Race 1: Glenlands Droughtmasters Benchmark 60 H’Cap - 1000 metres

DASHING CONQUEROR- After being loaded broke through the barriers and galloped a short distance before being restrained. Upon returning to the barriers was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed suitable to race. A post-race Veterinary Inspection revealed the gelding to have suffered an off fore tendon injury. Trainer R Connelly was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required for the gelding prior to it next racing.

ARCTIC RED- After being loaded broke through the barriers and galloped a short distance before being restrained. Upon returning to the barriers was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed suitable to race. Shifted in under pressure in the home straight.

RHYTHM NATION- Checked near the 500m and lost considerable ground. At a subsequent inquiry Jockey D Brown pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) for permitting his mount ARTIC RED to shift at that point when insufficiently clear of RHYTHM NATION resulting in that runner being tightened for room and checked. Jockey Browns licence to ride in races was suspended for a period commencing at midnight Saturday 11-4-15 and to expire at midnight 23-4-15.

BELLE EXPRESS- Raced wide throughout.

QUANTUM SHADOW- Slow into stride and raced wide throughout.
COPPER THIEF- Raced wide throughout.




Race 2: Fields & Fraser Produce Qtis Maiden Plate Maiden Plate- 1200 metres

MADAM AUBERGE- After being loaded broke through the barriers and galloped a short distance before being restrained. Upon returning to the barriers was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed suitable to race.

TAVY NIGHTS- Slow to begin.

REVENUE RAIDER- Raced wide throughout.

SIR CLISBY- Slow into stride.

ARVAKUR- Apprentice S. Chan was reminded of his obligations in relation to raising his whip arm above shoulder height.

MR SCISSORHAND- A post-race Veterinary Inspection revealed the gelding to have suffered an off fore tendon injury. Trainer W Baker was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required for the gelding prior to it next racing.



Race 3: Pinaroo Santa Gertrudis Stud/Organic Meat Company Class B Handicap - 1200 metres

As Apprentice G Leung was not riding at the meeting, Q Krogh was the replacement rider for DIAMOND RUSH.

BLACKMORE VALE- Began awkwardly.

SKY DISK- Jockey N Day was reprimanded for using his whip on consecutive occasions prior to the 100m.

FABLED DOMAIN- After being loaded broke through the barriers and galloped a short distance before being restrained. Upon returning to the barriers was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed suitable to race.

SPINTHESONY- Slow to begin and raced wide throughout.

Near the 900m, DIAMOND RUSH and FABLED DOAMIN were both severely tightened for room when racing between VALHALLA MIST which shifted out and BAY HERO which shifted in whilst raced ungenerously after being bumped by KEEP THE CURRENCY. As a result of this incident FABLED DOMAIN was checked and lost is position. Whilst Stewards noted the incident was of significance, they were unable to attribute fault to any one rider and as such no action was taken.

Race 4: Allied Beef & Landmark Benchmark65 Handicap - 1200 metres

PRESIDENTIAL- Raced wide throughout.

BOLD DICTATOR- Raced wide throughout.

Race 5: Sheridan Delforce/Grant Sullivan TPT Meatant Cup Open Handicap - 1300 metres

REIGNING TO WIN- Slow to begin.

CRAWFISH- Raced wide throughout.

REGAL PRINCE- Became awkward near the 400m and dipped noticeably. Apprentice N Morton reported that from this point the gelding never travelled comfortably and felt short its action on returning to scale. A post-race Veterinary Inspection failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer R Frazer reported that the horse had pulled up well in the days following the event and as such he will continue with the gelding’s current preparation.
