Chairman of Stewards – R Hanson.
Stewards – Z Lines (Cadet).

GENERAL

On Friday 6/06/25at 10.00am, a track inspection was conducted by Stewards at the Barcaldine racecourse which revealed a soft wet area on the running rail at the 1400m. The wet area was found to be caused by a leaking sprinkler and as a result made the surface unsuitable to race from the 1600m start. Stewards, in consultation with Barcaldine Council, Barcaldine Racing Club and Racing Queensland agreed that there were no options to make the area safe for racing. Trainers with runners in Race 5 were contacted by Racing Queensland and the distance of the race was changed from 1600m to 1300m.

The following horses were declared late scratchings by Stewards due to no riders being available at the meeting:

GOODFUN – Apprentice Jockey N Palmer was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) in that approaching the 200m, whilst under hard riding he did make insufficient effort to prevent GOODFUN from shifting into the rightful running of CANNON HILL (W D’Avila) causing that horse to be steadied and lose ground.
