a good run through early last time out before being shuffled back and was then able to work off the pegs applying plenty of pressure and just got a touch tired late when running a very good second behind Race For Riches. He should get a good run through again in this race and looks to have good claims.

RACE FOR RICHES (5) was able to secure a good run off the speed last time out in a very truly run race and was able to run over the top late to beat WILLIAMS (8). He is likely to be shuffled back again in this race from an awkward draw and should be running on strongly if the race is run to suit.

DRAGON (9) was able to score a strong win on Tuesday at Albion Park when drawing wide and getting back in the run before finishing it off strongly to beat his stablemate Bennydasook. He draws well in this race to do no work in the early stages and should be running on well late.

SELECTIONS: FLYING COLOURS (1), WILLIAMS (8), RACE FOR RICHES (5), DRAGON (9)

SUGGESTED BET: FLYING COLOURS (1) to win.

RACE 2

FERNCO NEL (10) ran well in the Rising Sun Consolation last start when drawing poorly and running on late into sixth in a quality field behind Ruby Rules and Fire And Passion. He draws the back row again in this race and may be shuffled back early but is a horse that seems to do his best racing when driven for his high speed. If the race is run to suit he should be finishing it off strongly.

HEZA PUNK ROCKER (5) made a big impression in his first two runs for the stable of Jason Grimson when scoring back to back wins in fast time both over the 2138. He stepped back to the 1660 last time out and appeared to a touch below his two runs prior when finding the front and fading into third late behind Hes No Romeo and Jungle Dragon. He draws the front row and can look to bounce back in this race.

BLUTO (8) was able to win on stable debut for Jason Grimson when zipping across early before sitting on CLASSIE WASHINGTON (1) and using the sprint lane to score late. He should get a very similar run in this race and should be running on strongly again.

CLASSIE WASHINGTON (1) was able to work across to the lead last time out at this track and was run down late by BLUTO (8) when finishing fourth. He should be able to lead early in this race before having options from there and should run well again.

SELECTIONS: FERNCO NEL (10), HEZA PUNK ROCKER (5), BLUTO (8), CLASSIE WASHINGTON (1)

SUGGESTED BET: FERNCO NEL (10) to win.

RACE 3

ALWAYS BE CHAPS (10) has been in excellent form this campaign having not missed a top 3 finish in any of his 7 runs for the stable of Matt Elkins. He was luckless last time out when wide on the track for a long way over the 1660 at this track. He may be better suited over the 2138 this time and should be very hard to beat.

STARZZZ DESTINY (3) was able to find the front three starts ago when rolling along setting a very genuine tempo before being run down late by Hell Of A Hand. He is having his second run for the stable of Shawn Grimsey having previously raced under the care of David Miles. If he can work to the front again in this race he could give them something to catch.

GREASED LIGHTNIN (1) took a trail last time out at this track and trip and was running on well late into second behind Miki B who was able to control things out and in front. He should get a similar type of run in this race from an ideal draw and should be hard to hold out.

MAJOR CRUNCH (8) should get a good run through on the back of GREASED LIGHTNIN (1) who is a gate speed horse. He got back last time out from a wide draw in a race they ran a slick last half and he just couldn’t get into it there. He should get a much more suitable run in this race.

SELECTIONS: ALWAYS BE CHAPS (10), STARZZZ DESTINY (3), GREASED LIGHTNIN (1), MAJOR CRUNCH (8)

SUGGESTED BET: ALWAYS BE CHAPS (10) to win.

RACE 4

LILSTREPO (1) has good gate speed and may be able to drive through and lead in the early stages of this race. She was able to secure a good run on the pegs last start and ran into third in a race that became a dash home. If she could drive through and lead she should be hard to run down.

DOLLY ROCKET (9) was shuffled a long way off the speed last time out at this track before running on strongly late into second behind Bubby To Base who rated good time winning. She seems to be best suited in her races when driven for her powerful finish and should get that opportunity again in this race from a good trailing draw.

THE LADY DIOR (10) was able to lead last time out before controlling things before dashing up nicely and just being run down late by Dreamalittledream who contests a stronger race later in the card. She draws outside the back row which is likely to make things tougher but she should run well again.

FEAR THE PAIN (2) has been racing in good form and finds a race where she may be able to sneak into a very prominent position on the pegs. She was able to come from off the speed at Redcliffe and run over the top to score three starts ago before having that up with a good fourth behind Race For Riches.

