GENERAL
 
The following horses were declared late scratching’s by Stewards due to there being no riders available:
Race 3: FINAL MISSION- 10.45am
Race 4: WOLF POINT - 10.45am
Race 4: SHARPAY RULER - 10.45am
Race 4: VALIANT JOAN -10.45am
Race 5: BOSTON OF TUFFY - 8.14am
 
Race 1: HANNAY EARTHMOVING JEFF DOLGNER MEMORIAL MAIDEN PLATE 3-Y-O & Up 1000 Metres
 
Correct weight was delayed allowing Jockey J Rudd, rider of fourth placegetter MISHANI OUTLAW to view the photo finish. When Jockey Rudd and Stewards were similarly satisfied, correct weight was declared on the judges’ semaphored numbers.
 
MISHANI OUTLAW – Slow to begin.
 
LONIESHA – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
SHE'S A FERRARI – Reared out of the barriers when the start was affected and dislodged Apprentice Jockey N Palmer. QAS Officers cleared Apprentice Palmer of any concussion symptoms and he was cleared to fulfill his remaining engagements at the meeting. Trainer R Zahl was advised that SHE'S A FERRARI would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate before racing again.
 
THE FOX SISTERS – Began awkwardly.
 
Race 2: BARCALDINE WELDING WORKS QTIS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1000 Metres
 
PALAZZO SPIRIT – Bumped on jumping. Over-raced in the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
IKNOWYOU – Began awkwardly.
 
MUSIC AWARD – Began awkwardly.
 
VICI – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight
 
RAPIDS – Underwent a prerace Veterinary inspection due to the gelding not having raced for an extended period. As a result, RAPIDS was passed suitable to start. Began awkwardly. Shifted out on jumping and bumped BOWIE OF DUBAI.
 
ZEQUEL – Slow to begin. Raced ungenerously and was inclined to hang out for the first 200m.
 
NORTHUMBRIA – Shifted out on jumping and bumped PALAZZO SPIRIT. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
BOWIE OF DUBAI - Bumped on jumping. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 3: CLARENDEN CATTLE CO CLASS 6 PLATE 3-Y-O & Up 1200 Metres
 
BANGERS AND MAYO – Shifted in passing the 50m to obtain clear running.
 
DAIMYO (JPN) – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. Lost the offside front shoe in running.
 
DECLASSIFY – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Jockey H Phillips report that DECLASSIFY was inclined to lay in for the majority of the event before commencing to lay out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
DIRTY MERCHANT – Began awkwardly and made contact with the offside barrier gate resulting in Jockey T Townsend becoming unbalanced.
 
TWILIGHT ROCK – TWILIGHT ROCK was declared a late scratching at the barriers when the gelding refused to load. Trainer representative Stephanie Alexander was advised that TWILIGHT ROCK would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate before racing again.
 
Upon the declaration of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on TWILIGHT ROCK be refunded with the following deductions to apply –
1st place –21c win, 17c place
2nd place –17c place
3rd place –17c place
 
Race 4: MICHAEL HORMAN TRANSPORT BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200 Metres
 
FREDDIE EDDIE – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running entering the home straight.
 
DEN END – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Spun around on pulling up and dislodged Jockey H Phillips. Jockey Phillips was assessed by the oncourse QAS officers and passed suitable to fulfill her remaining rides.
 
BLOOMIN' GOLD – Slow to begin. Shifted wider passing the 600m to improve position.
 
MIDSUMMER NIGHT - Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
Race 5: WOODHAM PETROLEUM RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP 1400 Metres
 
ULTIMATE MAN – Raced wide throughout. Weakened over the final 200m. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
ARMSTRONG BAY – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
HOWSE – Slow to begin.
 
LASTING PROMISE – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 6: TJF MILK JOHN DOLGNER MEMORIAL CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1400 Metres
 
Correct weight was delayed allowing Jockey H Phillips, rider of second placegetter SCORCHED LAND to view the Photo finish. When Jockey Phillips and Stewards were similarly satisfied, correct weight was declared on the judges’ semaphored numbers.
 
FOR VALOUR – When asked to comment on the gelding’s performance, Jockey J Missen reported that FOR VALOUR travelled well early but when placed under pressure the gelding failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing in its overall performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
SCORCHED LAND – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
HEYINGTON STATION – Held up for clear running down the home straight and went to the line without being fully tested by its rider.
 
HERE HE LOOMS – Apprentice Jockey M Mankelow reported that in her opinion HERE HE LOOMS will be better suited in races over further distances.
 
BURDEKIN – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
I AM GOOD AT THIS – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
