The curtain draws on the Northern Carnival at Ladbrokes Cannon Park for Cairns Cup Day!
The new Great Northern Crowns bonus initiative, proudly sponsored by Great Northern, will see $1 million in bonus payments add even more excitement to this year’s carnival.
Central & North Queensland will come alight as sprinters and stayers alike take their shot at a $500,000 bonus for winning four respective sprint or cups features throughout the 2026 Northern Winter Racing Carnival.
The feature event – the Red Beret Hotel Cairns Cup – attracts quality gallopers from across the country, all chasing significant prizemoney and the honour of becoming the 2026 Cairns Cup champion.
The Cairns Jockey Club will also welcome one of Australia’s most decorated jockeys, William ‘The Wizard’ Pike, to ride at the stacked meeting!