SELECTIONS: LILSTREPO (1), DOLLY ROCKET (9), THE LADY DIOR (10), FEAR THE PAIN (2)

SUGGESTED BET: FEAR THE PAIN (2) each way.

RACE 5

MY ULTIMATE FLYNN (3) was able to lead four starts ago when setting a very moderate tempo before dashing home a quick last quarter to score. He has good gate speed and may be able to work his way to the lead in this race which would likely see him very hard to beat in this company.

MOSSDALE TERRY (2) has plenty of gate speed and should be able to zip across before having options from there. He raced off the pegs last time out and was able to battle on reasonably there for fourth. If he can secure the right run he should be in the finish.

MIRACLE MOOSE (1) was able to secure the perfect run behind French Fries last time out and did well to run second there. He may be shuffled back early this time but has been racing in good form and should run well again in this race.

TARGARYEN (5) secured a good run last time out and was able to run into third behind French Fries at this track and over this trip. He may be shuffled back early from the wide draw but should be running on late if the race is run to suit.

SELECTIONS: MY ULTIMATE FLYNN (3), MOSSDALE TERRY (2), MIRACLE MOOSE (1), TARGARYEN (5)

SUGGESTED BET: MOSSDALE TERRY (2) each way.

RACE 6

GOLDEN FIRE (7) was able to show good gate speed to lead last time out before handing over to Bella Danza and dashed by her in the concluding stages once working into the clear. That impressive last start win came off the back of a very good third in the Golden Girl behind Eye Keep Smiling and Lux Aeterna. She has excellent gate speed and may look to work across to the lead early in this race.

STENO (8) worked forward two starts ago and faded out of it there in a race won by Bella Danza. She then landed in the breeze again last time out which just may not be a position that suits her at this stage of her career. She draws inside the back row and will likely need some luck at the right time to get into the clear.

LUVERECHS (9) was forced to do the work without cover last time out in a race taken out by GOLDEN GIRL (7) where she battled on strongly to finish fourth. She has been racing in excellent form and should get a good run through on the back of a gate speed horse.

CHEER LEADER (5) was shuffled back to last in her latest outing after electing to stay off the pegs early. She finished that race off fairly when running on late into fifth. She is likely to have derived a lot of benefit from that outing and should be running on well late.

SELECTIONS: GOLDEN FIRE (7), STENO (8), LUVERECHS (9), CHEER LEADER (5)

SUGGESTED BET: GOLDEN FIRE (7) to win.

RACE 7

CHEERSTOLOU (4) put in a huge run two starts ago in the second round of the inter Dominion when burning off the gate early before being left off the pegs and was still able to close strongly late and just be run down by Minos. He then flew across in the Inter Dominion final last time out and just may not have been suited burning early in a race they smashed the clock breaking the track record. He looks the leader and his best is good enough to take out this race.

EYE KEEP SMILING (7) was able to take out the Golden Girl last start when working to the lead past Lux Aeterna and talking them all the way. She had put in a good run first up from a spell her start prior when sitting outside of Bella Danza and battling on strongly for second. She is likely to be forced to do the work again in this race but should be fitter for recent outings and has plenty of class on her side.

CAPTAINS KNOCK (6) is very well performed horse having won over $900k in his career and raced in plenty of big races. He was seemingly a fair way off his best in the recent Inter Dominion series when it was reported he didn’t handle the travel and struggled to settle in. He was switched to the stable of Jason Grimson last time out when sent out a short priced favourite in the second round of Inter Dominion heats and he just never got into the race there. If he can bounce back to somewhere near his best he is likely to be very hard to beat in a race of this nature.

WISPER A SECRET (1) showed his customary brilliant gate speed last time out when flying across early before taking a sit on Marketplace and running second to him in the Wondais Mate before that horse went on to run a terrific race in the Rising Sun behind superstar mare Captains Mistress. He should have the gate speed to lead initially before having options from there in this race.

SELECTIONS: CHEERSTOLOU (4), EYE KEEP SMILING (6), CAPTAINS KNOCK (7), WISPER A SECRET (1)

SUGGESTED BET: CHEERSTOLOU (4) to win.

Slide8_180.png

RACE 8

DREAMALITTLEDREAM (5) worked across to the lead two starts ago and was able to take them all the way there beating BUBBY TO BASE (8). She backed that up with a good win again last start when racing on the back of The Lady Dior before coming to the outside and dashing by her late. If she can work to the lead she is likely to be hard to beat.

