RACE 7
CHEERSTOLOU (4) put in a huge run two starts ago in the second round of the inter Dominion when burning off the gate early before being left off the pegs and was still able to close strongly late and just be run down by Minos. He then flew across in the Inter Dominion final last time out and just may not have been suited burning early in a race they smashed the clock breaking the track record. He looks the leader and his best is good enough to take out this race.
EYE KEEP SMILING (7) was able to take out the Golden Girl last start when working to the lead past Lux Aeterna and talking them all the way. She had put in a good run first up from a spell her start prior when sitting outside of Bella Danza and battling on strongly for second. She is likely to be forced to do the work again in this race but should be fitter for recent outings and has plenty of class on her side.
CAPTAINS KNOCK (6) is very well performed horse having won over $900k in his career and raced in plenty of big races. He was seemingly a fair way off his best in the recent Inter Dominion series when it was reported he didn’t handle the travel and struggled to settle in. He was switched to the stable of Jason Grimson last time out when sent out a short priced favourite in the second round of Inter Dominion heats and he just never got into the race there. If he can bounce back to somewhere near his best he is likely to be very hard to beat in a race of this nature.
WISPER A SECRET (1) showed his customary brilliant gate speed last time out when flying across early before taking a sit on Marketplace and running second to him in the Wondais Mate before that horse went on to run a terrific race in the Rising Sun behind superstar mare Captains Mistress. He should have the gate speed to lead initially before having options from there in this race.
