RACE 1

SQUAMISH (5) sat without cover two starts ago when finishing third behind Northern Heights and Darcys Fireball. He looks to be dropping back in class into this race and is a horse which could be put into the race if the tempo permitted. He should be hard to beat.

DAIMYO (4) has good early speed and can look to press forward and find a prominent position in this race. He was able to secure a good run behind the leader recently at this track and sprinted best to score late.

LEAF STRIDE (6) joins the stable of Shawn Grimsey having previously done his racing in NSW at a good level. He ran a good fourth last time out in the trotters cup behind Ghandi Mail.

LAYDOWNLUNA (3) has good early speed and may be able to work across early before having options from there. If she can secure the right run she can be running on late in this race.

SELECTIONS: SQUAMISH (5), DAIMYO (4), LEAF STRIDE (6), LAYDOWNLUNA (3)

SUGGESTED BET: SQUAMISH (5) to win.

RACE 2

FIRE AND PASSION (6) looks a clear standout on class in this race and appears very hard top beat despite drawing outside the front row. He trialled up nicely recently at this track when beating Shes Crunchy who raced without a lot of luck on Saturday when returning.

UNCLE TONY (1) was able to lead and win two starts ago over the 1660 at Albion Park beating Tilly Jayne. He has always been a horse best served when driven with a sit and can look to lead and sit on the likely short priced favourite in this race FIRE AND PASSION (6).

WILLIAMS (2) with no back line in this race he should be able to drop in and secure the right type of run in this race. He took on a strong race last time out taken out by Mostert and battled away fairly there for third.

BITE THE EAR MIKE (3) secured an ideal run on the back of his stablemate Barracuda last time out at Marburg and didn’t finish the race off there finishing fifth albeit it not beaten far. He may just be better suited around the bigger track and should secure a good run on the pegs.

SELECTIONS: FIRE AND PASSION (6), UNCLE TONY (1), WILLIAMS (2), BITE THE EAR MIKE (3)

SUGGESTED BET: UNCLE TONY (1) to place.

RACE 3

BAINBRIDGE (5) burned across to the lead last time out and may have just peaked on his run late when reeled in by the in-form horse Smarter Than You who had the perfect run on his bay. He may be able to burn across to the lead again in this race and could be tough to reel in.

TIGER BAND WAGON (6) was able to secure a soft run behind the lead last time out and ran on strongly to get into a clear second behind Captain Shuffles. He draws much less favourably this time and may be forced to do some work in the run.

FIRE RAISER (2) put in an excellent run last time out when sitting four back on the pegs and running on nicely into fourth behind Leap To Fame. He should secure a good run close to the speed and should be running on well late.

DRAGON (1) has an ideal draw in this race and has been racing in good form. He ran a good third last time out behind the classy Fait Awaits and Regazzo Di Tilly.

SELECTIONS: BAINBRIDGE (5), TIGER BAND WAGON (6), FIRE RAISER (2), DRAGON (1)

SUGGESTED BET: BAINBRIDGE (5) to win.

RACE 4

KICKING HORSE (2) wasn’t beaten far three starts ago behind NONIS GOLD CLASS (1) in a similar race to this one. He is 10m better off this time and given the small margin between them in that race he should be a good chance of turning the tables.

NONIS GOLD CLASS (1) usually steps well from the stand start and should get a good run given the favourable handicap. She was able to lead and win three starts ago beating KICKING HORSE (2) and can look to do the same again in this race.

SERENA LOVE (7) was her own worst enemy three starts ago when making a break in the concluding stages which cost her what appeared to be certain victory. She was able to make amends two back winning before running well again last start.

BUSTER DAN (6) has been in excellent form recently and was able to score another good win last time out when running over the top late to beat Lochinvar Son. The way the handicaps are in this race he is likely to find this a lot tougher.

SELECTIONS: KICKING HORSE (2), NONIS GOLD CLASS (1), SERENA LOVE (7), BUSTER DAN (6)

SUGGESTED BET: KICKING HORSE (2) to win.