SWEET AGENDA (2) showed very good gate speed two starts ago to zip across before sitting on Reds Ablaze and running past her late. She then zipped across again last start but did have to burn a bit harder and didn’t have momentum turning for home. She looks a good chance of finding the front early again and can choose who she sits on.

LULLABY (1) showed good gate speed last time out but was eventually crossed by SWEET AGENDA (2). She may be crossed by that horse again in this race but will be on the pegs this time which should give her every chance in this race. If she can work into the clear at the right time she can run well again.

BUBBY TO BASE (8) led last time out and set a strong tempo there when winning nicely. She has been very good since joining the stable of Matt Elkins scoring two wins and running a second from five starts. She draws awkwardly in this race but does follow a horse likely to be keen to hold a forward position.

SELECTIONS: DREAMALITTLEDREAM (5), SWEET AGENDA (2), LULLABY (1), BUBBY TO BASE (8)

SUGGESTED BET: LULLABY (1) each way.

Slide9_119.png

RACE 9

MAYWYN SON OF LOU (1) was forced to race without cover last time out and was able to overpower the leader Rocky Hunter before holding off DOUBLEFAULT (5) in the concluding stages. He has good gate speed and an ideal draw in this this race which should see him hard to beat.

DOUBLEFAULT (5) secured a good run into the race last start and was closing strongly behind MAYWYN SON OF LOU (1). He trialled up well ahead of his race debut before running along and just tiring late. He draws poorly in this race and may be forced to work at some stage. He should run well again.

PARISIAN HUSTLER (6) made an error early which he has been prone to doing in his races. He is a horse with a lot of ability and showed that three runs ago when doing work when finishing third behind Yippe Kiyay and Hunt For Glory. If he brings his manners here he can bounce back.

DONTBEASTRANGER (2) secured a good run on the pegs behind the speed last start and was running on late into fourth in the small field. He looks likely to get a very suitable run in this race just behind the speed and should get every chance.

SELECTIONS: MAYWYN SON OF LOU (1), DOUBLEFAULT (5), PARISIAN HUSTLER (6), DONTBEASTRANGER (2)

SUGGESTED BET: MAYWYN SON OF LOU (1) to win.

Slide10_47.png

RACE 10

SURREAL MORAN (1) showed good gate speed last time out before applying strong pressure to the leader All Over It and just faded out of it late into ninth. He draws best this time and steps back to racing over the mile. He can lead and should be very hard to run down in this race.

BEROCCA BERNIE (2) scored a dominant win three starts ago when rating fast time for the 2138 at this track. He then took on stronger races including the Derby Consolation last time out where he didn’t have the best of luck. He should get a good run close to the speed and can be running on late.

RUGGARDS GEE TEE (4) was able to find the front last start and scored a dominant win there leading all the way at this track over the 2138 beating Number One Ranger. This race looks a lot tougher but he was very impressive last start and despite the awkward draw he can still figure with the right run.

FOURTY ONE GEE (5) was able to secure a good run off the pegs last time out at this track racing over the 2138 and ran on strongly late into second behind Co Captain. He should get a good run off the speed in this race and could be suited by the small field and likely genuine tempo.

SELECTIONS: SURREAL MORAN (1), BEROCCA BERNIE (2), RUGGARDS GEE TEE (4), FOURTY ONE GEE (5)

SUGGESTED BET: SURREAL MORAN (1) to win.

RACE 11

SWEET LEAH JANE (1) scored an impressive win on debut when working off the gate early before handing to Fan The Flame and running by turning for home to score a good win at Redcliffe. She backed that up with another good run last time out when seemingly being out sprinted by CRUSEY (2) who was the first horse to move wider in the race. She has the speed to dictate early and should be hard to beat.

CRUSEY (2) backed up a good Mildura debut win with another win when first up for the stable of Chantal Turpin at this track. She was the first horse to move first over and was able to overpower the leader before holding off SWEET LEAH JANE (1) late. She has options in the small field and should run well again.

AUNTY MEL (4) was able to lead last time out and was run down late finishing third behind the two favourites in this race SWEET LEAHE JANE (1) and CRUSEY (2). She looks to have a bit of ground to make up on those horses given she has drawn worse in this race and was well held last start.

PRETTY WICKED (5) draws widest in this small field but should be too far away in the run. She seems to have good speed and could be running on late if the race is run to suit.

SELECTIONS: SWEET LEAH JANE (1), CRUSEY (2), AUNTY MEL (4), PRETTY WICKED (5)

SUGGESTED BET: SWEET LEAH JANE (1) to win.
