RACE 3
GUS (10) the Inter Dominion Trotting champion of 2026 returns in this race and faces a big 50m handicap in this race which is likely to put him to the rest first up. His latest trial was very impressive beating pacer Betterthan Popsy by a big margin and was able to dash up a quick last quarter of 26.7. He will look to run well in this race before looking towards repeating his 2025 NZ successes.
KEAYANG STUKA (9) has a key 20m handicap advantage on main rival GUS (10) in this race which he is likely to be keen to hold in the early stages of the race. He comes into this race third up from a spell off the back of a good run second up when finishing a close up second to PINNIE (8) who he takes on again in this race.
PINNIE (8) has been impressive since joining the stable of Chantal Turpin scoring another good win last time out when working to the lead before holding off the late challenge of KEAYANG STUKA (9). She is versatile and with a safe beginning from her 30m handicap she should run well in this race.
MAJESTIC LAVROS (1) stepped nicely last time out to lead before handing over and was able to hang on for third there behind Pinnie and Keayang Stuka. He should be able to step to the lead again in this race before waiting for one of the more fancied runners to hand over to and he can run well again from there.
SELECTIONS: GUS (10), KEAYANG STUKA (9), PINNIE (8), MAJESTIC LAVROS (1)
SUGGESTED BET: GUS (10) to win.
