GENERAL
 
The following horses were declared late scratching’s by Stewards due to no riders being available at the meeting:
Race 2: ALL VALOUR
Race 4: BOLD HUSSAR
 
Stewards permitted the following overweight at today’s meeting:
Race 5: Jockey E Bell + 0.5kg.
 
Race 1: JOIN BARCALDINE RACE CLUB QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 2-Y-O & Up 1000 Metres
 
The start of this race was brought forward to 1.00pm due to storms being present in the area.
 
RICALLEN – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
HASANA – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages of the event.
 
PENSIERO – Slow to begin.
 
SALTCLAY – Became unbalanced for a short distance passing the 100m.
 
SIMPLY SMASHING – Became fractious in the barrier prior to jumping. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Race 2: MAY DAY COMMITTEE RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP 1000 Metres
 
Prior to the start of this race a delegate of senior jockeys inspected the track after a heavy downpour of rain was received during and following Race 1. Jockeys advised Stewards that the condition of the track was suitable to continue racing.
 
The track was downgraded to a Soft 5 prior to this race at 2.40pm.
 
POCKET PICKER – Raced wide throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the presence of blood in the mouth consistent with the gelding biting its tongue.
 
FREDDIE EDDIE – Jumped outwards at the start and bumped SOCIALLY RED. Laid in over the concluding stages of the event.
 
WAYFARER'S WAY – Began awkwardly and bumped WINDORAH, which shifted outwards. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
WINDORAH – Began awkwardly, shifted outwards and bumped WAYFARER’S WAY.
 
FLOP TURN RIVER – Began awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin. Jockey M Morton reported that the gelding raced ungenerously throughout the event and was unable to be fully tested to the finish.
 
SOCIALLY RED – Began awkwardly and bumped FREDDIE EDDIE. Raced wide throughout the event. Shifted out under pressure passing the 150m.
 
Race 3: GBA CLASS 4 PLATE 3-Y-O & Up 1000 Metres
 
BOYFRIEND MATERIAL – Bumped on jumping.
 
OUTBACK BANDIT – Raced wide throughout the event. Inclined to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
SHE SMASHES – Raced wide throughout the event. Jumped outwards at the start and bumped BOYFRIEND MATERIAL.
 
BOURBON LANE – Raced wide throughout the event. Jockey N Morton reported that after being caught wide throughout the event, BOURBON LANE was unable to respond to her riding entering the straight and also added that the gelding will benefit from the fitness gained in today’s event.
 
Race 4: CAPRICORN PLUMBING BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1200 Metres
 
LEGOLAS – Laid in under pressure over the final 100m.
 
ROCKY REWARD – Bumped on jumping and was slow into stride.
 
GREGARIOUS – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
REBELIOUS RED – Began awkwardly and as a result was slow into stride. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
MADAM EXCELS – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout the event. Apprentice Jockey V Soulsby reported that the mare was inclined to lay out throughout the event which resulted in her having some difficulty in fully testing her mount to the finish.
 
ALL TOO LUCKY – Began awkwardly and bumped ROCKY REWARD.
 
YA LOVE HER – Underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination due to not starting for an extended period and was past suitable to start.
 
Race 5: MICHAEL HORMAN TRANSPORT OPEN HANDICAP 1000 Metres
 
HURTLE – Stewards accepted the reasons offered by Trainer B Johnson for the late rider declaration of Apprentice Jockey J Devine as the rider for the gelding. Raced wide throughout the event. Inclined to lay in under pressure over the final 150m.
 
INVICTUS LAD – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
TANGO FAME – Bumped on jumping. Stewards acceded to a request from Jockey E Bell to ride the gelding 0.5kg over its allotted weight after taking into account that Jockey Bells gear was wet from the rain which was received earlier in the program.
 
GOTTA FLY – Began awkwardly and bumped TANGO FAME.
 
FLY ON BYE – Began awkwardly.
