The Maranoa Diggers Race Club is gearing up for its annual race day at Mitchell Racecourse on Saturday, October 17, featuring the 1200m Booringa Cup.

Gates open at 12 noon, with the first race at 1.30pm and a five'race program on offer throughout the afternoon, headlined by the 1200m Booringa Cup.

There’ll be plenty happening off the track too, with Fashions on the Field for adults and children, Yabbie Races and a sandpit for the kids, along with food from SEA Catering, a licensed bar, bookmakers and Sky Channel. Fashions for children aged up to six will be judged between races one and two, with children aged seven and over and the adult categories held after the final race.

The fun continues after the racing, with the Yabbie Auction and Race following Fashions on the Field before live entertainment from Missing Link gets underway at 7pm.

A courtesy bus will operate on race day, with pick-ups between 12pm and 2pm from Richard’s Hotel, Western Hotel, Mitchell Motel, Mini Mart, Cambridge Motel and Major Mitchell Caravan Park. Return drop-offs back into town will operate from 5pm. A donation box will be available on the bus.

General admission is $15 for adults over 18, with EFTPOS available at the gate and bar.
