GENERAL
 
Stewards approved the following overweight allowances at today’s meeting-
 
Race 1 – FAIRYBOWER FLYER – Mark Barnham – 1kg
 
 
Race 1: TNT RACING STABLES QTIS Maiden Plate 1000 metres
 
LOVE OVER GOLD – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages. Shifted in abruptly near the 200m and as a result placed its rider momentarily unbalanced.
 
STAYS ON TOUR – Slow to begin. Was inclined to lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
ROYO – Raced keenly in the early stages. Wide for the majority.
 
ALL SORTED – Fractious in the barriers.
 
FAIRYBOWER FLYER – Inclined to lay in for the majority of the home straight. At a point near the 200m shied in and away from LOVE OVER GOLD and as a result placed its rider monetarily unbalanced.
 
GOODY GOODY – Laid in for the early part of the home straight. Jockey J. Missen was reminded of his obligation to  ride his mount out to the line.
 
LOONEY TUNES – Began awkwardly and as a result lost ground.
 
 
 
Race 2: BARCALDINE REGIONAL COUNCIL Class 3 Plate 1000 metres
 
KING CONI – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
YULE MY HERO – Began Awkwardly.
 
GOD'S PENNY – Slow to begin.
 
SOLE HEIR – Race wide for the majority.
 
ONLY EMMA – Began awkwardly. Race wide for the majority. Near the 300m improved onto heels and was momentarily forced to steady.
 
 
 
Race 3: CAPRICORN PLUMBING & BUILDING SUPPLIES 0 - 55 Handicap 1600 metres
 
ZABCAN – Slow to begin. Jockey R McMahon was fined $200 for using the whip on 8 occasions prior to the 100m under AR132(7)(a)(ii).
 
PORTABELLE – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
REALLY REALLY GOOD – Over race in the early stages.
 
PRUNDA – When questioned regarding the below market expectation performance jockey B Richardson advised that after travelling well in the early and middle stages her mount failed to respond when placed under pressure near the 600m and in her opinion was proved disappointing. Post-race veterinary examining revealed the gelding to have a slow post-race recovery.
 
SO EMPRESSIVE – Laid in for the majority of the home straight.
 
HOT CHOCOLATE – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early and middle stages before striding forward to find a position in the lead near the 1300m. Upon return to scale App A Bakos advised that her saddle shifted shortly after the start and as a result she had difficulty controlling her mount throughout the early and middled stages. She further added that as a result her mount failed to respond when placed under pressure from the 400m and in her opinion proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have no abnormalities.
 
 
 
 
Race 4: PAT ODGEN TREE OF KNOWLEDGE / OUTBACK RACING SHOWCASE (HEAT) OPEN Hand 1600 metres
 
Following this event the track  was upgraded to a soft 5 retrospectively to include race 4.
 
GYPSY BIKER – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
 
NO INUENDO – Slow to begin.
 
PAST TENSE – Slow to begin. Laid in in the early part of the home straight.
 
SAHAR (NZ) – Race wide throughout
 
SURPRISE SELECTION – Raced wide in the early stages before striding forward to find a position in the lead near the 1200m.
 
PHYLAVE – R Tilley – Over-raced in the early stages. Raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 5: LONGREACH RSL DIGGERS CUP OPEN Handicap 1200 metres
 
STAR OF O'REILLY (NZ) – Race keen in the early stages. Jockey R McMahon was reminded of his obligations to ride his mount out to the line.
 
ANCIENT ECHOES – Hung out rounding the home turn. Jockey R Tilley was fined $200 for using the whip on 9 occasions prior to the 100m AR132(7)(a)(ii).
 
BURDEN – Inclined to lay in throughout.
 
KEDLESTON – Slow to begin.
 
ZILITOR – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 6: MICHAEL HORMAN TRANSPORT Class 6 Plate 1200 metres
 
ACEPLAY and ALGEROBA were declared late scratching’s by the Stewards at 12:30pm due to no riders being available.
 
NO REFUND – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
LIVE AND FREE (NZ) – Slow to begin. Over-race in the early stages.
 
LOUIE THE LEGEND – Reared at the start and lost ground.
 
STRIKE POINT – Reared at the start and lost ground. Raced wide throughout with cover.
 
WICKED WENCH (NZ) – Raced wide throughout.
 
VINAIGRETTE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Upon the trainer’s request VINAIGRETTE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was revealed to be lame in the off fore leg. Trainer R Fraser was advised the runner would require a veterinary certificate prior to next racing. App A Bakos licensed to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days (to commence midnight 30/04/2022 and include midnight 07/05/2022 ) under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for her use of the 11 ties prior to the 100m.
 
ABSOLUTE GLORY – Raced wide throughout with cover.
 
 
Race 7: HANDS & HEELS RACING BM50 Handicap 1300 metres
 
TAKEN ON CHANCE – Raced in restricted room near the 800m.
 
ANOTHER TOSSER – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
 
ROSARAYA – Commenced to weaken from the 250m and took no further part in the event. When questioned regarding today performance jockey R McMahon advised that in his opinion the mare failed to respond when place under hard riding and as a result proved disappointing. As the runner had left the course prior to undergoing a veterinary examination Stewards will be in contact with trainer T Austin in relation to the mare’s post-race recovery.
 
GRAND PALAZZO (NZ)  - J Missen – Improved onto heels rounding the home turn and was forced to momentarily steady.
 
AMADEO – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ROSAIRE – Began awkwardly tightening ANOTHER TOSSER.
 
ORDESA – Slow to begin.
 
LASCO – Over-raced in the early stages. Improved onto heels and was forced to restrain near the 800m.
