Race 3: 4CA'S 85th BIRTHDAY OPEN Handicap – 1250 Metres – SPACE TIME – Stewards questioned apprentice R. Shred and trainer J. Ryan in relation to the recent pattern of racing of the gelding. Apprentice Shred explained she was instructed to have the gelding in a forward position however it relaxed immediately on jumping and caught her by surprise, as such she was reluctant to push the horse forward having drawn barrier one, concerned it may start to over-race and improve onto the heels of the runners that had already crossed her. Ms Ryan confirmed the instructions and explained she had not expected the gelding to be at the rear of the field however did agree with Ms Shreds comments. Whilst stewards noted the explanations, Ms Ryan was nonetheless advised that stewards would expect a more consistent racing pattern going forward and she was further reminded of her obligation to advise stewards of any desired change in tactics.   
 
Race 7:FOWLER'S GROUP BM 58 Handicap – 1250 Metres – ACADEMY HILL – Blundered badly approaching 400 metres. Trainer M. Geaney advised stewards the gelding had returned to his stables and appeared well, however after having chiropractic treatment the following day was found to have general muscle soreness and will now be sent for an immediate spell.
 
Race 7:FOWLER'S GROUP BM 58 Handicap – 1250 Metres – WILD CHOICE – Disappointing performance. Trainer A. Bailey advised stewards that whilst he was disappointed with the gelding’s performance it had pulled up well and he will now experiment with possible gear changes prior to next race start, as it may be getting it’s tongue over the bit.   
 
General:
 
Due to no rider availability the following runners were declared late scratching’s at 1.15pm – Meteorano, Soneymar Star, Red Denaro, Rough Cut Jewel.
 
Race 1:GET MARRIED @ MORROW PARK QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1000 Metres

DANGERFIELD – Slow to begin. Inconvenienced by ARAWELO near the 700 metres which laid out. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

SON DINGO – After being slow to begin was bumped by MAMMA DON’T DANCE which shifted out.

MAMMA DON'T DANCE – Began awkwardly, shift out bumping SON DINGO and lost ground.

PRINCESS GLEE – Began awkwardly
 
ARAWELO – Slow to begin. Laid out for the majority of the race and shifted out near the 700 metres inconveniencing DANGERFIELD. Steadied near the 450 metres when racing ungenerously. Connections were advised a warning would be placed on the fillies racing manners.
 
Race 2:BOOK YOUR SPECIAL EVENT @ MORROW PARK BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP – 1000 Metres
 
WRONGFULLY WRONG – Declared a late scratching at 11.30am by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice when found to be lame in the off-front leg. Trainer N. Homann was advised she must provide a veterinary certificate of soundness prior to the gelding being permitted to race again.
 
SPEED EIGHT – Delayed the start when rider N. Yadi was dislodge whilst proceeding to the barriers. After cantering a short distance was recaptured, examined by the veterinary surgeon, and was cleared to start. Jockey N. Yadi was examined by the QLD ambulance service and cleared to fulfil his rides.   
 
AHRI'S AMORE – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
KONNICHIWA – A post veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery. Trainer P. Rowe reported following the event the mare may have got its tongue over the bit during running, and further added he would experiment with possible gear changes prior to its next race start.
 
Race 3: BECOME A MEMBER ATC BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 1100 Metres
 
BIG TOMEE – A pre-race veterinary examination of the gelding which was returning after a long absence from racing cleared the gelding to start. A further pre-race veterinary examination behind the barriers revealed the gelding to be lame in the off-front leg and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 2.26pm. All monies invested on BIG TOMEE were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on the winner and placegetters prior to 2.26PM:
4 cents in the dollar on all win bets and 5 cents in the dollar for all place bets. Trainer J. Williams was advised he must provide a veterinary clearance of soundness for the gelding prior to its next start.
 
EVIL EYE MAC – Slow to begin.
 
BREAK ON THROUGH – Began awkwardly, shifted out crowding SOGNI and lost ground.
 
SOGNI – Crowded for room on jumping. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
LABRUSCO – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

Race 4:MARKETS 1ST SUNDAY @ MORROW PARK CLASS B HANDICAP – 1200 Metres
 
ROSE OF ATHENS – Began awkwardly before improving forward to share the lead.   
 
VULPES – Began awkwardly and shifted in bumping heavily with DANNI’S RULER.
 
DANNI'S RULER – Bumped heavily on jumping. Raced keenly in the early stages. Weakened over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer A. Malliff advised it is now his intention that the gelding be sent for an immediate spell.  
 
FAST ENUFF – Over-raced in the early stages. Raced wide for the majority of the race.  
 
CARPE NOCTEM – Was disapointed for a run to the inside of ROSE OF ATHENS and was restrained near the 170 metres before shifting wider.

Race 5: SPONSOR A RACE BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 1400 Metres
 
HOT TOP – Began awkwardly.  
 
ARITOMO – Raced ungenerously in the early stages and lost ground.  
 
HOLLYWOOD DREAMING – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
HIGH ADVICE – Jockey E. Cass was fined the sum $500 under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that she used her whip on seven occasions prior to the 100 metres which is two more times than is permitted. This was Ms Cass’s 8th breach of this rule.