RACE 5

BARRACUDA (6) scored a good win last time out at Marburg when being forced to race without cover and was just able to prove too strong late. He finds a suitable race where he should be able to work forward and if he can find the front he should take plenty of running down.

SWEET ROCKY (9) led last time out and appeared to have his chance there when beaten by Amami. He has now run second in all three of his QLD starts and looks like he has found another race where he can figure in the placings again.

PUNTERS JEWEL (4) has excellent gate speed but has seemingly been best in his races when driven with a sit. He got back in the run last time out at Redcliffe over the 2040 and was running on late into eighth. With the right run he could figure in the finish.

MARTIN MAGIC (7) was running on strongly last time out into third behind Amami in what was a much better effort. He draws poorly again in this race as a result of his ODM tag and he can look to be running on late again.

SELECTIONS: BARRACUDA (6), SWEET ROCKY (9), PUNTERS JEWEL (4), MARTIN MAGIC (7)

SUGGESTED BET: BARRACUDA (6) to win.

RACE 6

UBETONRED (7) looked to be terribly unlucky last time out when attempting to get forward early before being forced to the rear of the field and was still just narrowly beaten late in third by Shez A Punter. He should be able to get forward this time and should be hard to beat.

HARRY KANE (3) may be able to work across to the lead which should see him hard to beat in a race of this nature. He led three starts ago and was run down late over the 2138 by Smirks Lika Boss. He is likely to have derived benefit from recent runs and should be better suited leading over the 1660.

OCTOBER RACKETEER (2) should have the speed to lead initially before having options from there. He was a good winner recently at Marburg when securing a good run off the speed and finishing best to score.

MIGHTY IDEAL (8) should get a good run through behind the speed in this race. Secured a good run behind the speed two starts ago at this track and trip and was able finish best to score. He should secure a similar run in this race and can be running on late.

SELECTIONS: UBETONRED (7), HARRY KANE (3), OCTOBER RACKETEER (2), MIGHTY IDEAL (8)

SUGGESTED BET: UBETONRED (7) to win.

RACE 7

POCKET BOOK (11) hasn’t had much luck in recent outings including last time out when shuffled a long way back. She is likely to be shuffled back again from the outside back row draw but should be suited in this grade of race and can be running on strongly late.

ROCKY LEIGH (6) has been trialling up well since joining the stable of Jack Chapple and ran a good third in a recent trial behind Magic Miki. He draws wide and may be forced to do some work in this race but should be hard to beat.

TAKE A CHANCE (10) was able to lead recently and was only just run down late by Powermove. He could be put into the race at some stage and can run well again in this company.

JIMMY BLING (8) wasn’t beaten far last time out behind Azor Ahai over the 1660 at this track. He will be relying on some luck from inside the back row but looks to find a suitable race.

SELECTIONS: POCKET BOOK (11), ROCKY LEIGH (6), TAKE A CHANCE (10), JIMMY BLING (8)

SUGGESTED BET: POCKET BOOK (11) to win.

RACE 8

BETTOR BE BOHDI (9) has been a professional place getter since his latest win in late May having placed nine times in twelve starts. He should get a good run in this race and can be hard to beat in this type of company.

BETTOR CHEER (4) scored a dominant win recently at this track and trip beating stablemate Next To Me. He was less suited drawing poorly last time out in a strong race taken out by Flying Colours.

RACANA (2) secured a good run last time out behind the leader but couldn’t finish it off in a very genuinely run race which was taken out by Cosmic Flyer. She may be able to press to the lead in this race and should be thereabouts.

NEXT TO ME (11) was forced to race without cover last time out at Albion Park when finishing fifth in a race the leader King Bobbie bowled along a genuine tempo. He draws poorly in this race and will need a few things to go his way.

SELECTIONS: BETTOR BE BOHDI (9), BETTOR CHEER (4), RACANA (2), NEXT TO ME (11)

SUGGESTED BET: BETTOR BE BOHDI (9) to win.
