GENERAL
 
App. E Cass was reprimanded under the provisions of AR143(12)(b) for failing to bring her winning rides book to todays meeting.
 
 
 
Race 1: Atherton TC Class B Handicap (1000m)
 
THE FRONTIER- Began awkwardly. Abruptly crossed to the fence from a wide barrier shortly after the start. Jockey Yadi was reminded of his obligations and advised to show greater care in similar circumstances. Hung-out from the 700m turn.
 
JOHN THE RODENT- Bumped with another runner on jumping. Hung-out rounding home turn.
 
INSTINCTION LASS- Bumped with another runner on jumping.
 
SUNNY COWBOY- Raced wide throughout.
 
BOLD EXPECTATIONS-Shifted out on jumping. Inclined to layout under pressure down the running. Jockey S Wilson was reminded of his obligations and advised to straighten his mount in similar circumstances.
 
 
Following the running of this race Jockey Graham Watson reported he had been struck in the eye by kickback and was  subsequently attended to by QAS officials who deemed him unfit to fulfil his remaining engagements and transported him to Atherton Base Hospital for observations. Jockey Watson was advised he would require a medical certificate prior to race riding again. Rider replacements are as per Summary.
 
 
 
Race 2: Tolga Markets Maiden Plate (1100m)
 
LETS GO SMARTY- Trainer P Rowe advised it was their intention for the filly to lead today if circumstances permitted. Following the race Jockey W D’Avila advised that the filly was unable to muster the early pace required to lead and subsequently raced in a midfield position throughout. Hung-out under pressure shortly after straightening momentarily hampering another runner and again passing the 100m. Jockey D’Avila was reminded of his obligations and advised to straighten his mount in future.
 
SCARAMOUCHE- Bumped by another runner and taken wider on straightening, hampering another runner to its outside as a result. Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running
 
UPTOWN TOFF- Momentarily hampered by another runner which shifted out shortly after straightening and again passing the 100m.
 
GREYSERENE- Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
SUPER DANCER- Hampered by another runner which was taken wider on straightening.
 
YOUCUDAHAD DIS- Raced greenly in the early stages. On straightening, shifted out and bumped another runner taking it wider.
 

 
Race 3: Barron Valley Ratings Band 0-60 Handicap (1200m)
 
DEJA DOOM- Began awkwardly and shifted in loosing ground as a result.
 
LABRUSCO- Shifted out marginally on jumping momentarily placing another runner in restricted room.
 
DOUBLE DENMAN- Momentarily raced in restricted room shortly after jumping. Raced wide throughout.

Following the running of this race Stewards conducted a track inspection, with particular attention given to a section from the 800m-400m, and subsequently downgraded the track to a Good 4.
 
 
 
Race 4: Central Tyre Service Open Handicap (1200m)

TAPTHETILL- Slow to begin.
 
SAXAPHONE- Began awkwardly.
 
BRYANS BABE- Slow to begin. Performed below market expectations. Trainers representative Mr R Ryan advised that since stepping up in grade the mare had struggled to maintain form and after several disappointing performances connections would now consider the mares immediate racing future.
 
SALESMAN- Raced wide throughout.
 
CENTRO SUPERIOR- Wide throughout.
 
 
 
Race 5: Tolga Lions QTIS Benchmark 50 Handicap (1400m)

CELESTIAL JEWL- After being kicked by another runner in the mounting yard underwent a pre-race veterinary examination at the barriers and was passed fit to start.
 
LA SHAFT- Slow into stride. On return to the mounting yard Jockey P Cullen advised the mare felt off in her action throughout and as a result he did not pressure her down the running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the off-hind limb and to have sustained a minor laceration to the off-side flank. Trainer Miss N Homann was advised that a veterinary certificate would be required prior to the mare again being permitted to start in a race.
 
BEAT IT- Raced wide early and middle stages. Shifted in and bumped with another runner over the concluding stages.
 
SOLDATI- Shifted out and bumped with another runner over the concluding stages.
